Worked exactly as planned. Unit is good order. It could be more obvious that a connecting cable might be needed for some locations and this was an optional cost option (I'd not previously needed to use a 110v transformer). Chris the driver had kindly anticipated that this might be useful and included one on the delivery load, just in case.

Well, it's a 3kVA isolation transformer, & it is necessary if you wish to use the 110V wall chaser I hired for a weekend. It is amazingly heavy! It is composed almost entirely of copper & iron, with a bit of steel & plastic. Carrying it to & from the car boot was strenuous. Anybody who is not a gorilla would be advised to use a sack trolley if moving it any more than a few metres. One interesting observation: it should be powered up with the secondary open circuit; powering up with the wall chaser plugged in (but off, natch) tripped the MCB.
