I visited the Wimbledon branch on…
I visited the Wimbledon branch on Saturday 10th January at about 17.45pm. I was greeted by the staff member Rusheika. She informed me love 2 shop members get an extra 10% off their purchases today. She appeared friendly and helpful. I was looking at your make up promotion 5 for £10. I noticed how Rusheika went towards another customer and offered her a skincare sample and told her ‘this is for you to try’. I noticed this wasn’t offered to neither me and another customer who were also shopping. I decided to buy 5 make up items once I decided on the lipstick shade. When this was being put through Rusheika mentioned it was £10 to pay. I asked what about the 10% extra off? I noticed she offered this to other customers upon their purchase. However, she said she can’t process this as maybe I don’t qualify! I offered her my love 2 shop card. And after few moments this went through. My reason for this email is that I definitely noticed customer preference and differentiated treatment of customers during my visit. Not sure if this was discriminatory but I didn’t feel right. I totally believe there should be fairness in how one interacts with their staff and customers, however on this occasion I didn’t sense this. I’m not sure how many other like me have been treated this way and walked away without realising how this is unfair and wrong treatment which should be addressed. If I don’t mention I feel this will carry on and be accepted as ok when it’s not. I don’t feel comfortable visiting the store again.
