Best third-party practice tests there are

Blueprint was the only source of practice tests I used outside of the official AAMC. Everything except for the difficulty was very representative of the real thing. The science in particular is much harder, which is good practice especially early on in studying. The explanations are also longer, detailed, and better than AAMC. The only slight drawback is the CARS section, which isn't as close to the AAMC's logic. I still did those sections for stamina.

Blueprint is the most impactful and economical

The Blueprint MCAT prep is widely believed to be the most representative, and I agree. Their analytics tools and diagnostic tests helped me improve my score by about 10 percentile points. This service was the most straightforward and impactful for the price. If I needed to do this again (I don't, thanks to Blueprint), I would easily make this choice.

Choose Blueprint if you like structure and feeling taken care of!

Blueprint MCAT made me feel like I had everything under control in terms of my study process. They turned the overwhelming concept of delving into all that matieral into an easy-to-manage, step-by-step plan. I never felt like I had too much to do each day, because they planned my study schedule so nicely, and it was never hard to get through a module, because they were all so engaging! If you like structure, engagement, and feeling like experts are making sure you're the most prepared you can be, choose Blueprint!!
Improved from a 501 diagnostic in May to a 513 actual score in September.

I highly recommend using Blueprint MCAT…

I highly recommend using Blueprint MCAT (formerly called NextStep) in preparing for your medical school entrance exam. Their practice exams are really well written and I found their explanations to be more in depth than most online test prep companies. I would go as far as saying their Qbank is the best available (not counting AAMC’s practice tests obviously). Their questions are a bit harder than the actual test, but that honestly helped me during the real exam The software and UI isn’t the most friendly, but in my studying, I never really cared for the built in “study features” anyway and mostly used their content for full length mock exams, which worked great!

In short, the high quality of their Qbank, being able to simulate full length exams, and having detailed explanations were all nice features that I found helpful in my studying.

(side note: results I got on the practice exams were consistent and my actual MCAT score was 2-3 pts higher than the scores I got from Blueprint’s FL tests)

Highly Recommend!

The Blueprint MCAT exams were extremely helpful for me, especially during COVID when the exams were shortened. Their prep material was super easy to read and understand and I would highly recommend their course material to all.

Best Practice Tests Outside of AAMC

This is definitely the go-to MCAT resource second only to AAMC itself. Out of all of the practice material that I used to prepare for the MCAT, Blueprint has the most accurate practice tests and really great feedback about test performance after every practice test, and I found that I was able to learn and adjust my content/ strategy very easily. I highly recommend using Blueprint test prep.

This is a great supplement to the aamc…

This is a great supplement to the aamc practice tests. This was the first FL test that I used and it definitely helped me gauge where I was. The difficulty of the C/P section allowed me to better work on my timing. The B/B and P/S are honestly also really helpful and representative of the real exam. Currently, the only problem is the CARS section. CARS was not very representative of a real exam. Ultimately for its price, I think this is a great resource to use and will allow you to better prepare for the format of the MCAT.

Worth the price

Blueprint’s layout and lesson plans helped me make serious progress on the mcat. In the end I raised my score 10 points! The videos are engaging and very well thought out and produced. It’s a financial investment, but if you work through the program you will definitely raise your score!

It was really helpful

It was really helpful! The exams while challenging do give the test taker a realistic view of how to prepare for the exam compared to other test prep companies.

Comprehensive and thorough, yet clear - 100th percentile!!

I bought the Next Step exams, and they were a critical part in my preparation for my MCAT exam. The exams that were provided were really high quality, and did a good job in helping me train stamina for taking an 8 hour exam. The content on the exams themselves were also high quality and helped me fill in many of the gaps in my knowledge before moving onto the official AAMC exams. I was ultimately able to score in the 100th percentile, and the NS exams definitely played a huge role in that success!

These exams definitely helped me…

These exams definitely helped me improve my score. They are much more difficult than the actual AAMC exams, but that just made the actual test taking experience less stressful! I loved that they made a Covid-length exam.

The best MCAT test banks…

Honestly the best MCAT test banks outside of AAMC. I purchased test bank and Qbank access. I used the test bank alone, alongside Uworld Qbank and AAMC tests/Qbank. Frankly I think the Qbank is kind of redundant to buy if you're also getting Uworld. BUT explanations are really good, I'm sure it's even better linked to content review. Also, the tests truly poke at your weaknesses and the result analysis is really cool to see weak points, timing issues, and subjects you can probably lay off with review. Will be recommending it.

Great Practice Exams

Their practice exams prepare you well for taking the actual MCAT. The questions are either around the same level or slightly harder, and leave you feeling more prepared because you're grappling with slightly more complex questions.

In the end, it'll be worth the investment

Straight forward to use. Bumped my score exactly 10pts (as advertised/ promised), all while I worked on a condensed timeline because I was an MCAT re-taker who wasn't planning on being a re-taker. There are some errors and glitches but nothing that actually got in the way of my preparation. Practice tests skewed ever so slightly high for me in scoring, but at least it gave me some confidence going into the test the second time.

Blueprint set me up for success

I had a long way to go after my first diagnostic but Blueprint took me above and beyond what I thought possible in the time period I had before studying. I enjoyed it, but I am glad it is over thanks to the study program I will have only taken the official MCAT once because I got my goal score.

Worked for me!

Worked for me! I’m a non-traditional applicant that hadn’t taken many of the chemistry/physics/biochemistry courses that covered testable content on the MCAT. I’d also been out of school for several years, so pretty rough on many of the subjects. The study plan was great to lay out my studying and keep me motivated to stay on track. Blueprint was comprehensive and covered absolutely everything that I needed to know. Each module focuses on the most salient points and tries to use a big picture view. The office hours were great, especially Phil. It was awesome to get a real person to break down your question in real time in front of you. Plus the AAMC resources that came with my blueprint package were key for preparation. I started with a 487 diagnostic and tested 513 on the real deal.

Blueprint is comprehensive program

Blueprint is comprehensive program. They have a really helpful system that tests you up front to find out where you are struggling in the MCAT material. The calendar was especially helpful for planning out which lessons to complete and the time frame that they needed to be completed in. The free set of books was also nice. It is always good to review in more than one format if possible.

I would recommend that you start studying sooner rather than later and that you will need more time than you think to complete the modules. If your goal is to get through 5-6 modules per day, you might only get through 2-3 per day. But if you start studying with enough time, that won't set you back too much and you can always make up the difference on later days. Really the more effort you put in the better results you will see.

The course was great

The course was great. The online self paced nature of the course allows you to complete the course as fast as you would like. It also allows for you to go back and review things previously studied.
