Targeting old people

They are obviously targeting older people. They give the impression they are your regular company. Then the 3 month bill hits. I'm waiting for my refund.

Disgusting company

Fraud is a criminal offence in the UK. Unless you can provide the call recording? Or do GiffGaff mobiles not provide that function to your sales team?

Much like others have said, my elderly mother received a letter today stating that payment would be taken (today) for the £350 annual boiler cover. She does not have a boiler. Also, with significant memory issues, she has zero recollection of ever talking to these people, but is still well aware that she does not have a boiler. Also, no emails to her, no prior contact as far as we know. When I got through to them on the phone, they acted all flustered and claimed the person I needed to talk to was "out on lunch". They did however call back, the money has been refunded, and the DD has been cancelled from our side.

Very, very interestingly, although they stated they'd review call records, the call my mum received (checked her phone) was from a GiffGaff mobile number, so I doubt there's any recording made anywhere on their systems.

I have submitted a detailed report to ActionFraud, as this appears to be a repeating pattern based on reviews, and it may be one that warrants further digging into Tony Copland's other 11 registered companies.

Shameful

I’m the daughter of yet another old lady scammed by this company. Why is it that nothing can be done to stop them?

Avoid this company at all cost

Avoid this company at all cost. They’ve been scamming my 87 year old mother out of £299.99 now for two years. Also use company name Appliance Breakdown.

DO not use this company

DO not use this company. My elderly mother signed up for a Gold policy which is twice as expensive as other providers. Her boiler started leaking 9 days ago. An engineer was promised within 24 hours and we're still waiting despite ringing every day to enquire. They can't find an engineer. Absolute rubbish. The one time we got through on the phone, nobody actually spoke- all that could be heard was unprofessional lads office banter. Appalling company.

Unscrupulous and manipulative.

The company cold-called my elderly father and persuaded him to take out two policies, costing £600 per year in total, neither of which he needed. They did not reply to my emails querying this. I then read online that they have been fined for cold calling.
