In March 2025 we visited the BuildMyPlace showroom and purchased flooring. They sent an installer who spoke no English, and we had to communicate with our phone with translation. Once it was down, they had to come back to repair it two times for areas that needed repair and after two times, it still wasn’t fixed. The 3rd time the installer had left town and we finally paid another installer to repair the job. On November 11th I sent them the bill, and haven’t heard from them since.

I have now ordered new flooring from Lowe’s to replace the inferior quality they sold me. I have done business with Lowe’s for many, many years and have always had excellent service and installers. I sincerely regret not having done it with them in the first place.

Needless to say, due to my experience and from other reviews posted here, I do not recommend them for anything. You can use your own judgement if you are looking for quality sales and service.

I am having a horrific experience

I am having a horrific experience. I purchased 96” tall filler molding online and paid for shipping (which they determined). Then a week later they sent me an email stating that they wanted to cut my molding down to 30” OR they were going to force me to pay an additional $500 in shipping charges! I responded immediately, No thanks, please cancel my order and refund my money. That was almost 8 weeks ago! I still haven’t been refunded and I never received my merchandise which I paid for.

I have been met with ignorance and stupidity at every phase of my interactions with this business. From the customer service representative, Moe, warehouse manager, executive assistant, Rose; the CEO, Rahul. None of them had the ability to resolve a very simple refund. When I disputed the payment with my bank, they finally responded and said I had to cancel the dispute and THEN we will pay. I obliged their request, sent them confirmation, then they STILL wouldn’t refund me! Then they had the audacity to tell me to reopen the claim with my bank so it would take another 75 days to get my refund! Absolutely insane. Unequivocally stupid.

So unless you want to get scammed out of your money, STAY AWAY FRON THIS COMPANY! I have the receipts and emails to confirm this experience at every phase. These are facts and you are asking for trouble if you buy something from this business.

AWFUL EXPERIENCE

AWFUL EXPERIENCE. It took 5 months to finally get all of my cabinets after 3 incomplete deliveries, 1 wrong custom cabinet, damaged pieces, misaligned assembly, passed off to three separate people, and broken promises to call back. First delivery, Buildmyplace gave me the wrong cabinets (I had to unload them from the truck myself because the pallet was too large for the liftgate) and I tried for months to get them to retrieve them until finally they told me they wouldn’t. So, not only have these been taking up space for months, it’s now up to me to get rid of them. I had to throw a hail mary and guess the CEO's email address in order to get things moving and it still took over a month. If I hadn't done that I would have been in limbo indefinitely. I paid to have the cabinets pre-assembled and ended up having to replace doors as they were misaligned or damaged or doors on wrong side (I ended up having to just flip a wall cabinet - leaving the undersides mismatched- which you can see when walking up the stairs). Upon replacing the wall cabinet doors, the screws just kept turning because the glue holding the plastic female housing failed so it was just spinning. I had to pull the hinge out which damaged the cutout for the hinge base. This is when I learned that the doors to the wall cabinets are MDF NOT WOOD! Before I placed the order, I asked the designer to verify that the cabinets were all made of wood and she confirmed they were. This is yet another major issue that I've had buying cabinets from Buildmyplace. On top of this, the doors on the custom cabinet that I ordered don't slide smoothly. I have to push them in until the soft-close hinges enact and a plastic adjustment piece was broken upon arrival. I asked for some kind of refund for this nightmare - at least be reimbursed for the assembly fees as I had to take apart and reassemble parts myself and was told no. Then they just stopped responding to me. This has been the worst experience I've ever had dealing with a company. So much so that this is the first review I've ever written.

I had a very positive experience with Shraddha at Build My Place. She was very knowledgeable and incredibly fast in assisting me with completing my cabinet purchase. Her knowledge and efficiency made the process so much easier for me. I am very grateful for her help and would definitely recommend her excellent customer service to others. Thank you!

The cabinets were of great quality and…

The cabinets were of great quality and the customer service was very good. The few problems that I had with the cabinets were resolved in a timely manner. I am pleased with how Himani worked with me during the design phase and followed through with me during the the shipping, replacement, and final phases of the cabinet installation. Great company and team to work with.

Incredible customer service

I'd been on the buildmyplace.com website, shopping around for some tricky size kitchen cabinets I couldn't find elsewhere. I left the items in my cart because the wall filler I needed was out of stock and I wanted to speak to someone about it. The next thing I know, I get a call from Shraddha (Mini) who was so incredibily helpful! She found the filler I was looking for and helped me place my order. Really excellent, proactive customer service - I've never experienced anything like it.

Best customer service ever!

I cannot be more pleased with the outstanding customer service I received from Abbott and Kim from the moment I placed my order. Abbott listened to my concerns about the product and did his absolute best to ensure that I would be a happy customer. He was willing to give discounts on larger orders even on top of the website’s already great deals! Kim was extremely pleasant and patiently answered all my questions. I will definitely be ordering from BUILDMYPLACE in the future especially for my tile and bathroom renovation needs. Customer care is impeccable and difficult to find at other online tile companies. Phone calls are answered by a live representative who is truly interested in helping you get what you need for the best competitive prices. Do not hesitate to purchase from this company. You will not be disappointed!

Don’t stand behind products

In my opinion build my place is a seller of inferior goods with terrible service. They sent me a vanity with a broken top and they have completely abandoned any responsibility for the item. Their customer service rep promises corrective action but no follow through. They held up my entire project and they have no concern for me as a customer. They are represent the worst of online merchants.

Great customer service

Great customer service! Megan was extremely knowledgeable and, based on her help, I felt confident doing business with buildmyplace. My product came very well packaged. 3 bullnose edges had factory flaw, and Megan quickly resolved the issue.

Very pleased customer

I ordered flooring from Build my Place for a customer's repair and as soon as I placed the order nice things started happening. I started receiving e-mails in reference to my order and as soon as my order arrived I received another e mail confirming the delivery. To make the experience more pleasing, I received a call from Kim to make sure I was satisfied with the product I had ordered. Thank you Kim and crew for your professionalism and I will make sure to order again from you and I will certainly recommend your company to anyone. Thanks a million

Himani was amazing and professional

My experience with buildmyplace has been awesome! And rhis because of ms Himani. She worked very hard and diligently for a long time on creating me a design that was top tier. She was extremely patient with me, very considerate, and she gave me options. She listened to my ideas and she over delivered! I am very pleased with the color and design. I will be using her for my investment properties. She is a great asset to this company

Customer service was absolutely outstanding!!

Customer service was absolutely outstanding!! A LOUD shout out to Megan!! She went out of her way to assist me and help me get what I needed to make a decision. My living room has 23 foot vaulted ceilings and the ledgerstone was going to go all the way up to the ceiling. I really wanted to be able to see and visualize the ledger stone on and around my fireplace before I ordered to make sure it was going to look fantastic. She suggested that the designers on her team could do that for me. I sent her a photo of my living room space and fireplace and within an hour or so she sent back a photo with the ledgerstone applied to my fireplace space. It looked great and it gave me the confidence to place the order knowing that it was going to look awesome in my room. Megan went above and beyond...kudos to her!!

I have ordered this sink cabinet quite awhile ago. Fed Exress delivered it and then picked it up. It is now out for delivery again. I had to pay my installer twice to assemble and install this as he put aside the time anticipating the first delivery. This is frustrating. Your people (Megan) have been very kind and helpful, but you need a word with delivery.
