Insulted and apparently unqualified
If you want to be talked down to and insulted, Boroimhe Dental may be a good fit for you. Ask for Andy. The issues I’ve run into seem to match many of the common complaints people have about Irish dentistry: rushed appointments, poor communication, and inadequate pain management.
Only in Ireland have I had to plead with dentists to use enough anesthesia to numb me. I have, in Ireland, been drilled into while still feeling pain, which should never happen in a dental setting.
The most surprising moment came today when I asked about filing down a single crown to help balance my bite. Andy told me this was “above his pay grade.” I would understand hearing that from a receptionist, but not from a practicing dentist. It left me with very little confidence in the clinic’s ability to handle even straightforward adjustments.
I also found the process inefficient: needing to take time off work, and now I have to go back to find a dentist I can trust to perform a very simple adjustment. Combined with the high prices, the experience simply hasn’t felt worth it.
Overall, I left feeling frustrated, insulted, uncomfortable, and still needing to find another dentist to fix the original issue. I can’t recommend this clinic at all based on my experiences.
