The Burning Question offers a very wide range of wood burning stoves, and also the knowledge and experience to advise on the most appropriate choice irrespective of the situation. Douglas’s comprehensive advice and recommendations gave us total confidence in our final decision.
The initial survey and pre-installation advice by Dougie gave us a clear picture of what preparatory work was necessary, enabling us to have everything ready.
Ian and Ronnie ensured that everything in the room was suitably protected from dust and debris before dismantling the existing fireplace and surround. Despite some very awkward problems caused by the structure of the chimney wall, they efficiently created a new enclosure for the wood burner and installed the flexible ducting and chimney cowl. At every stage they explained clearly what they were doing, and when the installation was complete they gave us clear instructions on the use and maintenance of the wood burner. They make an excellent team, and are good company as well!
We were very impressed by everyone involved, and by the overall quality of the installation.
It is a pleasure to do business with this company and we would certainly not hesitate to recommend them or to use them again. Thanks, everyone.

As it was installed in summer Douglas even sent us an email to say he’d be more than happy to pop out to go through lighting etc should we have forgotten by the time we got to use.

Just in the process of buying our 7th or 8th (different properties over the years) stove from Burning Question. Could not recommend them highly enough. They make the whole process extremely easy and enjoyable. Any queries are promptly responded to and helpful advice always on hand. Wouldn't go anywhere else for our stoves!

The log burner in our stone cottage is our main source of heating, so when it started to fail on us we had to get the replacement right.

We chose The Burning Question because of how gracious, patient, and full of good advice, the showroom staff were. They went above and beyond, helping us import a specific model from abroad and making sure we got the right price.

Once we’d chosen our stove, we were put in the capable hands of their recommended installer, Michael, (an incredibly helpful and thorough chap with impressive knowledge and a marvellous attitude). The installation was perfect. Michael and his colleague were very respectful of our home, punctual, and kept us informed throughout.

Our new Jøtul stove looks great and is far more efficient than the one it replaced. Now that the weather is turning cooler, we’re really appreciating the upgrade.

It was such a painless, well-joined-up process from start to finish, with an absolutely perfect result. I couldn’t praise The Burning Question more highly, and would recommend them to anyone. Good job!

We purchased our gas fire from The Burning Question. From the beginning Heather was very helpful in sourcing gas engineers and supportive when there were glitches with the installation. when I have spoken to friends they have been equally enthusiastic about the firm!

We had a log burner fitted and had our chimney relined and our fireplace rendered again. The company were faultless from start to finish. At first in the showroom Lynda was extremely knowledgeable and listened to what we wanted to give us suitable options. She also provided toys for our children which was so helpful. Then Dougie came and measured up for us and answered a huge amount of questions, and kept in contact with the work plan. Finally, Ronnie and Ian came to fit the stove and they were so friendly, extremely professional, and best of all they cleaned up after themselves so well there was very little mess at the end. Fantastic company from start to finish, I wouldn't hesitate to use them again and would recommend to anyone.

We had a fantastic experience buying a Rais Viva L 100 from The Burning Question. After originally purchasing another stove and realising later that it wouldn’t work in the corner it was intended for we then visited the showroom to meet Douglas who was very helpful and professional and kindly agreed to swap this for another stove. We are really grateful for his understanding and help with this! Thanks too goes to Heather. Our new stove not only looks stunning but heats up our open plan space wonderfully and we are looking forward to using it this winter! I would highly recommend buying from The Burning Question. Had an old gas fireplace removed and log burning stove fitted. Everyone at The Burning Question was helpful and friendly from start to finish, they were an absolute pleasure to deal with. Their knowledge and genuine passion for their work is obvious and it makes for a very easy smooth experience.

Had our Hwam stove installed last week by these guys. The workmen arrived and got straight to it and were done and dusted, stove on and working, by 4pm. We are absolutely delighted with all aspects of the experience. Lynda, in the showroom, is very enthusiastic and knowledgeable and a delight to deal with. Can’t fault them, and will most definitely recommend their service to anyone!

From first stepping into the showroom to having our new stove fitted, we’ve been absolutely delighted!
The showroom is lovely with a really great choice and Lynda who helped us in the shop was amazing. She was so knowledgeable and helpful and gave us excellent advice. She explained how the process would work and with our measurements she had an idea of the size of stove we could get.
With the survey done, which was booked in quite quickly and the stove chosen, it was time for the installation.
The two fitters were excellent. No fuss. No mess. And just extremely pleasant. They went above and beyond to clean the mess our old stove had made, our new one was fitted, the chimney lined and we love it!!
I’d highly recommend them to anyone!

This is the second time we’ve bought a stove from The Burning Question and we totally recommend them. The staff here are excellent, they are all friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, and the selection of stoves is great.
