Waited 3 months for Bonkers to process…
Waited 3 months for Bonkers to process switch from Electricity and Gas providers. During which time, I was on the highest rate. After paying highest rate bills I contacted energy provider directly to switch and save. From now on, better to contact energy providers directly and get better deal and to make sure switch goes through. Bonkers will cost you money and time.

I have filled in the forms five or six times and every time it's come back with zero quote for car insurance, it just asks you to contact Zürich insurance direct - This website is bonkers, it is a waste of time it should be shut down.

Chatted to David on bonkers customer support and he was excellent! Top class worker will use bonkers again!
Bonkers indeed to use this site…
Waste of time filling in for insurance quote. They came back with 0 results, however they have an insurance partner who will be in touch to give me a quote, how very convenient. This is not a site for the best value but a scam and bias towards a certain insurance company who no doubt pay a percentage to them for sending business there way. Dishonest and disgraceful.

Contacted bonkers establish best price for landline and internet, chose Vodaphone who rang me 10 mins later.
Superb service bonkers
Do not use directly to switch…
Do not use directly to switch suppliers!! I tried to change supplier for electricity and was informed that it would be changed within 10 days. i rang up after a week to check on progress as i had no correspondence from anyone and it took 10 minutes to answer the phone which i didn't mind only to be told it will be sorted in a couple of days - fast forward another week and rang again today (2 weeks after sign up) and hanging on for 24 mins this time only to be told the exact same story. in the meantime i get a letter from my existing supplier thanking me for renewing my contract......bonkers they certainly are and live up to their name indeed. i would use the website for the rates comparison (even this is not 100% correct so take your time going through the unit rates properly in the small print) before ringing the suppliers directly yourself. i have learned the hard way for sure on this occasion but won't make this mistake again.
Switching electricity supplier
When they give comparison to other electrical suppliers they appear to quote from highest tariff of existing supplier and compares with lowest tariff from alternative supplier! Of course this gives the false impression that you save money if you switch but this is not the case. Bonkers!
Ridiculous
Ridiculous. First I tried to switch gas and electricity supplier. I looked at a dual fuel deal with SSE Airtricity. Unfortunately it only detailed the electricity unit price but not the price for gas. So I signed up for separate gas and electricity contracts with SSE Airtricity. However they wanted two security deposits, One each for gas and electricity accounts, because I wasn't signing up for direct debit. Another thing not mentioned on bonkers for the deals I accepted.
Then I switched home insurance. Looked fine
I got the insurance policy documents but the insurers were supposed to send me the direct debit mandate form
When they didn't I dropped them an email requesting same. They sent me a direct debit mandate form for a deal I didn't sign up for.
Nothing but bad experiences and hassles ask a result of using bonkers.ie.
Do not recommend for mortgage…
Do not recommend for mortgage switching. Poor customer service, slow turnaround time, constant change in requirements and requests for bank statements to be updated constantly based on delays. Asks for final document then comes back with list of 10 more items. Don’t seem to know what they are doing. Heartbreaking and waste of your time.
Waste of time and effort
I spent some time inputting all the required data only to be given no comparison insurance quotes - just a phone number to call. In short, a total waste of time.
I have been trying to use Bonkers as a…
I have been trying to use Bonkers as a service to switch my mortgage from my current provider to a new one. Its been a very depressing ordeal.
The process began in mid/late December and still trying to proceed in April. During this time, documents have become expired requiring me to issue new ones, there is a slow turnaround in responses. I have provided so much of our personal and financial information to them and it has taken so long.
I would advise someone to use a service that is more specialised and experienced for switching mortgages. Mortgages does not seem to be their thing. It is a very absent/impersonal experience where everything is uploaded and dealt with through an uploading portal and a 'chat' function.
Wast of time.
Wast of time.
Myself and my partner submitted all the documents 2 months ago and still haven’t heard from bonkers.ie.
If you don’t have stuff enough to do the job don’t offer the service. Simple like that.
Terrible.
Rachel from Bonkers
I just dealt with Rachel on Bonkers as part of my review of utility bills. Rachel was most helpful, Thank you
I would never recommend them as they do…
I would never recommend them as they do delay the switch over but even when i rang them twice they lied and said it would be switched over. Don't go there
Complete waste of timr
When you sign up to switch supplier you get the impression that you are been moved from the time you apply as you have to give a meter reading. Applied to switch in the middle of October and only started to be billed a month later by the new supplier and no indication of this until a bill appeared from the old supplier at the highest rate per unit possible, a complete waste of time. You would be better off shopping around yourself, one star is even to much of a rating for them.
A 'switching service' that doesn't…
A 'switching service' that doesn't actually switch your providers - meaning that as a consumer you are landed with bills at the highest reversion rate - and whose supervisors/team leaders refuse to take a call to attempt to resolve the issues.
Pretty ironic given the company regularly publicises information on poor performance and customers service of utilities providers.
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service, and this should tell you everything about a company
First month is not free
Purchased morgage protection, they said the first month is free so I chose 1st Feb as a start date. But I've already been charged for February.
They said "The issue date is 19/01 so the rest of January was for free cover.".. January should be free anyway because the policy only started from February. Just don't trust their "first month free"
Terrible customer service
I contacted this company last September about getting a mortgage. I filled up 7 different applications and supplied all documents required very promply. They kept requesting more documents which I also returned swiftly. I still have not been refused a mortgage from any of the companies but I have had very little correspondence from them unless I constantly email or phone. I am giving up at this stage and will apply to the mortgage companies myself. Terrible service, I really don't know how they make commission with that kind of service. 😬😬
I filled out the online quote form and…
I filled out the online quote form and awaited a call back. When I called to follow up a few days later, I was told I had received a call. Presumably it was a call I had missed from an unknown number that didn't leave a message, making it hard to see how I was supposed to know it was them. At any rate, I scheduled a call with an advisor a week later and was told to be on the line promptly at 9:45 - if I missed the call I would be out of luck as appointments are hard to get. Seemed pretty rude, but I figured I'd see what the advisor was like. I waited next to my phone, but by 9:55 no one had called, and the appointment was only scheduled for 15 minutes. I rang them and told them not to bother. I would not recommend these people - they don't seem to place a high value on customer service or making things easy for people. They also failed to communicate effectively, refused to leave voicemails for some reason, were rude when I called, and just didn't turn up for our phone appointment. I have been simultaneously seeking out quotes and making applications with two other brokers, both of whom were responsive, helpful, and willing to work over email. You can do better.
