Bodyology Professional Massage Diploma Course

I enrolled for the Master Practitioner Diploma in Holistic Massage with Bodyology School of Massage, delivered in Sheffield, this course also runs in London. As someone interested in massage but without previous training, I was looking for a practical course for a beginner which welcomed a mature person.

I signed up for the one-day Taster course which provided a really practical introduction to massage for family and friends, with the hands-on experience supported by understanding of anatomy. There was a welcome chance to talk with the highly experienced tutor about my suitability for the course.

Encouraged by this, I signed up for the Diploma course, which ran during six weekends over six months. The weekends each included both a day of practical massage training and a theory session on anatomy. These were supported by an online learning portal with many video demonstrations, and regular evening webinars. Together these provided a structured and in-depth learning programme which covered all aspects.

Our massage group was wonderfully diverse between genders, ages, cultural and occupational backgrounds. We were practising massage, learning and supporting each other from the start, which really helped our motivation to complete the course.

The assessment included a practical massage and multi-choice exam on the anatomy, but the most daunting challenge was the requirement to complete a portfolio of 50 practice massages. The group support helped with peer exchange massages and by engaging family and friends, being organised and never missing an opportunity, it was possible to complete the portfolio and move onto the final exams. The experiential learning, combined with tutor feedback was a powerful journey. The final assessments rightly required that we met the professional standards of the course.

Everyone was on their own personal journey, our group had weddings, house moves, job changes, children and other issues to navigate. The tutors and the Bodyology founder were always there to guide and help people to complete in their own time. The course fees were very reasonable, given the hours of experienced tutor contact, the learning materials and the well-equipped course venue. I wholeheartedly recommend Bodyology as an excellent School of Massage.
