dreaded boiler failure
dreaded boiler failure. fortunately we had a plan with scottish power who contributed £750 to a new boiler. you can source the boiler yourself and provide receipts or go through boiler plan who are the preferred dealer and will apply the £750 discount. had a video call with the chap from boiler care (forgot his name but he was great) where i showed him the existing boiler and various locations around the house, this enabled him to give me a quote. the quote was for 2 different makes of boiler,worcester and vailant, both quotes where a lot less than i expected, i went with the vailant on recommendation from the advisor. this was during a very cold spell in feb, the engineer came to complete the installation within a few days which was a lifesaver.
the engineer (fred) was onsite at 8am on the day and worked non-stop through till 18.30 to complete the installation. fred was very professional, very courteous, very friendly, put dust sheets down to avoid any mishaps, talked me through the installation without any jargon and demonstrated the boiler and the mobile thermostatic controls,in short, it was a pleasure to have fred in the house. as an aside, fred adhered to all covid protocols.the boiler has a 10 yr warranty but to maintain this it must be serviced every year. i also took out the care plan with boiler care which at £8 a month covers the service and radiators, an absolute bargain in my opinion. boiler has been in for a month, no issues so far. my experience from start to finish has been more than satisfactory so i would highly recommend.

I was quite unsure if changing boiler
I was quite unsure if changing boiler system to a combi because, really knew nothing about the system. I need not have worried. The cimbi system works great, with better all round warmth. Great communication between me and the Boilerplan, the guys on the day were decent guys, professional, and very clean. Boilerplan told me when there would any unforseen changes. Thank you for a fantastic service. I will always recommend Boilerplan.

I had a new boiler fitted by boiler plan this week. I started investigating merely a week before and my boiler wasn’t broken so I had time on my side. From start to finish I have been totally delighted by the service. I spoke to John who did my survey. He was great. He was helpful and took his time. I didn’t feel there was a hard sell or anything like that. He did the survey and emailed me the quote. He listened to my thoughts about the finance etc and didn’t push anything other that what I’d said. Once I agreed the appointment was set 4 working days later. I was offered a separate appointment earlier the day before but it wasn’t to my suiting. The fitter glen came, (sub-contracted locally) followed all COVID guidelines but also was really pleasant. He fitted it immaculately and took all wasted away and checked the whole system thoroughly he didn’t do the electrics because they were not simple. Cue an electrician being needed. By the time I spoke to boiler plan, glens boss had already been in touch with them and an electrician turned up the following morning. He was great too and got everything sorted. In addition to this John called me to check it was all going to plan. I even called him when he was at home (I didn’t know) and he called me back saying he wanted to make sure it was ok. As a fairly recently single woman who hasn’t had to deal with things like this before (I’m nearly 50) I felt really really really well looked after and recommend them totally. Big thumbs up to John M in particular.
The worst company i have had to deal…
The worst company i have had to deal with. Constant mistakes and errors, no care what so ever, until a major complaint was done only then they had to complete work as to satisfaction as they knew had this been taken further the company would be in trouble. Not only putting us in a situation with no boiler for 3 weeks plus but no consideration of kids under the age of 3 at the property no safety or priority was considered.

Boiler Plan to the rescue
I have a boiler/heating annual plan with Scottish Power who sub contract repairs to other companies. Namely, in my recent case, to Plumbcare and to Boiler Plan. I had a major issue with my system in January and after four weeks and eight visits from Plumbcare we were no further forward. As luck would have it a further call out resulted in Andy from Boiler Plan coming to do the repair. After patiently hearing the saga from me and a brief inspection of the system he identified a major fault with a zone valve. A quick service of the valve itself and a temporary fix on the valve operating device he got the system running. He returned two days later and replaced the part. Job done! Thanks to Andy and his expertise. We will definitely be taking out the next maintenance plan with Boiler Plan.
