I had very limited access to the trees I needed to prune, due to surrounding overgrowth and a steep treacherous slope to stand on. This tool gave me the reach I needed from safer standing spots and allowed me to remove the specific branches that were causing issues. The aspect I liked and which made it very suitable were the relative lightness of the tool allowing me to extend to quite a distance, which I doubt I could have done with a power tool lopper, especially with the near horizontal angle I was working at from a high point on the slope I hand to stand on. The blade is slightly hooked which makes cutting easier as it maintains pressure on the cut just by moving the shaft back and forth, and a hook made it easy to remove the cut off branches for disposal. I removed over 40 branches in a short time, some over 3 inches in diameter, and while it is very physical work it's not hard to get good results. Only caution for anyone using it is to try to avoid cutting heavier branches where the weight above the cut will cause the cut to clos up on the blade; try to cut form the other side of the branch so the cut opens up instead.
