Bromford Housing Association owes me substantial debt for gaslighting me at every attempt, and every evasive threat sent to me in a way to gaslight the lame excuses for dealing with the toxic behaviour from Pauline who has continually made my life a living hell while I've lived here for 4 years, the fact that Bromford Housing Association has gaslighted this has led me to write to the CEO. Jamie Evans I warrant an apology letter from yourself for the letter you've sent to me which is not really an apology, it's more like a threat, I've never been a nuisance neighbour and that's the part you haven't grasped that's why we're in this situation where I want to move and the fact that you've taken on this position as head of housing manager under the illusion of negotiating my peace of mind, this letter the 17th of March 2026 is not an apology it's an insult, I want a proper apology letter from Bromford Housing Association with your name on it Jamie Evans.
Furthermore, to add insult to injury, Bromford Housing Association keeps calling me demanding a great review about the way they have dealt with Pauline toxic behaviour, my answer remains and will always remain the same, Bromford Housing Association have been negligent and culpable by gaslighting and minimising their negligence in dealing with Pauline's toxic behaviour permanently so that I don't have to as a tenant next door. This is not an isolated case, as another Bromford housing and tenant has suffered the same way I have and written her own review which Bromford Housing Association have gaslighted them too. Furthermore, Bromford Housing Association, cannot be trusted, as they blatantly keep assigning two man team, for every repair, using cohesive control towards me as a tenant, while only designating one man repair to their global properties. For the last 4 months, Jamie Evans, have gaslighted me on removing this cohesive control against me.
I have been a Bromford tenant since December 2019. I have several issues with how they handle customers and repairs.
I have put in a claim against them due to neglect of emergency repairs (such as my ongoing hot water dispute). Door handles, broken-into letter boxes in the block entrance, blocked sinks.
Been 12 months without hot water. Several times people have come out and left the problem with my water cylinder unfixed, hence I started my claim. When they set appointments (time slots rather than specific times), they’ve lied claiming they came when they didn’t or that I didn’t answer the door, not turned up, sent someone else out who couldn’t do the job (no apologies with all of these mind you), and when you do call to let them know you can’t do an appointment and repeatedly say how you work particular days and times, they still go ahead and set them, knowing you can’t do them, sometimes you’re waiting long periods of time to talk to someone or better yet when you do, get the phone hung up on you.

Another review for you guys. Reported serious mould in our house from the boiler leaking. It’s been 2 weeks now and still hasn’t been sorted. My 2 and a half year old lives in this house as well so they’re putting my son’s health at risk. Like I’ve said again. Someone or something should be investigating this company. They should not be allowed to continue as a housing association. Disgusting.
So new tenants moving in. And still at 2.30am. Moving funacture, slamming doors, kids crying, heavy thumps and bangs ect ect. do bromford actually talk to these tenants about respecting others before moving them in? Or is it just all about the money?

I moved into my property and within 5 months I reported a leak in my kitchen ceiling I had multiple people come out and tell me that there wasn’t a problem or it was in an awkward place and couldn’t be fixed
Fast forward nearly 2 years I’m still facing the same problems infact it’s even worse I’ve got mold ,damp and a hole in my ceiling that water pours into everytime it rains however bromford tell me there isn’t a problem I’ve called them multiple time about the matter and they now claim they’ve never received a repair request and don’t have any notes on my account about me ever reporting such a problem , luckily I documented everything but how incompetent and unprofessional to leave me and my under two year old child like this

So weeks ago I got in touch for 3 repairs it got booked for 23/1/26 Today it’s my birthday a day when instead of celebrating I have allowed the Bromford repair man to do the jobs The change of this appointment was notified at 14.38pm by text The guy is already here then What an absolute waste of time booking it in the first place Reason why I allowed him in today is because I don’t want to wait weeks again Saying that bet you anything that a worker turns up on 23/1/26 wasting time and money but not to worry rents will again go up as every year to pay for all the mistakes they make

My experience with this company was absolutely devastating. In just a few months, I went from being healthy and stable to struggling both mentally and physically, all due to their mistreatment. They neglected my living conditions, allowing my home to deteriorate, and refused to take action even when safety became a concern. As a result, I had to move out for my own well-being.
During this time, I suffered from high blood pressure, panic attacks, and insomnia, largely because they continuously lied about the situation and placed the blame on me. For a while, I felt like there was no way out. Thankfully, I eventually walked away for the sake of my sanity, but it came at a significant financial cost.
This company is morally corrupt and will not provide the support they claim to offer. If you value your mental and physical health, do not consider going down the affordable housing route with them.

