Brilliant helps learners achieve much higher levels of ability in STEM, in less time, with more purpose and joy. Its content spans algebra, programming, and other quantitative problem solving across math and computer science. Brilliant’s lessons prioritize visual representations and active learning. Lessons build intuition with visual explanations, hands-on manipulation, and concrete computation. Brilliant doesn’t teach how to do something before asking questions—instead, it lets learners try to find a solution before learning the procedure. Every lesson has associated practice sets. For personalized practice, Brilliant predicts the optimal next problem to ask, so that learners are adequately prepared to answer future questions. This includes spaced repetition in weak areas and mixing practice problems from different concepts, so that learners must identify what approach to use to solve each problem, rather than just applying the same procedure to every problem. Brilliant’s courses are crafted by multiple IMO medalists and PhDs from MIT, Caltech, Stanford, and Harvard. Brilliant serves people who take pride in having a well-trained mind—students seeking to excel in STEM, professionals learning new skills or refreshing dormant ones, and lifelong learners staying sharp. Brilliant’s optimized learning experience is not only effective, interactive, and adaptive—it’s also fun. The gamification layer provides scaffolding for motivation and habit formation. This provides another tool to help learners stick with learning even in the absence of tutors or parents who help foster motivation. The content itself is also designed to feel fun—from the pedagogical design of the interactives and problem progression, to the types of sounds, feedback, and haptics as learners interact and progress through levels of progressively more difficult problem solving in a topic.

Amazing app
Amazing app in itself, amazing communication when I had trouble restoring my account. Amazing overall

I cancel my account the day they charge me for renewal, and wouldn't refund my money.

The Support team is fantastic, I bet they’re all girls 🪭
I liked the app, super useful for the math part, haven’t tried the other sections yet. I had a technical issue with the subscription cancellation (hope they fix this sooner), but a HUGE applause for the support team who responded to my emails very FAST and solved my issue in a short time.
Brilliant job 🤩

My service rep was patient and tenacious, she got my account bulling and membership issues solved through several email exchanges in a timely way.
Price tag!
My son wanted to use this app and I it is pretty good.
I have subscribed with 20% discount and expected to pay just over £80 per year... I was shocked where over £100 has been taken from my account.
Why why why such a big player like Brilliant do not report their prices including tax. In the UK this is false advertising. Just shocking.

Good support, helpful people, quick fix.
The support team took care of my particular billing issue and got it solved quickly even though it was a peculiar issue. They may have even forwarded the broader issue to their engineering team, though I'm not sure. In any case, as a new user I think Brilliant is a great product -- and their support staff is great too.
Need for brain gym?
This is one of the best things that has happen to me recently. It keeps my mind warm. A lot of knowledge that been, otherwise, getting dust in the corner is now fresh in my mind. I am not using it for learning, yet. But it's such fun.
And the method, is just great! Waaaay more fun than the University lessons.
Take lots of money without advice for boring overpriced app
I ordered brilliant two years ago and signed up for a year . I found it quite boring so never used it and forgot about it. The company keeps renewing my subscription without telling me or asking for my permission. After last year I went on the website and thought I has deleted my account. It's just happened again. It's so wrong to charge customers and not tell them. I have asked for my money back with no response. Very poor and very wrong. Esp given its a very over priced app for math problems . Thank you for your reply but you don't send reminders - have chcked again- I have never received one this year or last - you just notfiy customers AFTER you take the money. This is very, very wrong. Plus you don't answer emails when contacted about it.

Low quality content and scammers
I bought a premium subscription but stopped using it after two months due to the low-quality content. I wasn’t aware automatic renewal was enabled and my initial subscription ended with an extra yearly charge. I contacted support and requested a refund but Brilliant refused. I feel I’ve been scammed.

Learning experience wasn't worth the price. They do an automatic renewal with any reminder, so watch out for the sneaky subscription practice. Wouldn't recommend

I must admit that I haven’t used Brilliant much, but I can definetly see the idea and implementation potential for standard schools etc.
The reason for 4 stars is that I started off brilliant with a 1 year subscription, and didnt really use their services.
A couple days ago i got billed for another year of subscription because I wasn’t aware of the automatic renewal. However, after reaching out to their support, iv’e been informed that I will get a refund for the latest bill, which in my opinion is good and quick service, even though I wanted money back, that they problably had the right to keep, as the responsibility of making sure I dont have any subscriptions, i dont know of, is on my shoulders.

Customer service is top notch
Customer service is top notch. Quickly responded to my email and addressed my issue. Highly recommend.
Brilliant is a sub-par learning app…
Brilliant is a sub-par learning app that was highly recommended by online educators, but I'm not impressed at all. I signed up for a year of access but used their service only 3-5 times.
They trick you into an automatic renewal and hide behind their Terms of Use to justify an unscrupulous, unauthorized charge to your credit card. No email or notification of renewal was received, just a $130 charge to my credit card. I immediately reached out to Brilliant to cancel the account which I hadn't used in a long time and forgot about - they refused a refund. I emailed multiple times and they absolutely refuse to refund me.
With my first year costing $130 and the unauthorized $130 renewal I spent $260 / 5 for a total of $52 per use.
This business practice is why people distrust corporations. I wanted to love Brilliant, they managed to achieve the opposite reaction from me.

It's literally Brilliant! The app is very clever, effective and nicely designed. The customer support is phenomenal. I got in touch with them regarding a billing issue and they responded/resolved the issue within the day.

Sharpening up on math
I've been using Brilliant for math for a couple months and so far it's been a great tool and I'm learning lots. Plus several other courses interest me like technology, Python, and AI. Customer service has been excellent.

The content is fun to work though and the range of courses is excellent. I had a bit of an issue with almost getting charged for a year subscription, but after a quick email it was resolved. I only gave 4/5 just as the subscription cancellation process to avoid being charged isn't very intuitive but honestly that might just be me.
Below average services
Below average services, poor customer service.
Just shy of being a con.
