Bridgefords Knutsford Cheshire - useless!!!!

After booking a confirmed valuation appointment with Bridgefords Knutsford for the 24th November 2025 - Karl the manager never turned up to our house - when we called to find out why , he did not have any knowledge of the appointment - we have received a response from the Connells Group (who own Bridgefords) complaints team who have apologised for the missed appointment/non-existent communication but no recompense for us taking a wasted day off from work for the appointment - don't waste your time with Bridgefords they are dreadful!

Just poor, in fact terrible!

Currently running through an official dispute with them to get a deposit back having to have had a short term rental due to having to leave our owned house for a while due to works being carried out. We have bounced around to get our deposit back, landlord confirmed we should have had it back but Bridgefords have it. They then said Landlord has it? He tells us no they have it leave it with me and since them nothing.
We chase and nobody ever answers the phones and now we have been forced to have to go through official channels which is surely going to now cost them more? Why??

If you’re considering renting through…

If you’re considering renting through Bridgefords, be aware: if something goes wrong, especially if you have children or elderly people in the hous, you might find yourself in a hopeless situation with no urgency, no communication, and no accountability.
Our boiler broke down, and it took them four days just to order new parts and that only happened after we repeatedly chased them. Once the parts finally arrived, the boiler wasn’t fixed until 11 days later, leaving us with no hot water or heating for nearly two weeks, even though we have elderly people in the house.
When we complained and asked why the parts weren’t ordered sooner, we were simply told “this is how long it takes” and that they had “investigated and done nothing wrong.” It honestly felt like they wouldn’t have acted at all if we hadn’t kept pushing.
To make matters worse, our washing machine broke four weeks ago and it’s still not been fixed. We were told someone would come today, so i took a day off work only for no one to show up. After calling several times and being passed between the sales and lettings teams, we were finally told that the landlord no longer wants that washing machine fitted, so it can’t be done.
This level of communication and accountability is just unacceptable. As a letting agency, they should show some empathy and take responsibility for ensuring repairs are handled promptly. It’s not enough to blame landlords it’s their job to manage these issues and keep tenants informed.

Never again

unfortunately had to leave my rented place due to work purposes.

Some of the staff were rude towards me about it and they charged me for removal of items that were already there BEFORE I moved in.

Repairs are not prompt either.

The Northallerton Team make dreams real

I have recently worked with the team at Northallerton branch of Bridgefords. Jack and Annie were excellent, in their efficiency with all the administration. Their enthusiasm and regular contact made letting my cottage within a week of advertising the property a reality. I can't thank them enough great Team Work!

Bridgefords Manchester

Bridgefords Manchester - Moved into the property only to find no heating and hot water upon arrival, aswell as a broken oven. Reported these issues plus others to 2 property managers. My initial property manager Gemma refused to help me in writting and the other Sabrina makes me wait weeks for a single responce. 2 issues were deemed necessary by thier contractor upon visiting my apartment but Bridgfords have since decided against carrying out the work. I was at one point contacting them daily for help but the property manager you want is never available and does not call you back.
I will be reporting the company to the Property Ombudsman next week for their assistance.

Bridgefords,Sale

Bridgefords,Sale. As a buyer I had an awful experience. Be warned. I felt bullied, manipulated and emotionally blackmailed by Ms Worthington. I was called disgusting because I was going to pull out of the transaction. I am not alone in my experience and the people on the M33 Facebook page agree. Please avoid them. I have had to date this review last year. It occurred before that date.

Newcastle branch deceitful agents

The agents at the Newcastle branch are not trustworthy. Expect unethical behaviour and protect yourself. They have an unfair contract for the tenants. You could encounter psychological manipulation if you enter into a relationship with them. The agent did not take responsibility for his actions. Ask to see the contract before you pay a deposit for the property. They will not make any changes to the contract. Do not believe anything that is not in writing. Better still, avoid them.

Inefficient estate agents office

We saw a for sale sign on a property we liked and tried to contact Bridgfords on Friday 13 September 2024 to get details but their phones were on answerphone so we went to their Sandbach office which had a note on the door saying ‘closed’. We left several messages but no answer. We went to the office again on Saturday 14 September and the same ‘closed’ sign was in the window so we left messages as we know the office is closed on Sundays. Monday 15 September we left another message but no response. It was a couple of weeks before the details were posted on Rightmove and we simply couldn’t wait for them to respond. Is this an efficient way to run an estate agents office?

Extremely poor service and communication.

I attempted to book a house viewing, which was verbally confirmed over the phone. However, I never received a confirmation email. I tried calling back, but it was nearly impossible to get through. I then sent another email, which also went unanswered. On the day of the scheduled viewing, we made multiple calls, only to be met with an answering machine.

Eventually, we managed to get through to the lettings team, who contacted sales on our behalf. Sales finally returned our call when we were outside the property, just five minutes before the appointment, only to inform us that the viewing had never been booked in. They vaguely suggested booking us in for another slot but then abruptly ended the call.

If this is the level of disorganisation for a simple viewing, I dread to think what dealing with this company for more significant matters would be like. I will be contacting the homeowner directly to share my experience, as I would be appalled if I were in their position.

Completely destroys the relationship…

Completely destroys the relationship between tenants and landlords in way of delayed, missed or completely ignored communication. If I had not reached out directly to my tenant/landlord directly I would not have known that the entire problem is this absolute inept, incapable and unprofessional band of baboons.

Awful deterioration in service from…

Awful deterioration in service from Gosforth Bridgefords property management . Since Countrywide decentralised them it just got worse and worse and after using them for years I finally left . A repair quote from them circa £2k was fixed by the new agents for less than £300 confirming my suspicions of over priced work from contractors out of control. Awful, don’t go near them for property management

TERRIBLE SERVICE AT BRIDGEFORDS CHEADLE HULME

A terrible service by this branch in cheadle hulme asked for viewing and the answer is from the staff is there are many offers on this property and the landlord will decide who qualifies to buy this house. The fact is when a person is paying money and have more deposit than the average person around that person is naturally qualified to buy the property. Its business its nothing to do with qualification and it came down to that please meet our mortgage adviser if they can help you whereas i have my own mortgage adviser and don't like to hire anyone else. So the experience isn’t good it may be good for sellers for sure but for buyers its not. It was not a pleasant experience in anyways.

Poor service all all around

Poor service all all around. Went for a viewing with a lady who didn’t know anything about the property and had a piece of paper with the cost per month and nothing else. (Didn’t think anything more about it at the time). I put the deposit down the next day. 1 month and half later with very little communication I still don’t have the keys and still doing background checks (I filled the forms in the same day I received them) wouldn’t recommend and lost the deposit in the process! I feel sorry for the landlord. Why does it take 1 half months just for someone to get the keys ?

Avoid them as much as possible!

We rented out our property through Bridgefords. On the last occasion they have lost a set of keys to our property (and denied all knowledge despite all of the evidence being there and ourselves and the tenants backing the evidence up), they just copied the check out word for word for our inventory (again we proved this had happened as we had been in and altered things between the tenancies, they refused to refund us the money paid or alter the inventory to be accurate), never paid us the money owed on time and took money without telling us why. Complaints just backed up what the manager told them. Avoid!

Landlords AVOID

Don't make the same mistake I made.
I didn't do the research and took the first cheapest agent to look after my property - Bridgefords.
They will add big unnanounced changes into the small print of your contract that make it very difficult to move agents after you have experienced the extremely poor service that I found they provided.

If you need a property fully managed read all the reviews here and make an informed decision. Thankfully with a decent agent now with decent people.
