Box Google Workspace Integration Doesn't work

Box offers more security than most Cloud organisations, hence our purchase of their services. Sadly, their Google Workspace integration has been nothing but troublesome and their support extremely limited. We tried Box about 5 years ago and left due to poor support, however after a security incident thought we would give it another shot hoping their support and product had improved.

We were wrong.

Opening any google document in Box - as promised in the advertising of the features, does not work for us and the support has been unable to rectify this. Even getting a response in a timely manner that does not WASTE HOURS of your company time is challenging.

We would not recommend BOX to anyone.

Refunds, despite the product not working as advertised, has been refused and we still wait for technical teams to assist us. If you thought software companies were bad before COVID they certainly have not gotten better!

** EDIT ** I solved the problem with a simple workaround that their technical team should have checked, as a fundemental first question to anyone experiencing this issue. ** I am happy to help anyone with this!

Deceptive practices

I was deceived into signing up for a box account and have been billed for it for over a year. I have no use for their service so why would I have signed up for it. Stupid me for not paying more attention.

You will never get rid of them.....

Anyone who wants to unsubscribe can not simply do so. I have not used them for several years and they recently started sending emails. I have had to jump through many channels to try to unsubscribe because they make you! you can not just hit a button. And when they respond, it's never to what you ask. I asked to be unsubscribed because I no longer have an account and wanted the emails stopped. Their response was "I am confirming you do not have an account with us."

I Cancelled and was still charged

I signed up, put in my credit card info on the trial, seen it was nothing that would work for me and attempted to cancel through the web of rabbit holes. I contacted directly through the site, was assured the "membership" was cancelled. 4 days later they tried to charge my card $540.00 for a 3 person team, I'm a single user. Good thing for me I had my card Locked. Contacted them Again, after Numerous emails, I received this, as a "courtsey" we will cancel your account and not charge you again. oh, ok.

Bank account fraud I am an Uber taxi driver in London

I am an Uber taxi driver in London, UK. My story with Box company started on the day when my bank card expired and Uber company could not deposit the weekly salary to my bank account. According to Uber's request, I was forced to register in the app of the Box company, which is the company's office in America, so that Uber could deposit the one week's salary into my account with the help of the Box company, and after the deposit, I received the salary, and I Request the Box company to close my account in the app and delete my bank details. Unfortunately, Box company secretly withdrew £172.80 pounds (£57:60) pounds per month) from my account for three months without my permission. Box company does not explain why it took this amount from my account, this is a clear theft and a dirty and unethical act. I have been emailing the box company many times for four months, and unfortunately they rejected my request and ignore me . I hope that the manager of this company will see my message and order the money to be returned to my account, this is good for the reputation of box, box had no right to betray my trust and take my money.

Decent, basic cloud storage but beware

Decent but basic cloud storage service provider. Likely overpriced for the value received.

Word of warning: no refunds will be provided for auto renews, even the day of cancellation. The feature is designed to be more convenient for the company to extract additional dollars from you than it is for you to save time reviewing/approving another year of service.

No response following sales call for free non-profit package

I contacted Box a month ago to enquire about setting up a business account using their non-profit package. I had an online video call with a sales rep which went well. He suggested a mid-range paid package. He said he'd be able to set it up by the end of the day.

I then emailed to say the free starter package would suit our needs best to begin with, and I haven't heard a thing since, despite emailing twice. 3, nearly 4 weeks have passed and I've had no response.

It could be a coincidence, but it doesn't look great that as soon as I said 'free option please' I heard nothing more.

I invite Box.com / org to get in touch to complete the setup.

Overall, I am really happy with Box.

Firstly, this is Box.com cloud storage and sync, you can tell by the logo. One or two of the other reviews appear to be for a totally different company.
I have the Free version of Box installed on my laptop plus the Android app, 10 GB and as soon as I added the phone app they gave me another 5 GB.
I use them for transferring files between the two. No more messing about connecting them with a cable. Sync is fast and flawless.
On pc it opens in Windows Explorer where I can happily create folders, copy and paste files, move or delete items, and so on. I think it is superior to Drive, with the bonus that it's not Google!

