Don’t make the mistake of signing up with Bluegreen. After years of being a loyal customer, I reached out to discuss exiting my membership. Their "solution" was to demand thousands of dollars just to... See more

We hope this will serve as a warning…
We hope this will serve as a warning for all of you out there. Big Cedar Vacations and Bluegreen Resorts are nothing less than Shysters. We were misled into believing the timeshare would increase in value. We were told the process of reselling the timeshare was falsely presented as simple and profitable. Their promises of substantial rental income were significantly overstated. We were led to believe booking times would be flexible and easily accessible. (It is anything but that!) We were oversold and the benefits of the RCI exchange program were exaggerated, with no clear mention of its limitations and extra fees. The ongoing maintenance costs were minimized, and the potential for future increases was downplayed.
The offer of airline tickets and a gift card was used to distract from the true financial commitment required. We were assured that refinancing at a lower rate would be easy, which turned out to be false.
We were given the impression of a carefree lifetime of vacations, without being informed of the financial and logistical burdens involved. To make matters worse, we were never told that our heirs would be saddled with this burdensome contract in the event of our passing. Simply put, we continue to be robbed.
Dishonest and devious - DO NOT involve with these people
I gave one star because there is no option to award zero stars ~ This operation has the rudest and most unprofessional telephone sales staff that it may be possible to find ~ They lie to one's face and go back on promises ~ one example: they tell you that 'the supervisor' insistes on additional charges, but refuse to let one speak to the so-called 'supervisor' ~ stay away from this nest of scam artists.
Disrespectful sales staff/manager
We were sold a $250 3 night package at the Cambria in New Orleans with the obligation to sit through a sales meeting for two hours but with no obligation to buy. If you are going to do this, be prepared for a terrible sales staff that try their hardest but get flustered when you say No. If you get adamant about your position, the sales staff becomes angry and disrespectful. The young lady actually walked about 20 feet in front of us huffing and puffing, on her phone, while showing us a room at the Club La Pension Resort (which by the way had FILTHY windows - obviously little upkeep). Even the sales manager (Shane ) got an attitude with us for simply saying No. At that point we were finding their behavior actually kind of funny. We had read the reviews before going to the meeting so we knew we were not going to buy but we were kind of shocked by the behavior of the sales team. My wife works for a cruise line and there was no way they could beat the deals we get so we were straightforward and honest and I think it just angered them more. I heard that Hilton bought BG vacations. I hope they can find a more professional sales staff because that was the worst we've ever seen. We still had a great time at the Cambria (great Hotel with an AWESOME staff) and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in NOLA. I will hand it to BG Vacas in that at least they kept their word and provided us with our gift card.
You Know They Are Lying When You See Their Lips Move
Be Careful – Misleading Sales Tactics
I wanted to share my experience so others don’t run into the same frustrations we did. When we purchased the vacation package, we were told we had two years to book because I am an Army veteran. I made it clear that we likely wouldn’t be able to travel that year, and the salesperson assured me that rescheduling would be no problem. However, when I later called to reschedule, I was given the runaround, had to speak with multiple managers, and spent over an hour and a half just trying to get them to honor what they originally promised.
We were also led to believe we could choose from any Bluegreen Vacation property, but they specifically highlighted Bass Pro Shops’ Big Cedar Lodge, a 5,000-acre resort offering golfing, fishing, and hunting. That was the only reason we agreed to the package. However, when we went to book, we were told that Big Cedar Lodge was not actually included in our package. After escalating to another manager, they said they would look into it and call us back—but weeks have passed with no response.
At this point, we’re not even sure we’ll use the package. We feel like we were misled about both where we could stay and how long we had to book.
I hope Bass Pro Shops reconsiders working with this company. As a veteran, I was given assurances that simply weren’t true, and it’s disappointing to have been sold something under misleading terms. If you’re considering one of these vacation packages, make sure you get everything in writing and double-check all the details before committing but my recommendation is use another company. There are much better options out there. Who knows what else they will lie about and I am sure their timeshare sales pitch would have been very high pressure.
Unbelievable
First, I am a Blue Green owner. So i expect alot.
