Terrible breakfast

I won't go into detail but I wish I'd read these reviews before I visited today for breakfast. £26.70 for 2 very small breakfasts and 2 teas. Now I'm easily pleased when it comes to food, but this breakfast was a absolute disgrace and inedible . Whoever thought it was okay to serve this to paying customers should be embarrassed.

Just had the misfortune of trying lemon cheesecake from hear ,not only the most unpleasant I have ever tasted also the most expensive .Brockbushes used to champion local fresh produce excellent cakes and savoury dishes, Vegetarian pasties fabulous . More style ( and price ) over substance now .

Highly over priced cheap vegetables…

Highly over priced cheap vegetables from Spain,Holland and Kenya.
You can buy most of the produce they sell for half the price elsewhere.
If you want to be ripped off go and visit them.

So sad to see what once was a local…

So sad to see what once was a local honest business turn into an overpriced enterprise.
Thought we would try and support our local farm shop this morning (giving it a second chance after we visited when it reopened and we’re sad to see what it had turned into) but to be served a sandwich for £6 with no side salad (just some lettuce) and no crisps, and the sandwich was small! I had to feedback to the manager of my disappointment. Another thing that struck me was the breakfast menu finished at 11am and the lunch menu didn’t start until 12pm so there was a selection of around 8 items to chose from if you happened to be in th cafe ordering between 11-12… which was us… won’t be back! Will continue to visit and support alternative local business who are currently running like Brocksbushes once did!

Very disappointed. We have visited this enterprise many…

We have visited this enterprise many times over the years, in fact it was our default place to go whenever we visited the "dark side" of the Pennines! (we live in the Lakes). The old cafe was brilliant, good food, friendly staff and good value for money. The farm shop was a delight with a fine selection of produce and
gifts. We were really excited to visit the new premises. What a disappointment! The food Hall is noisy, featurless, dark and has completely lost any character. The suspended tractor fills me with dread! The prices were rather high, everything was packed tight, light was really poor and did nothing to enhance the experience. It is also the case in the restaurant. Noisy, lacks ambience, poor lighting and the menu rather limited. We had a piece of pie, supposedly with salad garnish. For the price, we expected a decent slice, but ended up with a miniscule potion of reheated something and a bit of water cress for a rather steep price. Dissatisfied and disappointed goes a little way towards our emotions at the
time. We appreciate that new premises were inevitable and the way forward however, the interior design is not in keeping with a farm shop and restaurant. Still a work in progress, with a long way to go. Looks like we will have find another default location on our trips. Good luck, sincerely hope you improve things soon.

Shop only review - - dreadfully slow service and woefully understaffed

First impression was a massive car park improvement, then a large roomy shop, however, very costly, even for a farm shop. Plenty of choice at the pattiserie but there were a few people waiting to be served and only 1 person serving, packing was done further back in the shop, so that delayed her further, meanwhile 2 other servers were standing chatting at the back. The fresh meat counter was underwhelming, nothing like the promotional picture. There was a distinct lack of assistants within the shop, or at least, assistants doing anything. One young lady on a till at the end, I noticed some logs and asked if they were ready to burn, seasoned or kiln dried, unfortunately she was unsure, so I didn't buy. I left with my pattiserie purchases, which I waited 15 mins for and a distinct feeling of I might give it another go, next year, maybe

Best soft-play I have been too in a long time. Perfect for young children with plenty to keep them occupied. Food and drinks were good, and staff were friendly and attentive as well. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely quaint place

Lovely quaint place, Strawberry picking was great with my granddaughter. It’s changed to be more commercialised since I last went but I do think it’s still got the same character as what it always had!

Vast Coffee Shop

Visited today for coffee with a friend. I'm not sure whether I like it or not. The cafe is vast, tables are quite close together and it was very noisy
We got a table very quickly and our coffees and my cheese scone arrived fairly quickly. My friend however had ordered scrambled eggs and eventually we had to ask where they were. We then had to wait until they actually made them!! I realise it's early days but think the staff (agency apparently) need to be better trained. I will go back as this was a regular place to have coffee with friends so hopefully the service will improve. Toilets very basic and walls paper thin as I could hear my friend talking to someone out in the corridor.

We visited The Courtyard Kitchen today

We visited The Courtyard Kitchen today, I found the service absolutely shocking, our drinks didn't come until we finished our meals, had to flag down staff all the time, we wanted to order cakes, but nobody came to take the order, after asking twice. But when asked for the bill it couldn't come quick enough. They brought new people in and ignored the old customers waiting. I have been a regular customer here for years, but now I feel like I won't be back.