DO NOT USE

Ordered a PC at the end of March. Paid for the 10 days build service and specific delivery date. 17th comes and goes and I have not heard anything from box. I then called on 19th to get told that they are having some issues with the power supply and it would be Thursday or Friday when i got delivered. Called Thursday afternoon as I have not had a delivery email. Now get told that it will be the following week, maybe! Spent £1400 and no one can tell me when I will get the PC or whats going on. As a offer of compensation they offered a refund of £7.95!! How insulting.

Finally managed to get the PC a week late but I had to do all the chasing. They need to work on communication.

Absolutely horrendous customer service

Absolutely horrendous customer service. I am an admin for 2 Business Plus with Governance accounts, 1 Personal Pro account and 1 paid Personal account (i.e. 4 paying accounts) and support says they cannot do a 5 min customer service call.
If someone has 4 paying accounts with you, you do the right thing and pick up the phone, spend 5 mins with them and resolve the issue. Alternatively, 45 mins spread over multiple emails over multiple days for the same issue is in NO WAY efficient use of customer or company time.

Do not use this company

Do not use this company. They are. CRIMINALS in my opinion. The cancellation process so so difficult and you need to cancel several times. I did not see the very small print to cancel and have now been charged. I have asked them to cancel on three occasions and they still haven’t.

No support at all

I have 50GB free space and only used 5gb but when itry to upload a small file (110MB) it gives me an error that i need to upgrade. Oh really ?? Looked everywhere for a support and nothing. What a great service.No trust anymore this site as they are not transparent , so if they are not imagine what happens to your uploaded files. I will move to another more secure platform and DELETE my account

BOX.com financial charges without notice

I see I'm not the only one who has had money improperly taken by BOX. I was a free user since 2013, so when they asked me to pay an annual fee a year ago, I thought it fair. Then in January 2023, they took $540 out of my account without notice--billed me $180 x 3, which I assumed was for 3 years annual subscription --because 1) it did not specify on the invoice, and because 2) I received some fairly firm emails and phone calls saying that I was "out of compliance" because I had additional users on one of my folders and I needed to purchase more seats since I only had paid for one.)
When I canceled the account, they stated that the 3x was for "seats", (but your rep said I only had one...) and the $540 was for the current year subscription, and they would not be reimbursing me (see Terms).
Had I known that there was going to be a new financial charge to file sharing, I would have removed these files from the account. Because for 10 years this filesharing had been free.
I now have removed ALL of my files and canceled my account immediately. I am even willing to pay for the one year/one seat because of their terms, but support/billing stated they won't be reimbursing anything because it's the TERMS OF SERVICE. I am willing to pursue this, so let's see how this turns out. Me against a large corporation that actually operates out of another country (UK).
It also concerns me that there is no way to cancel my credit card online--I have to contact their billing office and trust them to make those changes. Which I don't trust. Thanks for listening.
Update: After a very strongly worded email stating that I intended to pursue, BOX did reimburse a portion of the amount, leaving me responsible for approximately 1 year of 1 seat, even though I canceled and deleted my account within 3 weeks of the term. That is what their new terms say (changed without notice). I will not pursue further, but they got me for a third. 😣

Beware unexpected renewal fee.

Just had a very unexpected renewal bill- that I didn’t request as I no longer use the service. I have emailed customer service and will await a response and update appropriately.
Update - upon appeal Box refunded the full cost of the second year. Joanna in customer service was very understanding- Thank you.

There is no customer service or…

There is no customer service or support. They force you to review the blogs and other user issues to get an answer. There is no customer support phone number. If you call the main number option 3 for support tells you the only way to handle an issue is on the website, but there's no way to handle an issue on the website, except submit a ticket. I'm locked out of my account because the 2FA doesn't work. If you can't login there is a separate way to submit a ticket. However, it says the wait time to submit a ticket when you can't login is much longer than if you login and submit a ticket. Here's the kicker - when my CC expired they sent me a note right away to say it expired. I replied I can't login to fix that. They gave me a way to update the CC, but said I'd have to submit a separate ticket for the login issue. When I said I already had but no one replied, I received a customer survey.
