Amongst the worst airports serving an EU Capital. And they also pretend to be the European Capital!!! Incompetent personnel at the luggage controls and scanning devices probably dating back to 20 year... See more

Few months ago I had to stay overnight in the airport. There were many homeless people at the arrival section, where I stayed, and some I would say were behaving quite strangely which made me feel unsafe. The only concern of the airport security was to check on me and other passengers if our documents were ok, but I haven't seen any control on the people who didn't belong to that place. Yesterday I had another bad experience, when I encountered in the elevator a drunk and very aggressive guy (obviously from the category I mentioned above) and nobody from the airport was taking any measure. I recommend using other airports in Belgium, whenever feasible (Charleroi, for instance, seems safer, cleaner, with more friendly atmosphere)

Connecting from a flight from Washington to a flight to Istanbul did not require any passport control. I just walked a few gates down the terminal and boarded the flight. Returning from Istanbul and connecting to a flight to Washington, I had to go through passport control, exit the terminal, and go through security and passport control again, before having to run to gate 37! The process is ridiculous, with nobody to ask for directions.

Horrendous queues. Passport check took over 30 minutes and it took almost 2 hours from front door to the gate. I had to run from passport control to my gate as I was at risk of missing my flight. As othered were delayed our flight was then delayed. Nobody was really manatee various queues to take action
A truly hideous airport, bad design and not fit for purpose

Words can’t describe this airport. It serves the great Belgium community and between the airport being set back in the 80’s , Border Police and the long lines. My strong advice to you all is drive in from Amsterdam or any other place. This is NOT a traveller friendly airport. Very sad !!!

After an overnight flight, arriving already tired, we were forced to wait 3.5 hours standing in line for passport control. There were easily 1000 people in line, some of whom were elderly or parents with young children. The real outrage is that when you finally arrive at the front of the queue, there is ONLY one border agent working. When I asked the agent about the unreasonable delay, she shrugged and said it's been the same for the past few months. Clearly no effort by airport authorities to rectify this totally unacceptable and dangerous situation.

The queue for passport control was approximately 500 people long and there was no sense of urgency with passport control to lesson it.
It was the longest queue I had even been in.
I felt sorry for the elderly or families with small children as the queue took 1 hour 8 minutes to go through after landing.
The frustrating part was that there were 8 empty lanes for EU citizens which British people are not entitled to thanks to Brexit.

The worst airport we have ever been. we were waiting in the long line for 2 hours for the custom control. Will never come back!!

The most expensive terminals I have ever been to. Shops are there to absolutely fleece you. Black coffee for €4.50 ??? Basic ham sandwich €6.50 ? Burger €18 ??? Queues everywhere, automatic passport control not working properly and causing queues of frustrated people but we were all funnelled into them even though clearly not functioning properly.

Lousy airport. We had a flight at gate B, our printed boarding pass stated T which was clearly outdated. We lined up at gate B for 20 minutes. The immigration officer insisted we go to gate T, he refused to listen when we told him it had been updated. Gate T- is a whole 25 min walk away.
After checking with another customer service officer, she double checked, confirmed it was gate B. Had to walk all the way back and expected to wait in line again. They let us through after we complained, but as an international airport, can your staff not be updated with the latest flight changes?!

One of the worst airports to arrive to. To get out of the airport the passport control is woefully understaffed. We waited for close to two hours to get to our luggage carousel! The line was at least 300 m long and only 2 of 8 available controllers were on duty. Same on the return. Waited for one hour to have my passport stampped. Avoid Brussels at all cost!

Worst airport in the world, passport line was 4 hours!
Incompetent and callous service, avoid at all cost

After a Trans Atlantic all night flight only to find a massive crowd waiting at passport control was totally unacceptable. We were in line for over 2 hours and there were only 2 booths staffed! There is no way we would ever fly into this airport again. Total chaos.

Probably the worst airport I have ever been to. The most horrendous line at border control, no efficiency whatsoever, just ridiculous wait times.
Do not here, fly from here... get the train avoid at all cost

4.5 hour passport queue on arrival. Got up at 4am to get to a funeral. Landed at 8.30 and didn’t leave airport till 1.30pm. Avoid this airport. They have 5 people working the short EU queue and 2 people working the multiple thousand people All Passports queue. Dire.

Three and a half hours in an arrival queue today. Absolutely appalling. No information or explanation. Older people without seating, refreshment or accessible toilets. People missed flights and onward connections. It was the complete lack of any contrition or apology that made this experience so disgraceful. A complete overhaul of this operation at Brussels airport is long overdue.

What pathetic experience at Passport control for NON-EUROPEANS!! We stood 4 hours in the passport control. Not to say it doesn’t happen elsewhere, we had a long queue in South Africa but they brought in additional passport control officers to resolve the queue. All that to say please don’t ever lecture us Africans about incompetence staff and improper planning.

Utterly terrible, worst arrivals security I’ve ever had the misfortune of transiting. Staff care nothing, queues are horrendous. It’s actually quicker to arrive at Charleroi and walk/crawl to Brussels. Should be ashamed of themselves - centre of Europe? Centre of ignorance is more appropriate.

Appalling experience. Over 2.5 hours to get through passport control on arrival. Two booths out of 8 open. People trying to get to work or travelling with families. Half a day wasted. Think about this carefully if planning a short trip to Belgium. A disgrace

If I could give this airport a 0, I would. My family and I have been to brussel airport twice and it is absolutely HORRIBLE. We paid 450 euros for valet parking. Before we arrived by car, we had to call 30 minutes ahead to let them know. We then arrive at the valet parking pick up spot... Nobody there. We had to wait for 30 minutes for someone to show up. Then on the way back, we called them to let them know that we landed, they told us to wait at busstation E for our car. So we waited... and waited... and waited.... then called again, only to be told that a van was going to pick us up in 10 minutes to BRING us to our car... Doesn't that defeaf the whole purpose of this extremely expensive valet parking???????? Then we wait for the shuttle bus for 25 minutes, NOT 10. Only to discover our car on some random parking spot 10 minutes away from the airport. And the worst part is, we paid for INSIDE parking, but get our car back covered in dust, dirt and dried up rain marks.... aka, it was most likely left outside the whole time.BRUSSEL AIRPORT ONLY HAS INCOMPETENT PEOPLE. DO NOT FLY FROM HERE!!!!
