I'm sorry for the low rating however, I honestly feel that the product description was highly inaccurate. First, there are TWO sets of batteries required to operate these candlesticks. One set for the globe bases and a set of button batteries for the flame on the candles. Second, the so-called snow globe effect happens ONLY if you SHAKE it! There is no swirling effect connected with the battery operation. On the plus side, the timer function is very accurate and the globe bases are nice. I'm going to see if I can get another kind of timed flameless taper to fit in the bases. Personally, I hate anything that uses button batteries and if I had seen that in the description, I certainly would not have purchased them. I bought two sets, one for myself and one for a friend. SInce I'm such a Peanuts fan, I'll keep them but I will not purchase the Christmas version as intended.
