THIS IS A SCAM
This company now goes by the name Mini Break Away. I was rang and told I was a runner up so I was made to pay £83 for ‘breakfast’ only. Which was already a red flag as that’s extortionate for just breakfast. They took ages to get back to me with dates and locations. Once they did I was told I need to pay a supplement for my chosen trip (most options were not locations I chose in the first place) which would equal to more money than I would pay for the hotel if I booked it through elsewhere online!!
Please report to Action Fraud UK!

I fell for this scam and they took £82 from me. I cannot seem to get any hotels that are available and no one seems to contact you back. There website seems to be not working and I want my money back. How shameful of you.

COMPETITION SCAM AVOID
Scam avoid. Won a hotel stay competition with them but they wanted me to pay £82 for breakfasts whilst I was there. Alarm bells instantly started ringing when they said I couldn't pay for the breakfasts at the place and needed to pay there and then. The only thing you should need to spend on a competition win like this is travel expenses to get there.
Edited to give a response to their response.
It's clearly a scam because I asked if the accommodation is free because I'm a runner up. Could I not have the breakfasts and not have to pay anything and they said no I had to pay for the breakfasts shows you they are just trying to get money out of people and read the other negative reviews. Companies like this have no morals and are the English equivalent of Indian scam call centres.

SCAMMERS AVOID AVOID AVOID
If I could leave less than one star I would. I'm not usually gullible but fell for this scam, I really hope people will read this before doing the same. Sold a holiday under the guise of a 'runner up' competition. Told they had hotels all over the UK, more than just whats on their site so asked to see some of their lake district options - told it doesn't work that way. Constantly told to activate product online before I could get any view of the hotels or options available to me, so before activating their product online I requested a refund and they refused - even though by their own admission then hadn't done any work for me. When I wanted to proceed w/o activating product online constantly being told 'it doesn't work that way' and despite my better judgement I did activate online. Then told hotels are only released 3 months in advance. Can't see the hotels you just have to enter dates/times and hope they find something for you - How are you supposed to vet the hotels yourself? How you supposed to know you're getting a good deal? Tried applying for a hotel and was told to come back as too in advance, by the time I submitted again everything had sold out for the months I have annual leave. For several months been hounded by sales calls to upsell and I'm still down £82 and nothing for it. Each time I tell them of my dissatisfaction and they promise someone will call me back and no-one does. Been emailed by Darren Pilkington and his 0800 number on his sign off doesn't work

What a load of rubbish
What a load of rubbish. If it sounds too good to be true then it usually is. I’ve had 2 calls, 1 from Durham and 1 from Liverpool. Both following exactly the same script. £17 for breakfast?! Total of £82 for my whole imaginary trip. 🙄
Pretty sure they’ll keep calling. The lady I spoke with today acknowledged the reviews on here when I asked her about the claims this company is a fraud and didn’t seem phased one bit “yes there does seem to be some unhappy people” was pretty much all she had to say. They’re not prepared to email anything to confirm my “win”. Tell your friends and family about this crap. Don’t let them fall for it.
Scammer alert
Scammer alert! Minibreakaway.co.uk advertise competitions on instagram which you enter, they phone you and say you've won and let you know you just need to pay for breakfast which comes up to just over £80 for two days. They say when the payment is through then you can make a booking for ANY hotel in ANY of their regions. HA! Once it's paid it's a fight to create an account which took weeks. Then you're told you can only make a booking 4 weeks after an account is registered and after the 4 weeks when you try book at ANY of their resorts they are fully booked for months and are told to try again next month. This has been going on for months. They will not give your money back. I will be reporting them to Action Fraud UK

Scam
Same scam, New name is mini break away uk. Smart enough to scam people but not smart enough to change your phone numbers pre recorded message that you used under mini break away uk, shocking. Thought scammers were smart? None government registered buisness name. By the looks of things people are noticing what you're up to!
Edited to response, no you are correct I did not book my partner did. More to the point is you are not a legal business are you? You are not recognized by any legal business checks. You do not have registration with other legally required authorities. You are illegally running a curupt company. Why are you using more than one business name?

