Our London club is friendly, the instructors that help you learn Krav Maga are among the best you will find in the UK, and you will get fitter, stronger and more flexible along the way – what’s not to like ?! If your question is ‘How can I learn Self defence’ ? The answer is Krav Maga ! Self Defense is the core framework of Krav Maga and as such, a large part of each class is based around what is called ‘scenario based training’. This is where a defence against a specific attack or threat type is demonstrated and then broken down slowly and practised. Approaching training in this way is what helps people learn Krav Maga as fast as possible – the training is based on simple self defence principles which allow even a complete beginner to complete every class with a better idea of how to defend themselves. Krav Maga was developed in the 1930’s by Imi Lichtenfeld, who later became the Chief Instructor of Physical Fitness and Krav Maga for the Israeli Defence Force (IDF). The FEKM (European Federation of Krav Maga) was created in 1997 by Richard Douieb, to whom Imi Lichtenfeld gave the responsibility of helping people learn the Krav Maga self defence method in Europe, and now includes more than 25,000 members across 15 countries. It is the largest and most well respected Krav Maga organisation in the World. Krav Maga Self Defence is run in London by Simon Pither, a qualified FEKM 2nd Darga Black Belt Instructor with over 25 years of Martial Arts experience. Simon has a background in Judo, Kung Fu and self defence and has been an instructor since 1995. During this time he helped develop a specific self defence course for students, nurses and teachers that was based on simple and easy to learn self defence techniques. When he started to learn Krav Maga in London in 2011, it was an excellent fit as this is exactly what Krav Maga is all about! Simon is the highest grade British black belt in the FEKM, and he trains regularly with senior instructors from Paris, giving the club direct access to key principles and techniques.

I’ve been practising Krav Maga here for a few years now and I can honestly say that it’s a great class with experienced and detailed teaching by Simon and all the other instructors.
Great for self defence and I’ve learnt to be more self aware.
Fantastic club
Fantastic club. Great teaching, very friendly and made me feel welcome.

Great place very encouraging and very good instructors.
Krav Maga experience.
The class maintained a high level of intensity throughout, mimicking the adrenaline-fueled environment of a real-life altercation. Partner drills and simulated attacks added a sense of realism, helping students develop the reflexes and muscle memory needed to react swiftly under pressure.
One of the most significant takeaways from the class was the sense of empowerment it instilled. Krav Maga teaches not just physical techniques but also mental resilience and awareness. By learning how to defend oneself effectively, participants gained a newfound confidence in their ability to handle threatening situations.
The class welcomed participants of all skill levels and backgrounds, fostering a supportive and inclusive atmosphere. Whether you were a complete beginner or had prior martial arts experience, there was something to learn for everyone. The emphasis was on growth and improvement rather than competition.

Best Exercise Class I've Ever Done
Started in the Brixton Krav Maga club at the beginning of this year and I'm loving every moment of it. It's fun, the trainer is great and the members have been super welcoming. Doing Krav Maga is already helping my mental and physical health - and it helps me feel safer in London as a young woman. I'd highly recommend this club to anyone wanted to learn how to defend themselves!
Couldn't recommend it more!
I've been going to krav maga classes in Brixton for a year and couldn't recommend it more! It's a great combination of a workout and learning a practical skill. Everyone is lovely so it's always good fun as well! Big up to Simon (and the other instructors too) who give you personalised advice, so you are constantly improving your skills and abilities.

Fun, functional, and sociable krav maga club
The club is sensational - people are friendly, there is a nice combination of repetition and new techniques as well as good warm-ups and cardio. The sparring and special lessons are high-level and challenging. Can't recommend enough.
Best Krav Maga club 💪
The club is both professional and serious about learning krav as well as welcoming and friendly so that you don't feel out of place as a beginner. I've loved meeting new people and learning from everyone (not just the coaches!). It really feels like everyone is there to support each other.

I went to the two hour intro which was a great experience into the building blocks of Krav Maga what it can do. Lots of different exercises and demonstrations and very welcoming.
Fantastic intro training course
Attended the intro course and loved the class. I would recommended to anyone. I'm definitely joining the weekly training next month.
Welcoming, well-run and illuminating!
I attended an introductory session on 15 May. It was extremely well-run and very welcoming - and illuminating. While I hope to never have to apply the techniques covered irl I totally see the benefits of knowing the basic principles: even after one session of explanation and practice I already feel more confident in avoiding or responding to danger. Thank you
Fun and Informative
Went to the intro session last night. Fun and informative!
I'm looking forward to getting stuck in as a regular member.
Aside from the obvious benefits in learning the skill itself, it's great for general fitness and much more interesting than hours at the gym.
Everyone is extremely friendly, with a wide range of ages and abilities.
Can't wait until the next session!
Great trainer & enjoyable session
Enjoyed the introductory training session. Simon was patient and very knowledgeable. He is a great trainer.
The 2 hour session I attended was a good workout and I learned a few moves straightaway on how to protect myself!
Impressive
Impressive: highly technically competent, well-organised and friendly outfit.

Krav Maga is a powerful ally - Simon and his team help you get the most out of it.
