Evaluating 55 reviews, most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Many people found the browser to be slow, especially with multiple tabs open, and experienced frequent crashes. Customers also reported issues with the password manager, including deleted passwords and difficulties with synchronization. The search engine was often criticized for being biased and providing irrelevant results. Some people were dissatisfied with the AI features, finding them unhelpful or even contradictory. brave! you got to be with this browser

when i first installed brave it worked ok but throughout a week it started changing settings especially location one minute its next minute suddenly im in london 150 miles away, google started doing this thats why i started using brave but now not only it gets location very wrong i got a new one which never seen. i was searching for schemtic images for a bike part which i do every day same sites etc, saying 'site cant be reached' now it cant even recognise the word 'schematic'just gives up and says try less words even though its only one word also the outlay of everything is suspiciously like chrome, and this is the kicker i stopped using chrome to not have it in my life only to find out that when brave cant find something it says try google rollback or something.if you like spending most of the time sorting brave out resetting your settings that brave without warning unsets your settings this is the browser for you,i say give it a wide bearth, useless and unreliable.

In Development

-Compared to Firefox, not enough add-ons.
-Compared to Firefox, scrolling with a mouse is slow; way too slow - painful.
-Compared to Firefox, Bookmarks isn't resizable nor can one make lines and other stuff as easily or at all, and without it being full screen.
-Didn't block one of the other my national big news site's cookie pop-up, though in the beginning I was asked if I want such a function and I opted it, and I have a national package for something opted additionally.
-I didn't test Youtube, as I am done already.
-This was the first 15 minutes experience.
-I did go through all the settings. The crypto stuff was unnecessary for me, and didn't have a fully good experience about the settings, though it was just a minor anguish for me.
-Anything good? I saw some settings I haven't seen elsewhere, including in Duck's browser (doesn't offer enough for PC to make me change from Firefox, but when it is iPad where Firefox sucks) and Opera.

Great browser

Great browser. Highly secure. Recommended. With a couple of settings changes you can disable all the crypto side of things and then it is probably the most secure browser out there

I tried Brave browser for a couple days…

I tried Brave browser for a couple days to see what it was all about. I was perfectly fine with the performance and rendering, but felt it was overly complex in its options for its token program, or its blocking capabilities which had a tendency to break some sites requiring overrides of privacy features for those sites. In the end it was more trouble than the ads I wanted to block. I did not even look into the crypto token scheme that just seemed too complicated for little rewards. I decided to add privacy extensions for my current browser then use Brave.

Horrible Business Model

The Brave browser was a great idea at first. But its company went downhill. Its mobile version of Brave lacks privacy-friendly features like extensions. Brave's owners ignored many users who suggested extensions on the mobile browser. Also, you have to use the user-unfriendly forums to get customer support. But sometimes users politely demanding customer suppprt service get ignored. So, there is no professionalism from this internet browser's company. Getting cryptocurrency from this company's internet browser is a joke, too. Compared to Firefox, the Brave browser is a joke. At least Firefox's company has a phone number and responsive customer support service team. What pissed me off even more is that they removed all visible settings from Brave. So, you have to waste unnecessary time typing to find invisible settings on the Brave browser. They are pretty brave to be this annoying to users like this. I don't have to ridiculously waste this much time when using Firefox. So, my advice to you is not waste your time on the Brave browser.

Why I moved from Chrome to Brave and back to Chrome again.

At first glance Brave was an amazing browser, all the built in privacy features and smooth workflow really appealed to me, except for the fact that the smooth workflow isn't always a reliable factor with Brave.

Some websites take extremely long to load on Brave (where as those same sites load within a second in Chrome). Gmail, a website that I frequently use is one of them. In the best case it would take 20 seconds to load, but usually it takes 30-60 seconds, or it freezes completely, forcing me to close the tab and try again. Some websites, like the easyjet website for example, don't work at all on Brave. There are some other sites that I encountered that also frequently freeze or take extremely long to load. I already tried stuff like deleting browser data and such, the problem still occurred. So eventually I decided to move back to chrome. I love privacy, but I love a good workflow even more, right now I combine that with adblockers and such to create a Brave like experience. Probably not as private and secure as brave, but the gain in speed is worth it for me. I had so many moments with brave where I'm in an online meeting and everybody sitting there awkwardly waiting for me to look something up in an email that won't load.

The whole concept of Brave is amazing, but they really need to fix these issues for me to consider using it again.

Cannot log into Brave Rewards because…

Cannot log into Brave Rewards because my crypto wallet is ineligible for brave rewards because it's not in an eligible region even though it's a UK wallet. Support ticket requires a lot of technical information or you can't send a support ticket. This browser is more geared towards IT crowds rather than your average user.

Not recommending

Overall decent browser, not a lot different from the others. The "rewards" that they are giving are really low and even those usually can't be withdrawn if you are not eligible for Gemini/uphold.

They talk about a revolutionary browser but they couldn't figure it out how to pay people through their own wallet. A shame!

I'd give this 0 stars if I could

I'd give this 0 stars if I could. Ridiculous screen interfaces and pop-ups over working files. I uninstalled. A time suck. And to think somebody with a tech/computer business recommended this to me --- are they on the crypto take? At least with Google/chrome I know what to expect. Brave was an erratic screen mess.

Brave is excellent

I've been using Brave for several months & I think it's excellent. Privacy protection, security, ad blocking, easy to use. It's great to have a browser with it's own built-in search engine. I wish I'd installed it sooner! I stopped using any Microsoft or Google browsers/search engines years ago. I was using Firefox browser before I installed Brave (but I was dismayed to find Firefox is part-owned by Google) & I was using DuckDuckGo search engine, but they were censoring search results. So I decided to try Brave and not use the others at all any more. I get more relevant search results and they do not hide websites from search results like DuckDuckGo was doing (e.g. Natural News, Brighteon, as just 2 examples). I highly recommend Brave. Thank you very much to the people at Brave who provide such an excellent product for free.

Brave Browser Is Not Living Up To Promises

I have to give Brave browser a two star review. On the surface, Brave sound revolutionary. A browser that protects your privacy, blocks trackers, saves you time and bandwidth, and on top of everything pays you to use it! What's not to like?
Brave does pay it's users in BAT or Basic Attention Token, also known as cryptocurrency. And while the earnings are low, no one else is paying you anything to use their browsers. But the truth is this. There is a long line of complaints in their community pages about late payments, and some people not receiving their BAT at all. Right now, my BAT payout was supposed to be yesterday, but as of this writing I haven't received anything.
And here's what I think is odd. I have a cleaner program on my computer that cleans up the browser traces on my computer. and Brave has just as much clutter as the other browsers, sometimes even more, since I use it more often for the rewards. Now I'm not saying that they don't protect your privacy, I'm not saying they don't block trackers, but I haven't seen any unusual activity on any website I've visited that might indicate my privacy is being protected. If it wasn't for the Brave Home page that lets me know how good of a job they're doing, I'd never know anything was different. So, if you're a laid-back type of person who really doesn't care if rewards come on time or late or never, if you really think online privacy isn't a myth, or if you just like a Chrome browser that blocks trackers, then this is the browser for you. But if you like it when people actually do what they tell you they're going to do, then I'd think it over before signing up.
