OUT OF STATE PURCHASE NIGHTMARE!
AVOID BMW of Palm Springs like the plague!
I strongly advise buying from a different dealership with a much better BBB & customer satisfaction rating.
The on-going delays, along with the lack of transparency, communication & urgency at this dealership has resulted in the absolute WORST car buying experience EVER!
6/18/25 Committed to purchasing a CPO vehicle
6/20/25 Received purchase docs,
with multiple errors, including missing inspection results on the CPO checklist
6/23/25 eve: Received 3rd & FINAL set of purchase docs (rejected 2 previous sets due to multiple errors)
6/24/25 Funds wired to dealership & discovered they reduced the vehicle price online AFTER the purchase agreement was signed. Requested refund of the price difference & received partial refund for the inconvenience
6/25/25 Dealership confirmed receipt of wired funds
6/26/25 Transport co. picked up vehicle & I received digital copy of title & registration docs to review - notified Finance mgr that the ‘Appt. of Agent’ form was incomplete (missing the agent’s name & address)
6/27/25 Received physical title transfer & registration docs to sign via FedEx & the ‘Appt. of Agent’ form was STILL missing the agent’s name & address, which was not provided until several hours after the other signed docs were dropped off at FedEx
6/28/25 eve : Received the FedEx label via email to return completed & signed Appt. of Agent forms
6/29/25 Dropped off signed Appt. of Agent forms at FedEx & emailed a copy to the Finance mgr
6/30/25 Transport co delivered vehicle & there was only 1/4 tank of gasoline in the car (cheapskate move by the dealership)
7/01/25 Finance mgr. PROMISED title & registration docs would be overnighted to the MI title co. Agent
7/03/25 Emailed Finance mgr. requesting tracking # & date title w/ docs were sent to MI title co. - NO RESPONSE
7/07/25:
9-10 am Sent 2nd email request to Finance & Sales mgrs.
10:35 am Called MI title co. who confirmed they never received the title or any docs from the dealership
12 pm Left VM with dealership General mgr
12:35 pm Left a message with the dealership receptionist to have the General mgr’s boss contact me
NO RESPONSE FROM ANYONE AT THE DEALERSHIP
1:15 pm Called IndiGO Group (TX) - dealership owner & demanded they force the dealership to overnight the title & docs to the MI title co. immediately.
2:30 pm Sales mgr. called & the Finance mgr. claimed the person responsible for title transfer & docs was unexpectedly out of the office as of the previous wk.
4:41 pm Sales mgr called back with the name of the Office mgr who would overnight the title & docs to the MI title co..
4:53 pm Office mgr stated all title transfer & registration docs were uploaded into a system & the review will take approx. 24 hrs. Title & docs can’t be sent to MI title co. until the review is completed.
7/08/25:
2:38 pm Office mgr emailed me that the docs were rejected AND a different title co. was assigned, so now I need to sign a new Appt. of Agent form & overnight to the dealership
3:06 pm Left VM for Office mgr to call me
3:31 pm Called IndiGO Group to intervene
8:34 pm Office mgr confirmed title & docs would be overnighted on 7/09/25
7/10/25: MI title co. received & processed title transfer & plate registration, emailed me copies & overnighted me the originals.
Dealership lost the 2nd key fob )7/10/25 rec’d replacement) & also lost the
owners manual which had to be ordered directly through the mfgr in Germany & will take 3 wks to arrive.
This entire transaction lasted 23 days due to slow processes & a plethora of inefficiencies at this dealership - primarily caused by unnecessary paperwork errors & delays. I also incurred expenses for 10 days of car insurance on a vehicle I couldn’t legally drive & could not sell my other car during this time.
Based on this horrific experience, I vehemently advise others to conduct their business elsewhere & thoroughly research any company beforehand.
