Liam came up with a policy to insure…

Liam came up with a policy to insure our block of flats that gave us exactly the type of cover we wanted that no mainstream insurers were prepared to do. The premium was also cheaper than before with far more cover . Excellent service provided by Liam who was very patient which was very much appreciated .

I dealt with Corey Salvin at Brunels Stckton-on Tees branch
I was looking for travel insurance and we are in our 70s
Corey was excellent to deal with and did all the detail carefully which is exactly what you need with travel insurance
Excellent customer service skills for sure

Rude customer service

I was looking at insurance online for an annual multi-trip policy. I called a provider, as I had a question about coverage for new pandemics; They advised I call BIBA, who then transferred my call to Brunel.

The Brunel agent Philip was abrupt and patronising. He asked me about quotes I'd seen online, and advised Brunel would be more expensive. I didn't get chance to ask my original question about coverage for pandemics; He also advised I should organise my trip details for the whole year before booking insurance, which is completely unrealistic given I'll be travelling and will need to have some flexibility on dates and locations.

I wasn't even expecting to be passed to Brunel. From this recent contact, I wouldn't recommend them. I felt unwelcome and unheard.

I do not know what happened to Brunel great customer service

I can see Brunel has great reviews so I decided to request quotes for my thatched cottage, I did this about 3 weeks prior to my renewal, I made contact with Brunel and gave my contact details and an questionnaire was to be sent before a quote given. I waited a week and had no contact or questionnaire. I contacted Brunel after a week and they had no record of my details. I spoke to a broker and I supplied details of property. A questionnaire was to be sent that day, it did not arrive, I contacted them again and the questionnaire was then sent. I filled in the questionnaire details and sent off.
A few days before my renewal date I was contacted ,requesting details of my chimney height, I sent details, I was then asked to send more details.
My renewal date passed on 28th November with no quotes or correspondence. What can I say, I had to renew with my previous insurance company.
To date I have not had any correspondence
4th December. BS

Update since response on 6th December from Brunel, I have had no correspondence from Brunel, a simple apology or message I feel would have been appropriate, I really do hope they improve their customer service as this is key to a successful business.

Great Company, Great Staff

Daniel Boorsma has gone above and beyond for us from arranging our cover to amending it as and when needed. Great service all around, we would highly recommend.

First rate from the outset!

First rate from the outset, from our telephone query, we were very impressed by Brunel’s professional approach. We were connected immediately to the appropriate department, to Rachael, an absolute asset to Brunel! She understood the restrictions of our situation, shared our concerns, delved into a number of possibilities and persevered until she had found a policy which matched exactly what we needed. We would like to pass on our gratitude to her for ending for us what had been a long and tortuous experience with a number of other companies. Thank you!

I am not competent to rate the broker…

I am not competent to rate the broker as I don’t know enough about the company, but I can say that I have been impressed with two of their representatives.

One is Steve May, high up in the management hierarchy, I assume, who is very competent and helpful to clients. Steven is also eloquent but doesn’t use evasive, lawyer like language or sound bites.

The other exceptionally helpful gentleman is Daniel Boorsma. He is punctual, well organised, meticulous in his approach, and very diligent at following up and completing required objectives.

I have had no hesitation to recommend those two gentlemen to my friends and colleagues.

Excellent and responsive brokers

Brunel Insurance Brokers provide an excellent personal service. We are in the events industry and we have been using them for years. Wendy deals with our account and she goes out of her way to help.

Knowledgable and down to earth

We found Tom to be knowledgable , thorough and down to earth. He took the time to understand our situation and advised accordingly. Very happy with the service we received from Brunel.

Left uninsured and not called back

I used Brunel for a few years and was told at the end of December that they couldn't find me any insurance for my work despite having an extremely low accident rate and never making a claim. They gave me just over two weeks to find new insurance, because this was over the Christmas period it made it incredibly difficult to find brokers that were open long enough to find me a quote. They did there best to get me an extension, however when they couldn't do this they failed to call me and tell me that they were unsuccessful leaving me in the dark. The individual dealing with me was called Robert who I felt did not plan accordingly for this situation.

Would recommend!

Like many companies we had stuck with the same insurance broker for years. After Brunel quoted for us we changed over. Not only the price but the personal service we got and face to face which we lost with our other broker made it an easy choice to switch!
Never looked back and still very competitive.

Getting us insured in difficult circumstances

We have been using John from Brunel for several years now. He understands the complexities of our land surveying business and the expensive equipment we carry. This saves us precious time in filling out long forms and trying to explain what we need each year. We are moving offices and the nearby river has made getting insurer difficult. John went out of his way to find a clever solution to keep us fully covered. I'm very grateful for Brunel's help and would highly recommend to others.

Marine Insurance for Heritage Charity

Obtaining insurances for a small charity that maintains and sails five historic wooden boats on the Norfolk Broads is no easy task.
