Booked through booknet, received confirmation email but turned up to accommodation to find it had been double booked. This also happened to a friend I was travelling with. On contacting them the email informing me of the issue suddenly appeared.

I was very impressed with booking.net’s customer service, their follow up regarding issues that arise and their willingness to look into the issues and offer compensation. Thank you

Booking.net is a scam. ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE, calls and e-mails ignored. Confirmation number never sent. Unable to cancel current booking.

Victoria and the team from booked.net were committed and helped me to cancel a hotel room for health reasons.

Site is a scam. Steals your property details from internet and lists them on their site.
No, you don't have partners that provide you with details. The site you copypasted/stolen - we're not listed on that site long time ago. The information, rates etc. mismatch. You don't even reply to requests to remove property from your site. Money stealing website - fraud and scam.

This is a scam website. Every review is fake. I know this because they have written reviews purporting to be about our guesthouse - and others nearby - and we didn't have OTA bookings during the period we had reviews, so it was impossible to have these. Also, virtually every review is written in poor English and with basic knowledge of the area which, if investigated, prove false. For example, advising that there is excellent dining at a restaurant ten minutes away (a caravan park!).
Don't book through this company or hotelmix.co.uk. Or give the hotel/B&B a ring to check before booking (advisable anyhow).
The company has responded to my comment, but it doesn't hasn't answered the issue about fake reviews. When I spoke to a representative from this company, I was told that Booking.com has provided the link to our guesthouse, but Booking.com denies this. However, regardless of whether they work with another OTA, I would still strongly advise that you do not use a company that creates fake reviews. I have contacted trading standards about this.

I booked two apartments with booked.net at Labranda Playa Club, Lanzarote. The first room was a two bedroom apartment booked in my name for four people the second was a one room apartment booked for a single individual in their name. When we arrived at the apartment complex we were told that two single apartments were booked in my name and there was no record of the second booking. We tried to contacted booked.net on arrival (Friday) to get help but there was no telephone reply so email’s were sent both by our party and the apartment reception staff but there was no response until the following Wednesday. We have since exchanged emails with booked.net asking for a refund for the single bedroom apartment that wasn’t booked but haven’t had a satisfactory response. Fortunately we booked by credit card and are pursuing a refund through the credit card company.
Supplementary: booked.net have issued the appropriate refund, therefore although the booking was very poorly executed it wasn’t a scam.

The exact SCAM that other people have described, especially K Wilking 04/05 whose description is spot one:
The B&B/Hotel website is top of the search results under the usual links such as Booking.Com
It was a UK bed & breakfast I was booking into.
It turns out to be a fake website.
Payment is taken in dollars.
Money goes to....Ciliara Trading Limited, established in Strovolos, Cyprus
The B&B / Hotel have informed me that they have received no funds, nor booking.
I daren't open the attachments and have cancelled my bank card.
ABSOLUTE SCAM

The customer service was responsive and understanding to my specific circumstances and requests. I was happy with the outcome, and will use them again in the future.

We had the same experience as other reviewers here. We were trying to book a hotel on its own website for a 70th birthday trip, without going through a booking agency. We thought we had found the correct website, and when the acknowledgement of the booking arrived from booking.net, we assumed that this was a payment system used by the hotel. It was only the day before travel that we noticed that the price for the room was 40% higher than we expected. (We'll be more careful in future). At least we had a booking. When we got to the hotel, they informed us that the booking had actually been made through expedia. I emailed booking.net after we got back and also phoned them them but they flatly refused to refund any of this clearly fraudulently obtained commission.
We were not careful enough when making our booking, but this company is clearly using deception to gain business and should be avoided at all costs.

Better off going direct as the mark up on everything they push is immense. Almost twice the price. Save your money go direct to the hotels and save that cash.

