Work shy staff
My Wife and I were shopping in the Wigan store today, looking for advice on purchasing some kitchen equipment. We noticed that there were 2 uniformed members of staff at the desk in the kitchen display area, both were looking at the computer screen and discussing some matter. My wife sat on the seat at the side of the desk but did not interrupt their conversation. At no time did they acknowledge the fact that we were waiting to see someone, and after several minutes they both stood up and walked away without even asking if they could help or get someone for us. The actions of these two members of staff has now cost B&Q a considerable sale which will now go elsewhere.
Performance? Decent. Durability? The worst I've ever seen.
The Aquaris phones do perform decently, in terms of specs, but when it comes to how much they can handle, they cannot handle anything. They're the male football players on the phone market, extremely fragile. A tiny crack rendered my phone completely useless, while, lets say, an iphone or any other android phone can handle completely shattered screens that are bent and detached.
The service so far, on the other hand, has also been decent. Everything but durability is just decent. My experience is mediochre, you know, just "meh", or in other words "It's acceptable".
Well, of course not if you're looking for durability as well, then stay FAR away from this brand.
Worst 7kg bag of charcoal I've ever had
Bought a 7kg bag of diall charcoal, turns out 4kg of it was dust. Emailed and they want a receipt! Totally unconcerned and useless service! Never use b&q for charcoal, useless product. You're better off using charcoal from other places. They need to rename their customer care to customer don't care. Avoid as much as possible!
Appalling customer service and unable to cancel order made online.
I couldn't be more upset and disgusted with the service I have had from B&Q Customer Service and in Particular John Authur (One of the Managers). This is probably the worst customer experience I have ever had. I Made an online order totalling around £700. I phone immediately to cancel one of the items. I was amazed that B & Q could not cancel the item and I would have to refuse the item on delivery and wait a considerable amount of time to get my money back. John Arthur - The Manager told me that I should have read the terms and conditions. I did do this and to my amazement, their terms and condition (see below) state that I could indeed cancel the order before dispatch (can't even adhere to their own Terms of Service). I phoned 2 mins after making the order and they refused to cancel the Item. Despatch was due in 5 days.

Poor Customer 'Service' ...
We purchased an Aqualisa shower unit, which according to the B&Q website would come with a remote switch. I'll skip the details, however, after a 5 day saga with customer services, who should be called customer 'self-service' as they didn't really offer to do anything to solve the problem themselves, I gave up and will return the shower in the morning. Screwfix here I come ...
A very enjoyable shopping experience
After buying a house and a car. Buying a complete new kitchen is probably the next biggest expenditure. So it was with some trepidation and after several different quotes, we chose B&Q.
From the start the staff at the Llandudno store were friendly and helpful and the order process was smooth and efficient. Several weeks later the kitchen and appliances were delivered and fitted. The tradesman who carried out the work was fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. We are very pleased with the results.
The only glitch in the whole transaction was some difficulty at the end getting some unused items collected. This has now been resolved but did influence my decision to only give 4 stars instead of 5. However by and large I would recommend B&Q to any would be purchaser

Very poor service from B&Q today. A replacement tap and spanners ordered on line to fix one that is badly leaking and which was due to be picked up in store, wasn't delivered. Very frustrating and a wasted hour. Oh, and the tap is still leaking.
B&Q in Newry
I bought the axxys stairs and HandraI'll plus the oak venner steps. A total of 1700£.
They deliver the items with a signature of someone that I never heard of (probably never check the packs).
This was on the 15/12/2017 and my house was under construction. In the 06/01 I start contacting b&q to explain that the items were missing... after 20 callso they ask me to email them. Email them in the UK, after several email they told me to get back to newry. Newry told me to call the suplier. Supplier told to get back to b&q. B&q to get back to UK, UK to raise by email without resolution. UK to go back to newry. I end up buying all the items again. I will go to b&q shop and ask for my refund otherwise requests my credit card to cancel the payment.
They have the worst customer service ever. I am so disappointed....
I would like to ask you guys to avoid it!
Purchase on line from B&Q.
I purchased a new vacuum cleaner from B&Q on line at 16.40hrs the next day received said item at 10.05hrs, a faultless service.

I purchased a window on-line. A window was delivered 10 days later - but was the wrong size. It took three phone calls to B&Q customer service to arrange a replacement. I had to endure over 45 mins of infuriating lift music each time before I spoke to someone.
B&Q delivery is through a third party and very inflexible. I had to arrange 1/2 day off work to sign for the replacement. It arrived today but low and behold was exactly the same size as the first one they delivered.
I cannot bear the thought of calling customer services again to try and sort this out. Thankfully I purchased the window using a VISA card. I called them and have cancelled the payment.

