After much research bought the PureX - needed in-hob extraction - previously had an Aga so quite different! Can be a bit noisy but very efficient which is totally worth it (is very easy to maintain for cleanliness by popping in the dishwasher). Have open plan house so design important as well as function. Baptism by fire at Xmas and am delighted - so much room for pans and extraction is a dream, much fewer cooking smells and definitely much less sticky residue on splashback etc. Easy to understand once you get going and get muscle memory for fan/hotplate controls. Once you get in the habit of cleaning spills as you go along and check your pan bases for deposits and remember to lift not drag you are away. Give it a buff up every few days with proprietary cleaner. So far so good, very happy.
Not eas to use because adjustment of the heat works with the same slide as the fan does.
Also heat doesnt spread as egual we would have wished ....
Quality device and is very space friendly because of the internal filter no exterior exit is needed
Hob is excellent - superb size can easilly fit 4 large pans and the downdraft extractor is exceptional - no more hitting heads off of overhead extractor.
Only had our Bora Pure for a month but so far loving it. Well worth the investment as it gets well used. Extractor is powerful but reasonably quiet. Very easy to clean. Cooking zones are responsive and quick. Easy to use controls. We have bought a protector to use when cooking to prevent scratches. Wipe with HG hob cleaner after each use and it stays sparkly clean.
We bought the Bora Pure hob because of the style of the extractor
It all seems to be working perfectly well with the re circulation function. All our friends who have seen it were impressed by its good looks and equally impressed with the extraction function
We were in search of a hot plate for our new kitchen and discovered BORA through our next-door neighbors. Despite being unfamiliar with the brand, we were thoroughly impressed by the innovative design – the BORA extractor seamlessly integrated into the center of the hob, utilizing a smart cross-flow system to efficiently draw vapors directly from the source.
After 8 months of use, we remain absolutely satisfied with its performance and the overall aesthetic it brings to our kitchen. In fact, we recommended it to a friend, and she, too, has become a happy BORA customer. The high-end quality and effective functionality make us eager to explore other BORA appliances. Highly recommend BORA for those seeking top-notch kitchen equipment that not only delivers but also elevates the kitchen experience.
Underwhelming. Noisy, easily scratched, often quite slow and heat doesn’t distribute well. Regret buying tbh.
The BORA pure is overpriced and does not function well at detecting where the pan is, often cooking just one side. Recently the glass exploded when we pushed too hard on the on switch. BORA were exceptionally unhelpful, claimed we dropped something on it and customer service was non existent.
I have the X PURE hob with external extraction. The good bits:
1. Sleek design
2. Easy to clean, love the fact the extractor basket and cover can just go into the dishwasher once a week
3. Hob is big enough that you can actually have 4 pans on the go at once
4. Extendable zones are great
5. Extraction to outside through the ducting is perfect, not sure what others have complained about A hood is naturally going to get the smoke/smells because hot air rises. The Bora extracts these with ease and I think that the auto function on the extractor is brilliant - not had any issues with smells or smoke myself. Maybe some reviewers are remembering their canopy hoods with rose tinted glasses!
The bad bits:
1. Whilst I accept previous responses to this issue it is annoying that the surface has to be bone dry for the controls to work. Obvious on reflection but can be a bit too over sensitive
2. When using the hob with the extractor running, the controller defaults back to fan setting far too fast - this is annoying because you end up turning the fan up/down (off auto) not realising that the control has gone back to fan. Personally I think that it should stay where the user left it.
3. It can be annoying to get the controller to turn a particular ring off. It will turn down to 1 ok, but getting it to fully turn off can be fiddly
4. It can be slow to turn on
Given the price point I kind of expected more seamless controls. To be fair it does get easier the more you use it as you get used to it, but I do have my reservations about the controller and wonder if it will stop working just a few days after the limited extended warranty expires - would expect 5 years at this price point which legally I think is correct given UK law states that the product should last at least as long as a reasonable person would expect it to - I think it reasonable to expect a hob way north of £3.5k to last at least 5 years rather than giving 3 years and then it will be a fight if it fails in the next 2.
Unfortunately I have been stung by purchase of bora hob too and far from a positive experience:
Do NOT buy this hob - firstly it cannot cope with wok/stirfrying regarding extraction, kitchen gets full of smoke, fire alarm goes off, disaster - we have to keep window open for frying on high heat (yes, even when -2 outside!!).
Another important point for recirculation hob (we were advised go with this option) to PLEASE NOTE: cold air is recirculated through bottom vent closeby to hob - this means the person cooking is freezing & uncomfortable while standing there, we were not told any of this by our Kitchen Supplier, only pros outlined of course and all they cared about was their profit on sale. This is such a disappointment as i loved cooking and now i dread.
All i can say is bring back my lovely zanussi hob of 20 years that was wonderful and no issues with extraction:( utterly disappointed with my kitchen supplier mostly and they have robbed me of the enjoyment of a new kitchen & my love of cooking!
Finally, the cost of filters are crazy at €100 per 9/12 months - of course we were only told this at last minute.
Bora Customer Service please take more care to ensure your designated kitchen suppliers are supplying customers with full information and they understand more on venting/recirculation models & which is best to provide customers with based on their kitchen plan.

