Phone number directs you to email them. Chat box doesn’t connect you to live agent. They should be put out of business (after I get my refund).
DONT BOTHER
They’ve defaulted on me four consecutive times. They’ve gone so far as to not even cancel the trip, they say that I just missed the bus (an impossibility given the unless they were more than an hour early). Now they don’t even have a chatbot to lie to me. I have to assume they are bankrupt and just taking money for trips that they have no intention of providing.

I’ve read some of the reviews of people saying that we shouldn’t take this bus. But somehow I thought my experience would have been different. It wasn’t.
I got the notification that the bus was cancelled 1hour before the departure, as I woke up early and started to get ready. They say the refund will take 10-15 business days, so I’ll wait for my money. And there better be a refund!
Please, it won’t be different for you either. Don’t take this ride.
Now I have to think about how I would do to go back to Ottawa…
canceled buses, zero customer service
booked a retour trip, first bus didnt show up and there was absolutely no way to get into contact with the company, nor did they keep us updated on the bus’ whereabouts. We received an email that it was canceled 10 hours after it was supposed to depart (we had luckily taken another bus instead of waiting around). retour bus was canceled in the middle of the night before we were supposed to leave in the morning. Customer service is nonexistent and by buying tickets you agree to their conditions that you are not offered a refund until the bus is more than 4(!) hours too late.

I booked a round trip from Ottawa to Toronto and from Toronto to Ottawa and both the buses were cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances" as was mentioned in the email. It also mentioned that I would receive a refund for my round trip in 10-15 business days. It’s been pretty long since my cancelled trip and I still have not received my refund yet. I am deeply deeply disappointed that I have not received my refund yet. This is utterly unacceptable. Not only did I waste money on this ride, I also had to pay money for another ride for my round trip. NEVER BOOK WITH THEM!
TERRIBLE
I booked 2 bus trips a week from eachother and somehow both were canceled. Both times they notified me at 2 am on the day of my trips. Their refunds take forever and their "apology" is a 5$ voucher for your next trip with them of course. They force you to pay exorbitant fees to reschedule and do not allow you to cancel yet cancel your trips without notice and without explanation. I would give a negative score if possible. It will be a cold day in hell when I give them my money again.
Please take any other bus.
I am pretty sure that they just aren't operating anymore. At least not right now. I booked a round trip and they cancelled both rides only hours before departure time. I've been using their services for years and while it's never been good, it's been cheap so I felt I couldn't complain. My suspicion is that the bus has just been broken but they would rather just let people buy tickets and cancel on customers at the last minute and give them a $5 voucher on their next ticket with them which is laughable. I've had to scramble to buy other bus tickets at the last minute thanks to them. They simply cannot be trusted to even show up.

You name it, they follow the book of running a fraud business. No refunds. Technically they take your money but provide no service in return. Legal action should be considered against this company. Report Bookaride to Consumer Protection Ontario
I have emailed Consumer Protection Ontario to report Bookaride, but they mentioned that they are unable to proceed with the complaint as there is no volume of complaints. For those affected, suggest that you could email the details of your experience that you got scammed by Bookaride to the email address stated at the Consumer Protection Ontario website so that they will take action.
If you want to get to your destination, don’t use Bookaride!
We booked a trip from Ottawa to Toronto back in May. We were supposed to travel today and I thought I would check the pickup location on their website again on Friday. Only because I did that, we saw that it says on their site “all rides suspended until further notice”. I tried to reach out to them by phone, mail and using their chatbot but you can’t get a hold of anyone. Our pickup was supposed to be at 10 today - at 9.48 I got an email saying the trip is cancelled. As I checked their website before, I had the chance to find an alternative bus to take, but I bet some people were waiting to be picked up as the cancellation notification was sent this late. 0/10 would not recommend.

All rides have been been "suspended" without any type of prior anouncement or warning. I had vouchers worth over $100 with them and cannot get a refund. Nobody is responding to numerous emails I've sent. This company is a total scam and legal measures should be taken against owner.
Warning, Bookaride is a scam
Warning - Bookaride is pretty much a scam. Booked and paid for an Ottawa to Toronto bus, but shortly after their website started saying “all rides suspended until further notice”. Repeated attempts to call, email and message them resulted in crickets. Impossible to reach them, and they have taken my money without providing the promised service. Avoid Bookaride. If I could provide less than one star review I would.
Save yourself and your money.
Absolutely atrocious. I don’t usually write reviews but I feel as if it’s my civil duty to warn people. WORST BUS SERVICE EVER. I take many buses to see my boyfriend as we don’t live in the same city. The company is dirty, the facilities smell terrible. They cancel without warning. My bus today got cancelled 2h before departure. The last time I took BookARide, they cancelled my trip due to PARKING ISSUES. YOURE A BUS COMPANY? So irresponsible, does not care for its clients. I feel like I’m gambling everytime I buy a ticket because you don’t know what the issue will be this time! PLEASE do yourself a favour and do not book with them. Rider Express is a bit more expensive, but still relatively cheap priced for a ride 10x better than this company. They are also more reliable- and won’t cancel almost 50% of your trips.
The worst service of the world
My relative, a lady of 85, travelled from Ottawa to Scarborough Town centre on 19 July, 2024. The driver did not move to that destination and was driving to downtown Toronto.
On 22 July she was booked to return. And the bus did not show up at Scarborough Town centre at all.
I have never seen such a rubbish service in Canada.
I want to call it the worst service of the world.

Horrible experience. Both bus rides for round-trip cancelled. Booked a ride to Toronto and back - both ways were cancelled with no notification whatsoever and/or an email sent after the time of the departure. It is possible that this company is fraudulent and/or just a scam to collect credit card information. I will be watching my statements carefully. DO NOT try to do business with them.
Unprofessional
First of all, My bus was booked for 1030 on July 13 2024 Totonto to Ottawa. Cancellation email received stated 0900 AM bus Cancellation!
Secondly, as per their website, the exact bus that was booked by me for 1030 stated it's SOLD OUT and will be stopping at 1045 in Whitby/Oshawa.
So please help me understand why it was cancelled?@#$%^&
Clearly this is directly unprofessional.
I ended up taking VIA rail which was much more expensive than anticipated.
Gave me a voucher to use and then charged me anyway
I cancelled a trip with them about 6 months ago and instead of a refund, they gave me a voucher. Ok, I can use that later no problem. Well, when I tried to use the voucher still on my account in the checkout window it said the voucher was applied but still needed my card info. A little weird but ok. Now my card has been charged my voucher was left unused and to top it all off the payment failed despite leaving my account so I have no ticket and a $44 bill. Cool.
Now I can't reach anyone to get my money back cause they are not responding to my email or ticket for hours. They also do not have a phone number to reach them at so I am stuck.
