Bunches Direct delivered DEAD, ROTTING flowers

Bunches Direct delivered DEAD and ROTTING flowers to a bride TWO DAYS BEFORE HER WEDDING!

In general I don't like to post negative reviews, but I had to call out this company for creating this situation.

Can you imagine the unmitigated gall of a florist to do something like that to a young bride? Our young bride took tons of time, over the course of weeks, carefully picking flowers and planning arrangements to give her special day a joyful, personal touch. This company took her money, then derailed her efforts and saddled her with enormous additional stress. The flowers were not shipped in a refrigerated state, nor were they provided with any hydration to sustain them during transit - something any decent florist knows to do. In fact, it even said on the boxes that the contents must be kept between 3°and 7°C - which was obviously not the case. The owners of this company either have no control over their people & processes, or are not actually interested in selling flowers. The company's carelessness was unspeakable.

We have tried reaching Bunches Direct by email and phone, and provided lots of photographs of the flowers taken right after they were received. Bunches Direct responded more than 24 hours later, but demanded additional detailed photo evidence and outright dismissed some of the claim for decaying flowers they opined were "usable". There has been no response to any subsequent emails and the additional evidence we provided. Hopefully posting about this disastrous experience publicly as a warning to others may also get that buchesdirect.ca moving on refunds to the bride and groom's money. Meanwhile, please beware. The cost savings disappear when your flowers arrive in a bad state, and leave you no time to change your plans.

To do better, this company needs to adhere to the conditions set out by Fedex or any other shippers they use) for shipping perishable items - even overnight. They also need to put a lot more people on their customer support lines/email, and expedite refunds. Based on the many other reviews I've now found, both their procedures and service appear lacking, and have been for many years.

Fraudulent company BunchesDirect.

Fraudulent company BunchesDirect.

Bottom line: they meet the legal definition of a fraudulent company.
We were sent dead flowers and we were not refunded as they said the flowers had been ‘delivered’.
Basically they stole $700 from us.

I was not impressed with the freesias...

I was not impressed with the freesias I received from Bunches Direct. I had ordered a freesia bouquet for my parents from another mail order flower company in the past and my parents reported that the flowers arrived yet to bloom but then began and continued to bloom throughout the week. The color of those freesias matched very similar to what was shown on the website and overall, they were very impressed with the bouquet. Their experience with that freesia bouquet is what made me want to use freesias for the vases for my wedding. Bunches Direct was one of the few companies that sold freesias and since I had used multiple different online flower companies in the past and always had good results, I assumed Bunches Direct would offer the same quality.

With the bunches direct freesias, I expected a similar situation: flowers not yet blooming and with colors similar to what was shown on the website. Instead, what arrive were freesias that were practically white with the exception of some faint color....pale pink and pale purple vs. a bold pink and bold purple that was advertised in the online pictures. I realize that flower color can vary and that there is a disclaimer on the website stating this, but had I known that the colors would be THAT light colored, I would not have bothered to order white freesias in addition to the pink and purple!!! On top of that, the few flowers that had already begun blooming were crispy and appeared dried up. These flowers ultimately went into small vases used as decorations in the chapel for our intimate wedding. We ended up adding grocery store flowers to the freesias to make the bouquets look better and those flowers were only a fraction of the cost of the bunches direct flowers. (Kinda sad!) Additionally, the closed freesia flower buds never really bloomed over the course of the week like the freesia bouquet my parents received from the other company.

While I would possibly consider ordering from this company in the future, I cant say I would recommend Bunches Direct to someone else. I would probably have them use the other online company that has historically given me quality flowers.