Update since Bora reply:
Yes Bora team, i am aware of the alternative system but this was only advised at last minute when my tradesmen had left. Bora, you will also be aware that this is another unexpected cost to buy this vent kit at €300 + fitting extra!!
Regarding the filters, I was not advised of cost of these by my supplier and I found this out myself when it was too late after the purchase!
As they didnt go through this detail, i assumed there was a built in permanent filter somewhere. The most important thing here for the supplier unfortunately was their profit, not the customer needs..
What is the point in contacting the supplier at this stage as I have already set out my grievances to them to no avail. They did not seem to be familiar with what vent options are best for certain houses.
Very disappointed in your reply Bora but if you provide/fit the vent system for me as a good will gesture, this would be satisfactory so feel free to contact me!
Once again I reiterate - do not purchase and to stress it cannot cope with cooking at high temperatures and cold air from vent is terrible.

Looks great works really nicely but the surface scratches so easily which completely destroys the aesthetic. If you buy, you need to cook with a protective cover which is a real shame as the hob is so beautiful. Really disappointed by this.

Our BORA Pure developed a fault a few months out of warranty. BORA were quick to offer a short extension on the warranty, and the service partners who came to fix it were quick, efficient and friendly. Great service.
We got the Bora X Pure 2 months ago and to say we’re disappointed would be an understatement. Stay away from this product. It doesn’t cook evenly and isn’t anywhere near as good as our previous gas hob. The extraction isn’t good either especially when frying meat. I recently cooked eggs and some were cooked and others weren’t. It pulses on and off even at level 8 and there are only 9 levels. If I could give it back I would. We cook a lot and this isn’t a good hob. AVOID. I contacted bora who said it’s my pots. What a load of nonsense. I have new creuset pots, they said to use cast iron. Who cooks with all cast iron pots? If specific pots are needed this needs to be make clear in advance. What a waste of money.
As regards your reply, that’s complete nonsense. Our pots are magnetic and it’d not the pots.

Similar to other complaints my Bora hob GP4U looked amazing when installed.. however… glass scratches very easily.. I have taken to putting pans on a tissue to avoid further damage. Cleaning the glass is a nightmare! Can never have a streak-free surface.. it drives my crazy! I bought my kitchen from Kutchenhaus.. the Bora was a replacement as the hob I picked was no longer available.. I can’t get anybody to take ownership for the product, even my UK kitchen supplier can’t get any sense out of either company. I gave the hob 2 stars because the extractor is amazing, works like a dream and takes up much less space.

I’m on my third Bora hob, and the improvements show that they’ve gone for ‘form over content’, the older models were much more user friendly.
The digital controls are on the front face of the island which means if you happen to lean against them they lock. Unlocking them requires the right positioning and the right pressure of your fingers on the dial display, which is frustrating as it can take a few attempts to get it right.
When you have a couple of pots on the hob, and you accidentally lean against the controls it switches the ‘rings’ off, it bleeps when you do this however if your kitchen is busy and the extractor fan is on you don’t always hear it so you don’t realise it’s switched off! Not great when you’re trying to time everything.
The Bora products are great but the new digital dials are a no from me.
So pleased we opted for the Bora Pure. We started looking at Bora's when we had our whole kitchen replaced, and to alleviate my husband's distaste for noisy extractors. We did plenty of research before purchase and visited our local showroom for a demo. Simple to use, the extraction is superb (ducting goes through the wall, straight outside) and it looks very flash and classy. We have no hesitation in recommending this product - we absolutely love ours.
