Horrible communication and didn't work…

Horrible communication and didn't work with my insurance correctly. Caused a huge delay in me getting a breast pump through my insurance and now I have to order it another way. Really wish I never tried to do business with this company. Very unprofessional.

Great Experience

Breastpumps.com was a great experience. It was easy to tell which pumps would be covered by my insurance and which ones would be an upgrade and cost more. There was a great selection to choose from. Uploading my breast pump RX was user friendly. I received the pump in a very timely manner and the process was seamless. I would highly recommend this company to family and friends!

This company is absolutely horrible

This company is absolutely horrible. They make you pay for the pump even though it should be at no cost to you as insurance covers it. After I realized other websites do not charge for the same pump, I reached out and they said it is because I ordered an upgrade and that is my contracted rate. I called my insurance and they told me to get an invoice with the price I paid, and they will reimburse me. I cannot obtain this information in my account nor can I find it in my confirmation email. This company is horrible and should be ashamed they are putting pregnant women through this in their third trimester. Stay away.

The product that was selected has a cost that exceeds the reimbursement amount from your insurance plan which is why it's considered an upgrade/deluxe model. Insurance providers offer what's called a maximum allowable fee schedule which is the payment amount we expect to receive for your insurance claim. Unfortunately your insurance provided misinformation. A benefit for a free breast pump does exists but not when the cost of the product exceeds the payment amount.

Credit card receipts are not integrated in our web portal as they are processed through a credit card charging platform without API integration but when your credit card was charged you should have received a copy of the receipt in your email generated from Authorize.net. A copy was also emailed to you by our Intake Manager along with options to return the unopened product so a full refund can be issued.

Lied to me multiple times

For some reason my insurance wasn’t going through even though Breastpumps.com claim they are in network and I know I am eligible for 2 pumps per pregnancy. After speaking on the phone with them they suggested I pay out of pocket for the pump I want and then submit a claim via my insurance for reimbursement. Then, when the time came to submit the claim they refused to provide me with the information necessary for my insurance to process the claim. They told me it was as if I purchased the pump via a third party (which I don’t understand because I bought it directly from breastpumps.com). I had to even get my insurance on the phone line with them to work it out between the three of us, and even my insurance representative thought their policies were ridiculous. On top of that I was promised a call back from a manager named Angie but never received one. Their website is not user friendly and they give false information…stay away! There are many other and better sites out there.

Thank you for your feedback. Insurance coverage typically does not cover more than 1 breast pump per pregnancy and our decision to not submit an additional claim was based on prior denials from your insurance provider. A proof of receipt should have been provided by our support team and will be emailed shortly to you for your records.

Time consuming and inefficient for new…

Time consuming and inefficient for new moms. They get you to sign a waiver agreeing to pay for all costs if denied by insurance which I understand. However, you'd be better off calling your insurance first and save the hassle. Very frustrating shopping with a vendor first and having them handle the communication bc if insurance denied it, they make you pay for the cost of the pump...can return it if unopened but you'd have to pay for return shipping. UPDATE: I called my insurance directly, they gave me a list of equipment retailers that they work with to cover the cost of the breast pumps. Chose one, went on the website and ordered from there. Much easier process to call insurance first, found out they would not cover if I went with breastpumps.com bc they do not network with them. Why couldn't breast pumps check with my insurance first like I did instead of shipping it to the customer and then submitting a claim, I don't know

We are not able to identify the specific conditions of your order as no information has been provided. However, claims cannot be submitted to insurance providers for any type of service, including breast pumps, until the service has been provided. This means the product must be shipped and then a claim submitted for coverage. Benefits are verified prior to processing shipments based on industry knowledge, specific coverage terms as well as our historical payment and denials for specific insurance providers. Insurance providers and benefits are difficult to navigate and our program offers this option to avoid plan members from receiving insufficient information that only a durable medical equipment provider would be able to offer.

Fraudulent Company

Supplied all of the requested information, was quoted a price specific to my insurance, and placed order. Four days later I receive a voicemail stating that my insurance was actually out of network for this company. Went and checked website to see if I put in junk information and sure enough the website accepted the junk information, claimed they were in-network, and provided me a price.

Not all insurance plans offer the same coverage and vary from group to group even with the same insurance based on policies. While we may be considered in-network with a specific insurance plan and/or state unfortunately some plans have special conditions and exclusive networks that can only be identified once an individual benefit is attempted for verification.

Got this website through my insurance…

Got this website through my insurance company in order to obtain a covered breast pump, this website in comparison to others requires a very very large amount of information before you are able to see which pumps are covered. It's extremely time consuming and you really don't know if it's worth it because they might be very limited in choices or have higher prices than other websites and don't allow you to see your options until you've submitted your address your insurance number a photograph of your insurance card and other excessive information requirements. I highly recommend using other websites to obtain a breast pump as this one is simply too time-consuming for a new mom.