Zee was very polite and professional. In no time my boiler was back to working as it should. He explained how it actually works and gave advice. He was good at his job and he ensured I had an understanding of it before he left. He cleaned up after himself and gave care advice.

The way Bromford have dealt with a communal leak in my building has been shocking.
Water has soaked through the communal areas, leaving massive pools of water on the floor, the water is raining down the walls and into the communal electrics.
This has meant no lights in the communal areas, just what you need when it’s dark. The entry system has stopped working for Flats 4-9. This now means that we have a two tier system where ground floor residents are unaffected and disabled/elderly tenants in the upper flats are unable to receive groceries and deliveries.
I’m autistic with poor night vision and dyspraxia so having my routine disrupted and having to go to physical shops is causing sensory overload and burnout.
Out of Hours plumber initially visited and said they couldn’t do anything about it and I overheard the out of hours electrician on the phone say the same thing.
This has been going on for nearly a week and no one is taking it seriously. No remedial work has been done.

I'd like to preface this review by saying my long list of negative experiences started June 2022. I am a shared ownership customer of Bromford and if I had to pin point my single biggest regret in life, it's not reading these reviews before getting myself trapped by this evil company. DO NOT TRUST BROMFORD - THEY DO NOT SUPPORT CUSTOMERS WITH NEURODIVERSE NEEDS! Let alone 'normal' customers.
I have lived in my property for nearly 4 years and I have had absolutely nothing but problem after problem after problem, they are utterly useless and refuse to properly help or support customers.
We were once locked in our apartment building because the front door to the building malfunctioned and non of our fobs would work, god forbid there was a fire! Luckily the person living on the ground floor was home and was able to jump over their balcony to open the door from the outside, NOT ONE ENGINEER OR STAFF MEMBER ATTENDED.
We were also once left without a locked front door because Bromford failed to pay their electric bill for the communal area and we were left without a secure front door for an entire weekend. There are a few women living alone in my building, completely unacceptable.
But my biggest gripe - the treatment of me as a customer with ADHD and Autism, Bromford have continuously failed to make reasonable adjustments and take extra time for me as a single person living alone with no family around to help me. I tried selling my property after a relationship breakdown and Bromford caused nothing but delays and my estate agents and solicitors could not proceed due to Bromfords incompetence. At the very last minute they had an issue with my sale price which was the last straw, it left me in a position where I had to let my buyer down and remain in the property and remove my ex from the mortgage rather than selling and escaping the suffocating grip of this terribly managed company.
I have had countless complaints throughout the years and Bromford fob me off with saying they'll create extra training for neurodiverse customers etc (alongside MANY other excuses and lies) yet despite the notes on my account about my medical condition and diagnosis', Bromfords neighbourhood coaches continue to speak to me like a child, something off the bottom of their shoe, they do not follow up on their promises and non of them know what they are doing, they all go by a different play book and it is immensely confusing and frustrating.
Not to mention the insanely long wait times to speak to staff or customer service over the phone.
I experienced a mental health crisis towards the end of 2023 due to receiving a letter from them demanding over £5,000 within 7 days despite the fact they FAILED to set up a rent direct debit for over a year due to their sheer incompetence - they blame a cyber attack that happened July 2022... But i repeatedly informed EVERY staff member (i was in contact with someone almost weekly because of all the issues I have had - and I told EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM that my rent was still not set up!). I went online and requested a direct debit countless times, to no avail, but all of a sudden their finance team catch up and have the audacity to send me a threatening letter demanding it in 7 days!
Bromford are a careless, evil and vindictive company - if there is one review that you listen to, if anyone's reading this, please let it be this one, don't get yourself trapped like I have, they have caused irreparable damage to my mental health through their actions and continuous lack of care. I have been reluctant to write a review because I have already been through too much and I don't want to relive it by recounting my experiences, but after the experience I have just had recently where my neighbourhood coach utterly spoke down to me and made me feel stupid and irrelevant after reaching out for help around safety concerns (currently having to speak to the police about something that has happened) I have never felt so let down and appalled. This has happened AFTER I closed my previous complaint 2 months ago when they promised me they would support me better being a vulnerable individual with ADHD, Autism and a bleeding condition, I'm completely disgusted.
And all of this is just the tip of the iceberg really, I could start a podcast about all of my horrible experiences with this company.
RUN! DO NOT BUY OR RENT FROM THESE EVIL PEOPLE!

