A practical backup for my new home

I first backed FridgePower on Kickstarter while I was furnishing my new home in Canada. The early-bird price seemed like good value and was one of the main reasons I decided to support the campaign.

I use FridgePower with my Frigidaire refrigerator as a backup during power outages, particularly to help keep food and refrigerated medication cold. In my test, it kept the refrigerator running for approximately 27 hours. Actual runtime will naturally vary depending on the refrigerator, room temperature, door openings and starting battery level.

Having a dedicated backup for the refrigerator gives me much more peace of mind. I also like the clean white finish, which blends in nicely with the furniture and overall style of my new home. Overall, it has been a practical addition to my home backup setup.

💙 for Bluetti

I am long time customer of Bluetti, with multiple power stations, batteries and solar panels giving me power on the go and backup at home.

I have had great experiences dealing with various people at Bluetti, from sales to technical support. Bluetti likes to get their customers involved in shaping the future of new products as well as providing input for tuning existing products.

One of Bluetti's most powerful features is their app. Bluetti regularly review their app, takes feedback from their customers, and introduces new capabilities. Sometimes they even introduce new features to products that I have owned for a while, which is amazing!

Another thing that I like about Bluettis products is the build quality. Everything is well made, and the packaging is excellent...I don't worry about couriers handling my new Bluetti purchases!

Okay products but horrible customer service!

I've owned two Bluetti portable backup power stations now. One I bought from Amazon and this second one I bought directly off their home website.

Amazon customer service is usually pretty good unless it involves police reports from Canadians. But Bluetti customer service. Its like they want us to do their work for them.

After agreeing my unit required servicing and I bought it brand new from their website (May 25, 2026) and it needs servicing already? They had POOR quality control and sent me a defective unit. The Bluetooth component kept dropping connection. And the worst part was the battery itself. I bought the Elite 100 v2.

After a week in power OFF mode and not standby I noticed it kept loosing power about 2-3% per day. At that rate after a month it would be drained and according to them that is normal/acceptable which is B.S... how can they claim the top-off charge is once every 3 months if it won't even last 1 month?

So after they kept repeatingly agreeing with me it required servicing did I get them to send a RMA Return label. But the problems didn't stop there. I live in the downtown core of the biggest city in Canada. Yet their RMA return shipper was in a tiny hamlet of a city - three cities away from me in either direction. I don't own a car and to ship a 30lb weight to the depot would have cost me 1/3 the cost of the actual Power station. Meaning I'd loose even more.

In the end I finally got their shipper to come pick-up the return item... that was a month after arguing back and forth that they need to have it returned for warranty purposes. They expect me to appraise them of the progress of the return service??? Huh??? Why am I sending them reports of the progress of their return service? As of June 25, 2026 according to GLS Logistics, the item has been delivered and signed for. But Bluetti keeps asking me about, "where is the progress of the return parcel". How the *bleep* should I know about the progress of their return department?

And the worst part I find out Bluetti is actually a Chinese company which as a Chinese person, makes me embarrassed to even be Chinese!
