I’ve used various companies over the years to overhaul or replace sash windows in my listed London property. Generally I’ve been disappointed. I decided to use the Original Box Sash Company as I’d seen them working on neighbours’ houses. Initially they replaced two patio doors and frames. The result was excellent. Carried out professionally with the minimum of disturbance or mess. The two garden rooms are so much warmer now. I’ve booked for them to do a larger piece of work in the spring and hopefully the results will be to the same standard.

Professional service and excellent product. OBSW were able to specify windows that other companies said were impossible. Fitting was done with no fuss and, amazingly, with virtually no disruption to the surrounding walls.

My windows were fitted last week I am extremely pleased with the finish ,beautifully made , very close to the original but double glazed .well worth the wait ,hopefully l will get the doors done next year . Will recommend to my neighbours.

I’m still amazed at how fantastic this team was. They replaced nearly all the windows in our house in just four days—much faster than I expected! The quality of their work is outstanding; the new windows make our home look incredible. I thought there might be some follow-up work needed, but their patching and finishing were so clean it’s like they were never even here. The crew was equally impressive—respectful of our home, extremely polite, and great at explaining each step of the process. We won’t need new windows again for many years, but when we do, I’ll absolutely be calling them back. Highly recommended

Second time using this firm - first time was 2023 - we chose them as we wanted a firm with a strong reputation in working on period houses and it was completely fine - we were very happy & we spent a considerable amount of money replacing 5 large front windows. However this year we ordered 1 small window and 1 large window to be replaced. Numerous issues with delivery, resulting in me incurring additional costs due to having to rearrange other trades to get work finished against a deadline that couldnt be moved ( VERY stressful!!). The level of customer service was beyond poor with a really disappointing attitude. No acceptance of responsibility, delayed replies and one window isnt even the right colour ( they argue that they cant guarantee exact matches which is fair - but this is a completely different shade!!..yet they managed to match 5 windows before). Fitter was very good - feel sorry for him as the management is poor. Needless to say we will be going elsewhere for the rest of the windows we want replaced - so they have lost themselves ALOT of money!!

I am posting this review out of sheer desperation. The Original Box Sash Window Company installed a simple casement window in my kitchen back in April 2025. As you can see from the photographs, the window has not been fitted correctly or even finished. The top hinges and part of the stay are held in place with only one screw, and a secondary window lock has had to be fitted on the centre beam of the window in order to secure the window in a closed position and prevent rain coming in. The window stay was fitted in such a ridiculous position that it renders it completely useless, and because it is impossible to reach across the sink to open the arm, I have to climb on a stool to release the stay, and then go into the garden to lift the window and align the fitting. The window is neither draft or water tight as a gap has been left exposed by the window being fitted incorrectly within the frame. The removal of the old window which left wood exposed has not been repainted, and has been exposed to the elements for nigh on six months now.
The company have sent out a surveyor to access my complaints, and they have acknowledged that their work on the window is unsatisfactory and that their fitter did not follow the plans agreed between us and their original surveyor at the start of the process. We have not received any paperwork from the company with regard to our guarantee, but in light of our experience with this company over the past 6 months I suspect it wouldn’t be worth the paper it was written on anyway. To date, all I have received is a trail of emails full of empty promises to properly finish the job.
My advice would be to look elsewhere for a capable company that cares enough about its customers, and reputation, to honour their agreement and to provide the service that they have been payed for.

We had 4 old single glazed sash windows replaced with new double glazed units from Original Box Sash Windows. It was a good experience, from the original site visit through to eventual install. No hesitation in recommending them. And our rooms are much warmer and quieter than they were!

I am absolutely in love with the beautiful windows from the Box Sash Window Company. They are stunning, and not only have made my property look so much better but changed the whole feel of it inside. I cannot recommend them more - the products’ quality is beyond discussion. But moreover Penny, and the rest of the team at the office are utterly helpful and kindly and patiently went over the million questions I had (I had never had windows changed before and wasn’t very comfortable with what that entitled to begin with). At the end of the process now, I can safely say to please trust the process and the team. They really know what they’re doing, there were no issues during the installation even though my property isn’t the most straightforward to work on. Simon and Sarunas was exceptionally kind and careful with the property and when they were done, I didn’t even have to hoover (a little thing, but dealing with workmen does not always go as smoothly as this did). A bit over the top, but I really am in love with my new windows and I am so happy with the professionalism and care from the whole team.

High quality windows and professional installation service. We’ve used them twice and would highly recommend them if you’re looking to upgrade your old sash windows. They were able to copy our current window design and meet our specifications.

It’s also worth customising the internal paint colour to match existing decor or proposed redec colour scheme if you can do that for a better finish. All parts sprayed before construction

We used The Original Box Sash Window Company to replace all of our windows over several years. The work was of a high standard. One double glazing unit later failed and was replaced under guarantee. Another unit recently failed. Unknown to us, the company had been wound up and replaced by a company using the same name. In this way our guarantees are now worthless. We agreed to pay for the repair. After three months dithering, they now say they are too busy to do it and perhaps a local joiner could help. If I could give this company zero stars for the aftercare customer service afforded to us, I would do.

Just a quick thank you for my beautiful casement windows installed in March. Can really notice the difference the acoustic glass has made to the sound reduction. The fitters were pleasant and finished the job ahead of schedule.

It was a very easy process and I now have a wonderful new sash window for my children's room. The quotation, surveying and installation all went smoothly without any issues. They were able to use the surrounding window frame where the counterweights were, and fitted a new window and modern counterweights and cords. They also installed safety stops (without me asking) which restricts the window to 100mm opening - important if you have children. These can be overridden later for a larger opening if needed.
It's quite a long lead time, but worth the wait for a good quality window that looks elegant and fits with the era of the property.

We’ve used TOBSWC on 3 separate occasions after several recommendations from our Neighbours and are so pleased that we did. David was confident from his initial survey that although our windows were a very complicated design his Craftsmen would produce a perfect and updated match, which they duly have. The service has been exemplary from the initial consultation with David through to the installations and we can not praise Simon highly enough, he was extremely diligent and respectful of our Home. Our Home is now warm and toasty with no more condensation.

We’re extremely pleased with our new double glazed sash window replacements which have been installed into our existing frames.We had several quotes from different companies but have found TOBSWC to be the most understanding of our requirements and our Properties needs.They advised that we didn’t need to remove our old frames but just replace our sashes and the finished work is wonderful. From our initial consultation with Joe through to installation ( installers were extremely professional and courteous) the entire process has been seamless.

Unfortunately a very different experience for us compared to some people.

Their after “care” is the worst I have ever experienced. They are simply not interested in fixing the issues that we have experienced. The main issue being that they have measured the windows incorrectly.

I had to sent over 10 emails to chase them for dates to actually come and visit to acknowledge the issues. Zero proactiveness from them. Came to visit and promised to have someone come back and remeasure. But I am back to having to chase them again.

They are simply not interested. I have been much more patient than many would be but looks like I will have now have to take legal action to recover the money I have paid.

Would not recommend to anyone.

This is the fourth time we’ve used the Original Boxsash Window Company as we’ve gradually renovated our home and replaced a large number of old sash windows

We have had eight sash replacements this time. Our original windows date back to the early 1900’s, the company have been able to make the replacements better than the originals, providing an excellent refurbishment of the frames, replacing the weights, sash cords and pulleys, as well as installing new sashes and ironmongery, their installation team were outstanding as always.

We can’t recommend the Original Boxsash Window Company highly enough

Not the cheapest but the quality is excellent and I can notice the difference in the room temperature already. I will be back for some more windows next year.