Totally the worse customer service ever!!
From paying for a £1000 kitchen and for them to totally disregard my delivery instructions of not send a lorry they went and sent a articulated lorry to my road but was at the back of my house but didn't knock to say they couldn't deliver it ( of course not if u have reader instructions) then I'm waiting for my kitchen which was being fitted the next day to then found out they hadn't sent a normal van or let me know they was at the back of my house..... oh then couldn't delivery it till 4 days later and then stuff missing when I get it. Week weekend Wages lost and no kitchen for another week as fitters have to change date oh and 3 very young children without a kitchen. So customer services have been shocking not interested in what money I have lost just a sorry they didn't read instructions and cause it was brought on a trade card there is terms and conditions because you get a small discount already screw if you have a complaint you will get nothing....... stay clear of B&Q spend that extra bit more expense and shop else where! No goodwill suggestion nothing they will never have my service again.

Diabolical customer service
Ordered floor tiles on 13th Oct - delivery booked for 10th Nov. However wrong tiles delivered! Phoned customer services. Waited 45 minutes on hold. Turns out wrong picture on website against wrong product number. After numerous phone calls (all of which incurred a similar waiting time) and me doing research to find out correct product code - delivery rebooked for 24th Nov. GUESS WHAT? they failed to deliver! Then spent around another 3 - 4 hours either on hold or trying to get B&Q to sort out another delivery. Delivery now rearranged for 29th Nov. Empty promises to phone me back, being told blatent inaccuracies, plus spending unacceptable amounts of time on hold in addition to wasting 3 days annual leave do not make me confident that it will actually take place. I will never use this company again!

I refuse to shop in B&Q because of the company's increased use of self-self-seruice check-outs. They are awful things to use and a complete pain in the DIY backside. Grrr.
DOORS BENDING
My awful experience of B&Qs White Classic Style kitchens continues (I previously left a review on 26 January 2014). The doors on the tall cabinets housing the larder unit & fridge/freezer are BENDING LIKE BOOMERANGS - THERE IS A 3/8ths OF AN INCH WARP ON THESE DOORS TOP & BOTTOM - truly AWFUL quality.
Cata built under fridge
3 weeks ago we fitted a Cata fridg as part of our new kitchen supplied by B&Q the fridge did not work, it ran all the time and froze every thing solid we contacted customer service who arranged a for a service engineer to fix it he could only come on a Tuesday by the way, when he came he did not have the part to fix it and would have to order one would take a week to get so providing this will solve the problem it will have taken 4 weeks to sort, they still say they can only do it on a Tuesday the service engineer that they send lives in the same village as me, we did however manage to arrange it for Thursday we will see if it sorts it this time.
Brilliant customer service
Went to shop in Newry to get new kitchen worktops.. Whist there I spotted kitchen cupboards in a colour I loved. Spoke to the gentleman who worked in the kitchen dept and he told me I could get the colour mixed to match the kitchen to paint my own. He took us to get it mixed and himself and the older gentleman behind the counter could not have been any more helpful. Great great customer service, also the paint worked and went on like a dream.... Fab! Thank you B&Q Newry. I will be back.
Plum sure shower and base
Bought shower base and screen was right size got fitted from bathroom fitter (30yr experience) he just left was cleaning screen with cloth and it shattered into million pieces we were covered in glass and two of the room went to bq they gave us number of company it's from ,basically I was told I must have caused it my self ,speak to someone in bq then called manger from bq he said they have never heard of anything like that before once again we must have slammed door or basically been to forcefull I tried to explain I was using clothing and cleaner they weren't interested , as good will gesture they gave us voucher lol . Well read reviews on plum sure shower and base there's a review exactly the same only this time the screen shattered before it was installed . Also reviewed plum sure on B&Q website surprise they said it didn't meet there rules lol think they only want good ones
Waste of a phone call/ Waste of time
Called up to find out if they had sand bags and the weight.
there was a lot of confusion on my end because i didnt know if i was talking to somone or not. It's like the phone was just put down and I heard some shouting and whistling in the background and when someone picked up it was difficult to tell if they were talking to me or not.
After about 3 min of this I asked again about sand bags and..
I was told he thinks they do and he didn't know the weight
When I was asked to leave my details I gave the first 4 numbers and paused (as you would do in a similar fashion) and whilst paused was told to slow down and not rush... then it was like talking to an incapable child. all this time I had my phone on loud speaker and colleagues laughing at the call.
when asked for my name I purposely said it and spelled it sowly and all throughout this process was fed back the incorrect information until we got there in the end. I was told I would get a call back today.
I called Wicks straight after and although the accent was strong on the other side of the line the communication was clear and questions answered before I asked and more suitable suggestions made. I don't see myself ever going back to B&Q unless the customer service and product knowledge of the staff ups it's game.