Second, if Blue Green sells you a marketing package to sell more points, then it would make customer service sense to make sure your properties have enough availability. They do not. But to solve the issue, they use some tool to book you in a non-Blue Green hotel that you have no choice over and can't see what the choice is until 24 hours later. Unbelievable. I have resisted researching how to get out of this Blue Green nightmare, but I think I have to agree with my husband now. Their customer service is sorely lacking....so going to find out how to say goodbye.
we are bluegreen owners(suckers)
we are bluegreen owners(suckers). we had a bad experience at on of thier affiliate hotels and had to leave after entering the dirty room . when I called to inform them about the conditions at this affiliate they told me they could not refund my points ,but they said they would offer me a weekend stay at any of thier resorts and they would bill me 249 dollars for a three night stay and i would attend a meeting and receive a $250 mastercard which would "CANCEL OUT THE CHARGE" . I accepted the deal and was billed 249 dollars. well i booked a three night stay at thier South Mountian resort in New Hampshire and was told i would have to meet with the sales staff at 11:00 am. After traveling 6 hours to the resort at 10:30 i was told do not come to the meeting you are already owners and just recently upgraded your plan so we dont want to meet with you and we are not giving you the promised mastercard. " Because we dont have anything to sell you" i explained that this was supposed to be an appeasement and they knew this when they offered me this deal. after wasting hours on hold speaking to 5 different people they still renegged on the deal . is this how you would want to be treated? i would not have paid thousands of dollars for this time share knowing what i know now! they are just as sleasy as most of the others. my satisfaction for this experience would be if i keep you from joining this timeshare and joining these liers and scammers please dont make the same mistake i made.
Cheap Deals Can Fool You
Yes I agree with all the victims of this company. You will be fooled. You will be lied to and you will be scammed! The time I was offered this deal I thought it was great! I'm just supposed to inquire only about something when I called Choice Hotels and they transferred me to this agency. Everything went by so fast with how persuasive the agent was that I said yes to this offer and paid $200. But due to the delays on my visa I was not able to book the hotel right away and ask for refund. They then will enticed you to keep the offer by extending it for another year for free which they say is a kind gesture from them and not because they don't want to lose the sale. But somehow even if I already can go something is preventing me. And yes I tried numerous times to refund this but they won't and I was even forced to pay another $60 to extend it hoping I could still use it but due to my circumstance I cannot go to Florida and tried again to refund it but they refused. I wish I checked the reviews with this company before I said yes. So please to all of you who just got a call from them or recently paid it. Go call them and ask to refund because as they say there is only 30 days limit to refund from the time of purchase which I don't remember them telling me right from the beginning. I'm thankful I just lost money and not be there having a bad experience where will cost me more and leave a horrible memory to live with.
Terrible experience
Terrible experience. Stole my money when they explicitly said they would give a full refund at any time. Liars and thieves. Do not do business with them.
What a scam
What a scam! I was at Cabelas in Georgia, my daughter had just gotten married and wanted to get away for 3 days. I told the woman there what I wanted and she told me no problem . When they called to make reservations it became a total shit show. They never ever told me this was a timeshare. No refund , basically I gave them 150.00. This in my opinion is criminal. I know it was only 150.00 but you took my money, lied to me. Criminals.
Bluegreen Vacations
My wife and I went to the Bluegeen Vacations meeting in Panama City Beach, Florida on Dec 31, 2024. The people were very nice and the sales reps were pushy and seemed to be nice. We told them we didn't want to buy anything and wasn't interested. They kept offering more benefits and we reluctantly accepted. I wish we had read these reviews first. We executed the cancellation option when we got home.
Scam artists
They changed our hotel stating it was an upgrade & charged us more for that upgrade. The hotel ended up in a less convenient, very unsafe location. Our view was of a greyhound station & a half burnt down building with graffiti. At the seminar we had to go to, they gave us incorrect times.. when we stated our parking time was up, they told us “you HAVE to stay” & wouldn’t let us leave. Terrible experience. Add to that, our rep that day just kept saying “please do this so I don’t get yelled at” — really seemed like he knew what he was doing.. not.
TOTAL SCAM Bass Pro shops should be…
TOTAL SCAM Bass Pro shops should be ashamed for teaming up with this company. The salesmen are super pushy and will LIE to you! I cancelled the very next day after seeing all of these reviews which was no easy task the customer service lady argued with me and was also very pushy you have to stand your ground with these people. Call them out for being scammers! DO NOT USE THIS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!
