Terrible service in Melun, France - you literally work for them. Many fees at the maximum price allowed by french laws - this bank is the worst nightmare

they just don't answer emails or even the phone - ridiculous, I only get them to do things when I get a lawyer involved

Having just canceled my account after over 20 years, I finally feel free to comment without fear of retribution. My strong advice is to avoid this bank! Very high fees, negligent customer service, excruciatingly slow transactions, a primitive internet interface, and inadequate security. BRED does not deserve your business.

Got a phone call 48 hours ago telling me that they were closing my bank account. No explanation given, but, I have two months to make alternative arrangements. 36 hours later, the account is closed. I phoned up and was told by the staff member that they didn't care as 'we have to respect the decision of the Directors.

Charges unnecessary fees and very long process for wires if you try to do them online or over phone/email. Overall terrible bank do to feed and customer service

Avoid like the plague if you do not want to be subject to charges and con tricks.
If you take out a Bred Mortgage you are tied to their bank until your mortgage is paid off unlike the UK where you can change banks whenever you wish.
Internet banks are free unlike the French Core Banks.

Great for non residents, living in Europe but outside France. You can open a French bank account if you are Belgian, Dutch or German for instance.
App use is good with iPhone and Apple Watch. Looks like a internet bank but with a contact personelle. Works with Instant Payment inside other European banks. Opening request takes 3 weeks.
