The site says it is 4-6 weeks to receive the boaters card. It has been almost 2 months and I still have not received it. I contacted the company, and I was told it will be another 2 weeks. My temporary certificate will be expired before I receive my card. For those who are in New York state, the DMV does NOT except the temporary certificate to put the stamp on your license.

Update: I waited the allotted time I was told too, and contacted them again. Now I have to wait an addition 5 weeks to receive my safety card. This company is a joke.

it was good for learning but not super hard to understand

Long time boater here. I signed up for this service to get my boaters card, now required to boat in CA. Did not finish the training in the allotted time frame @ 90 days. I didn't even realize I had a time frame to finish an online course. I called customer service to see if I can get reinstated to finish up the course that I already paid for. The guy told me I was a crook for asking for something for free, a service I already paid for "lol". They took away my access and are requesting I pay again. Who is the real crook here??
Its not about the money for me its about service....
Update, Boater-Ed is 100% the crook here. There are company's offering free education and testing. All you have to do is pay for the card through your state....... What a joke

Very throrough and comprehensive course, well organized and paced to maximize learning before taking the final exam. There is much more info than I expected. The structure of the course ensured that I spent the time necessary to acquire the expected knowledge before taking the exam. I felt overwhelmed at times, but the apprioach worked and I passed the first time.

I like the video and animation. It is easy to memorize signals in picture.

Good material and structure makes it easy to learn and to pass the course

It was a great and simple app to use my main criticism is if you fail a quiz you’re not able to skip the sections that you got right on. I think explaining junction buoys would be better too. But overall great way to get my boaters license.

I learned a lot. Never been a boat owner so I hope I can retain what I have learned.

The course was not only educational but very informative. The videos were all up to date which is very engaging. The material in the course was easy to follow and navigating couldn't have been easier. I was very impressed.

The Test and service was great, I learned a lot. But it's been over 3-4 weeks now and still haven't received my perinate card. i have checked my emails but it doesn't say anything about a shipment fail or anything.

While I already knew most of the information in the course regarding boats and PWCs, there was still plenty of information that was new to me. I’ve learned many things from the course, including the meaning of bouy systems, how to approach Naval vessels, how to work through a canal lift system, how to properly maintain the engine and structure of my boat, and how to properly handle dangerous situations. This course is very affordable and informative. If I had to get another form of license, I would use BoatED again.

I like that it wasn't timed, and I was able to take the course at my own pace.

Clear outline and relevant information covered. Interactive scenarios could be more advanced.