The ABOLTUTE worst timeshare company…
The ABOLTUTE worst timeshare company you could invest in. Don't waste your lime or money. The customer service is terrible, the hidden fees are ongoing, the consent unavailability, the uncleanliness, and the habitual lies they tell you. It's a SCAM to say the least.
I HATE timeshare companies!
I HATE timeshare companies and normally steer clear. Nonetheless I let myself get talked into buying a $199 3-night stay with BlueGreen Vacations. My experience booking the stay was awful. They are not transparent, communications are unclear, they don't answer questions, don't give written instructions, don't keep a two-way communication log, and generally give you the runaround. Pretty much bait-and-switch. Wish I had performed due diligence before dealing with them. After spending a frustrating week trying to get straight, consistent information from them I looked online for an email address for them; didn't find that but did find Trustpilot and read all the horrible reviews of them, warning people to STAY AWAY! Hence forward I will always check with Trust Pilot before doing business with a company. I wanted to cancel my trip and get a refund and wasn't getting anywhere until I finally connected with an upper-level customer service person. She asked why I wanted to cancel; I cited all the problems I'd had and then mentioned all the negative reviews posted on Trustpilot. Bingo, I immediately got a refund. Thank you Trustpilot!
Den of thieves
I went with my GF to the meeting with Blue Green in Las Vegas and it was a horrible experience! This is a scam and they have no interest except stealing your money and if they cant steal it they get upset, stay away from anything that has to do with this company or you will be sorry. The 5 star ratings they have are surely written by the thieves themselves.
Worst High-Pressure Sales I've ever experienced
Decided to take the cheap vacation offer with lots of points for my Choice Hotels membership after booking a Choice Hotel room. Wasn't worth it. Salesman was hostile after I complained that I felt he was demanding information about my private life I was not comfortable sharing and I got a very strongly implied threat that he would not sign-off on the hotel & bonus points unless I answered all his questions. I let him know early on that where was NO WAY I was going to purchase anything. I'm not surprised to see all the 'it's a scam' reviews here; it sure sounded like one to me. Buyer beware! Choice Hotels/Privileges should NOT be doing business with this company.

I was charged additional $178.86 by the Westin Las Vegas Hotel and had to pay over $100 cab fees for transportation to check in location and back for presentation! Should have been accomplished in a single trip. These additional fees were not mentioned at Bass Pro when the salesperson approached me. I asked several times about hidden additional charges and was assured that there were not any!! What a rip-off scam!!
DO NOT BUY. BUYER BEWARE. NO REFUND AFTER 30 DAYS. NO EXCEPTIONS!!,
I purchased a blue green vacations 3 night stay. They said I could use it anywhere as they have partners in Canada. This is not the case. I called them 3 times to get a refund for their marketing package of $199, and they would not give a refund. My husband is a disabled veteran. He tried to talk to them too. DO NOT BUY their marketing package!!!
They said after 30 days they do not REFUND. NO EXCEPTIONS.!!! BUYER BEWARE!!!
Just say NO; save your $
The resort we stayed for our presentation was very nice. The room was very, very small. We did not purchase because 1) unpredictable monthly maintenance fees. Current weather patterns (natural disasters) have affected many areas. Major destruction resulting from these disasters impact insurance costs. Many insurance companies are leaving the state (Florida). Rising insurance rates along with building maintenance & resort personnel salaries are passed on to owners on a monthly basis. Some resorts may be in the “eye of the storm” or are hit by wildfires (check Gatlinburg resort in the past that burned as a result of fires). 2) You are prepaying (a lot of $) for future vacations. Invest your $. & Take the same amount of $ you would pay as an owner & invest in an interest bearing account.
You can stay at these resorts without being an owner.
Also note the merger with Hilton Grand Vacations may affect your selected times to vacation as more people will be trying to use their sites. Check blackout dates. Do your homework & due diligence. The sales pitch is only one part of the bigger picture. All factors are not presented equally.
I would question the integrity of costs presented as approximately 100 owners are trying to sell their “points” on ebay for a fraction of the price quoted during our presentation. I’m sure there are multiple reasons for selling but when multiple sellers are selling their points for $1 I question the rationale for purchasing in the first place. The rising monthly maintenance costs have to be a factor.
You are essentially paying for monthly maintenance costs (including insurance, salaries, taxes) IN ADDITION to purchasing (for a lot of $) future vacation time that may or may not be your first choice. Buyer beware.