THESE ARE SCAMMERS Do not deal with…
THESE ARE SCAMMERS Do not deal with them or sign up to anything to deal with minibreakaway.co.uk this britishbreakaway lot. It’s all a scam they take your money and don’t give you the holiday. They then try and take more money off you. Their account is linked to Spain and not the UK. Watch out they are linked to multiple companies under the same umbrella. If they say you’ve won the runner up prize but you need to pay for breakfast don’t say yes or had over any money.
Update: So they’ve replied with the below, you do take money you aren’t entitled to and if you read your negative reviews on your many many aliases trustpiliot pages you’ll see you have and I don’t think these people are lying do you?
What’s your company registration number? I’ll check with companies house? Also what’s your information commissioner’s number? Do you even have one or would it cost to much for the many scam companies you’re running? We won’t stop until you’re closed down for good 😉

Please please AVOID SCAM scam Scam
Please please avoid this (also known as minibreakaway.co.uk I know this because the call I received was from British breakaways but the “current” website is minibreakaway.co.uk) it is a SCAM. The hotels do not recognise this company, they are not LEGAL travel agents, note also that on ALL these “different” trading names the hotels are the same. Their address if you look it up is a scammers paradise where they pay a small monthly fee to use that address and re-direct their mail. (Also same address as Mini Break Away- or one of them, because they’re special, they have two listed) They use the excuse of covid which might of worked two years ago. They take money in euros which is more than you agree to pay (Paid to Hotel VIP Spain-check that website, another scam- unsecured I might add) Once payment taken they suddenly need to pass you on to another person who conveniently is never available. The few good reviews are likely people who work for this scam. Reported to trading standards for fraud investigation. I just hope people learn from the rest of our mistakes who have taken time to try and warn others. Absolutely disgusting! Everyone should report the instagram page(s) too!! I must add that I have nothing to gain from leaving this review other than to warn people so they don’t fall victim, believe me it happens to the best of us. I am not usually so gullible and for a few hours I felt absolutely rotten and stupid I fell for this. But I’m far from stupid. I’ve gathered a decent amount of evidence and done everything in my power to share, search and report.
Edit; reported to fraud action for online cyber scams, everyone who has already had dealings with this company (or the others) I would suggest you do the same. The company isn’t even listed under their trading name at that address. Even going by multiple business names. Google their 0800 number by it’s self and check who called me. More & more people acknowledging that these are con artists. Check government website none of their “company” names are registered. Others that are linked includes- mini break away uk (100% same people, phone numbers and addresses), British escapes, British breakaway, reward breaks, horizon holidays just to name a few.
Most of these if you check addresses are supposedly in the “same” address but if you search that address and then search companies that work there, they’re not listed. Please search all these companies and do your research into them, it’s actually shocking. I’ve even found the con listed on Martin Lewis money saving expert trying to warn people from last year!
If you have used any of those companies change your bank card, and report to Information commissioner’s office (ICO) they’re not registered which means they’re not governed by the data protection 2018 laws- this means they can do what they want with your personal information, protect it and report! You will also be protecting other people. Changing “trading names” regularly when they get too many negative reviews-because nobody will want to book anything through people like this- check Mini Break Away uk. These are the same people. Same “manager” Darren. Which again is fake because I’ve found two surnames he goes by. He’s also rude, no genuine business would have a manager like this working for them.
Check their stats- they have flagged numerous “negative” reviews having 4 removed-which would be totally different percentages had people responded to these so called “breaches” around 85% of their positive reviews were invited.
When mine gets flagged, which it will I have all the proof I need. I mean why would a “legit” company need to operate under more than one “business” name? Why would a company sell you something under one name and call you from a “different” business name? They advertise hotels that are NOT available. They are in breach of many different “consumer” laws, not to mention data protection and illegal operations.
“Submitted information YOU requested” looking forward to “your” response. Gave my “ref” number but I did refuse to submit my contact number on the grounds you’re in breach of data protection law(s) and you already have it. But really what are you going to come back with? I genuinely do look forward to a reply, you have nothing at all. What’s your ICO number? Why isn’t your business registered? Let’s not play these games when “you” called to book my holiday and then I was sent to the mini break away uk website, there is no genuine business response for that.
More updates; their website domain isn’t active which means they don’t own the rights or are “legitimate”
I also checked a different “business checker” credit safe. Not listed are any of these businesses.
STOP calling my number- you have nothing to say to me and trying on new numbers won’t work.
This is a horrible scam
This is a horrible scam. I bought 2 nights break in January. I was hesitant to pay over the phone and just thought that if you are a winner you don’t have to pay anything? Now it’s 4 months and I didn’t get my break. They call me to sell 7 night break again.I placed my request few times- over the phone, email, through the page. No one ever gave me ANY offer. Each time it’s just exuses. Now the usual number is not working and the one which I found on this page doesn’t work either!! It a huge scam. God knows how many people been scammed. I’m reporting this!! Stay away, this is 100% a scam!!

I will be reporting this scam to trading standards. Do NOT use. They claim you are runner up in a prize draw but it is a scam. Darren was very beligerant with me and refused to refund me. I will be taking this further but avoid at all costs
Scam
Scam, girlfriend entered an Instagram giveaway. Rang us the next day saying we were runners up and just had to pay £112 for 3 days of breakfast. Seemed unprofessional and could hear lots of other calls in background.