Booked a guesthouse 2 weeks in advance.
When I arrived the guesthouse was closed.
Called the number attached and the woman said there was no booking under my name or my booking reference number. She asked me to send her a copy of my booking to a WhatsApp number. Her number did not work. I asked her to WhatsApp me and I would respond, she did not. She refused to give me an email to send it. 5 mins later she told me the guesthouse was full and there was nothing she could do for me. I had to find another place stay last minute (not cheap in June in the Algarve). Since then I have emailed and called booked.net and got no response. Do not use this company.

Booked on the 1st of February for a glasgow hotel on the 11th of June.turned up at hotel only to be told that they had no record of our booking.I then had to pay for another hotel(after booking.net took our payment in February)so I am now over £300 out of pocket.I have tried to contact booking.net through phone and email and no reply.I am very unhappy!!!
We have booked a room with twin single beds.
I talked to the hotel and they told me that they don't have such an option in their rooms – only 1 double bed.
I contacted them yesterday on their website and asked for immediate cancelation and FULL REFUND but no one has replied.
I tried to call yesterday and today to their customer service (+44 113 467 9515) and no one answers the phone for 50 min!

Tried to book rooms at a budget hotel in Stockholm. When I had chosen rooms, and *after* I had gone through the payment process, the system told me that only one of the two rooms was available and suggested an alternative. When I chose that alternative, the system again told me that one of the rooms had been taken. I stopped trying. After an hour I realize money had been withdrawn from my card. In my e-mail there is a booking confirmation, but it does not show what I payed for. Telephone support is helpful, telling me that I booked one room only - but for the sum that was claimed to be for two rooms. The room I have booked also happen to be the one which has to be cancelled *on that day* for a refund (while the room I apparently didn't get would give a refund for another month). I get help to cancel it. I will really try to avoid booked.net in the future.

Reply to the reply: Right now, I seem to have gotten the help I needed. But something in the system was clearly dysfunctional, so I would be very hesitant to try again.

If we could give zero stars we would, do not book through this company- my husband has just had an awful experience. He had to cancel a short break he had booked within a couple of days of booking - due to unexpected circumstances - he emailed them - but was told that they had to take the money in full - for a break which was 3 months away. This has caused even more distress to us, since mostly this company states 'free cancellation'. There can be no excuses for taking money on full in this way- perhaps the CEO of the company makes their money this way? We are now giving them chance to remedy before legal action is taken- since no physical contract actually exists either. our advice - avoid this company, book direct with hotels if you can. We have just lost money we cannot possibly afford to lose.
Given the company's response - they simply do not care about people and have set out to mislead - you may think you are dealing with the hotel direct, this company is not transparent - rest assured we will not be letting the matter rest. I also see on Trip Advisor that this company is called 'scammers' by reviewers and I understand why. This also reflects badly on the hotels using Booked.net as many customers it seems have had a bad experience and probably would be put off using the hotel again.
Unfortunately the reply I received is not good enough - this company does Not make it clear about the cancellation policy - or being transparent - maybe they should actually also look at contract law - as no actual contact has been made and signed - therefore consent has not been given to withdraw money from someone's account. Booked.net are bringing hotels into disrepute by this practice, my husband did offer them the opportunity to re instate the booking - but they refused. I say again the bad reviews here and on Trip Advisor speak for themselves.

I have had a horrific experience with this company, I recently booked a hotel break in Bournemouth for September, 3 months in advance. Within 24 hrs I chose to cancel the booking as the hotel doe's not offer free parking and my wife is disabled so I very much need parking. Booking.net has informed me they are taking 100percent of my purchase, non, refundable. I am left with no option other than legal action now. ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING. Update on my issue with booking.net, totally refuse to accept my issue with my cancellation, apparently it is clearly stated my booking was none refundable, this leaves me £330 out of pocket, my weekend away as restbite for myself and my wife, who is disabled gone! Your business practice is shameful, and nothing short of fraudulent. I will look to take this further, also make it my mission to bring your underhanded dealings to the public's attention.
