run badly

Constant technical issues, information not sent out on time, poor communication and little to no student support. Every single term there’s a new issue and it’s an absolute nightmare. Some “correct” answers on test questions are actually factually incorrect. Some teachers are rude and unhelpful, and act hostile if you ask for help. Hardly anything is communicated clearly, and if you try email support you just get bounced around and left to solve issues on your own. I’ve missed several classes due to not being added until after the start of term, and every time we need a referral/login for a 3rd party site, it doesn’t get sent to most people, making us fall behind in classwork. Trying to get any of these issues resolved is like talking to a brick wall. Half the time they act annoyed you have issues, as if it’s your fault. If I hadn’t paid for this course I’d want to drop out, I’m sick of the unprofessional service leaving me constantly stressed and confused, struggling to get through units.

I used a burner email because I’m a current student and don’t want to face backlash for speaking out.

Be Warned- Cert IV in Cyber Security BOX HILL

Be Warned- Cert IV in Cyber Security
You need 100% grade on assessments to pass. The questions can be irrelevant to learning materials- You can learn 100% and more, but failed to pass because of an over sight on something not relevant. They can failed you not because your answers are wrong, but because the answers are not in their books. Strict assessment submission time are enforced, unless you get a more kind instructor. Look at their method of getting you into the next phase. You passed 3 but one, and they will make you waste 2 months on just one unit, even though it is not a prerequisite to the other units. READ POLICY below:

Dear Students,

We hope you are enjoying the Cert IV in Cyber Security online course.

As we approach the end of term, it is important to make sure you are enrolled correctly for next term’s studies.

Please read the below information carefully.

Check your results on StudentWeb

At the end of term you must check your results on StudentWeb. If a unit is displayed as WA/WB (Withdrawn as incomplete) or NYC (Not Yet Competent) you will need to re-enrol into that unit. Advise Cyber Admin at boxhill.edu that you require re-enrolment paperwork as soon as possible to ensure you are re-enrolled into the unit in time to commence the following term.

What happens if I withdraw from or fail a unit?

You must pass all units in a phase before you can move to the next phase. If you withdraw from or fail a unit, you must re-enrol into the next term to repeat the unit/s. Only when you have passed all units in a phase, can you move to the next.

If you are withdrawn from units that you will study in 2024 you will receive a Unit Withdrawal form to complete. Please note, a minimum refund of $20 applies. Any amount under this will not be refunded

Worst ever experience ever

Worst ever experience ever! I did not get the vet loan at the time, I tried to put it through and so did one of my teaches try and help me, however, It said I was a suspicious character and I could not get it, so I paid. Now they are charging me for the vet loan, dodgy plus. Watch out for something going on here. Giselle wiped out my whole first semester and had to put that back, apparently, it was a mistake. My appeal was not mine it was her doing. My work was hacked and I left in the April of 2018 and the vet loan was still charging me when I left. I tried to go to Swinburn and they sent the entrance test- however, someone hacked that and did it for me and of course failed badly. My computer was taken over etc. I wrote to the vet loan ombudsman and they told me it was not their jurisdiction. It's nobody's jurisdiction!

Box Hill Tafe course cost mismanagement.

My Daughter enrolled in a course in Vet Nursing at Box Hill which commenced Sept Oct last year she was quoted $1800 for the course which started 4 weeks or so late which we paid. After 3 months towards the end of the year they were informrd that they had to pay a fee to finish the course when it recommenced this year after some confusion it was agreed by Box Hill that the course had been paid in full.
Come the start of the new year we are back to square one with Box Hill demanding money once again with the course now at an even higher price.
This money grab by Box Hill is unfair and has caused a couple of students who cannot afford the extra money to drop out after intially paying up to $1800.
The stress caused by this type of poor management is extremely unfair on students.
Anywhere else a quoted price is generally considered binding but apparently not at Box Hill Tafe.