So my experience was roughly 2013..
I was in a flat that had roof leaks that was never sorted, neighbor harassment Bromford didnt care about but they ALWAYS wanted me to pay probably 100 pound extra each time the rent was due, this was insisted on.
Now, God bless him, Simon Norman was my housing officer and he did everything he could to help me, hes a great man!
But, fast forward to now, Im with Midland Heart in the same city, much more safe, fast responce to repairs and wide support avaliable.
If your bidding on homes, check with Midland Hearts availability first!

I thought other management companies were bad but they are angelic by comparison to Bromford
No accountability or management when matters are escalated either
Fyi I have called the "helpline" they claim they cannot help as it's with the legal property team and they apparently can't or won't provide a direct contact number.

A very unpleasant company to deal with and one that falls well short of its promises.
Our previous neighbourhood coach, Eleanor Box, derserves to be named and shamed, proving to be inadequate in fulfilling her duties and willing to fob customers off with excuses and false promises to cover for her failures. When I had cause to make an official complain about her conduct, conduct which left me living in a home with no furniture for several years including through Covid lockdown, Bromford completely refused to look at the complaint on laughable, disingenous grounds. Total failures like this, ones that have major impacts on their customer's quality of life and mental health clearly means nothing to them, contrary to the indulgent marketing and silly platitudes they print on their work vans.
They will bully and harrass you. Some fly tipping that happens to be in the vicinity of your home? They will cause harrasment and distress to their customers through their neighbourhood coaches by sending messages to everyone in the area threatening to issue fines, even though it's clear they have no idea who the fly tippers are, or even if those responsible are indeed Bromford customers. Bromford needs to be reminded that this is social housing with some of the most vulnerable people in society who might be struggling through a cost of living crisis. Absolutely reprehensible, shameful behaviour.
On two occasions I've had to deal with sheer ignorance and stupidity relating to gas appliance servicing. The first when their contractors sent me an appointment only 8 months after the previous inspection, and just when I was due to be away from home for three weeks. Their contractors competely ignored the fact that I informed them right away that I wouldn't be there to let them in, refused to agree to an appointment for the following month, and continued to issue appointments for dates they had been informed I wouldn't be there, and when I returned I was accused of missing four appointments and told that my gas was about to be cut off just as we were entering the winter months. THIS IS CLEAR HARASSMENT AND A CRIMINAL OFFENCE. A couple of years later I received a similar threat from a Bromford customer service agent when I phoned them to rearrange that year's gas inspection, even though the reason I had to rearrange it was because their contractors themselves had cancelled the first two appointments, then sent a third appointment on a date where I was due some major dental work, which was all blamed on me. Total idiots.
The final issue I've had is the inconsistent quality and conduct when it comes to repairs. When I moved in it was hard not to notice the shoddy workmanship. Punch holes in all the doors from previous occupants obvious due to sloppy, lazy bodge jobs of filler not sanded and finished propery and a patch of new, white paint standing out against the rest of the door. Brown matter splattered across the ceiling and not cleaned or covered. Filthy, stained bathroom lino not sealed properly, revealing a horrific, unsanitary smell underneath when I replaced it myself. Several windows sealed shut due to old, seized mechanisms. It's obvious these properties are not properly cleaned and inspected when handed over to the tenant, with only the bare minimum done. Unfortunately, this is typical of Bromford and is why its reputation is in the gutter. It's very well deserved.
