Terrible Customer Service
Terrible Customer Service. I wished I had seen their reviews before I purchased.
Bought a Jacket (SurgenceGORE-TEX Shell Jacket) - within 3-4 days of use it was already showing signs of wearing through at the pockets and back.
The Jacket is not fit for purpose.
I emailed them immediately. Took them 3-4 days to reply after sending a 2nd email chasing.
Even though I was within the 14 Days EU Consumer Right Returns and 30 Days Faulty period, Gina from Burton emailed me back saying my claim has not been approved. They did however, offer me a 15% discount from my next Purchase!!!
I have contacted my bank and started a chargeback claim under my consumer rights.
They have lost a Burton customer for life now and I will tell everyone on the lifts about my experience.
Burton step on system is the worst design
the Burton step on system has significant heel lift and Burton claims it is "normal and intended". the heel lift is about 15mm, how do you snowboard safely with this much heel lift every time you need to make toe turn.
They are known to provide you boot cleats replacement to "improve" the heel lift. Burton does not confirm if it is safe with this much heel lift. This product is the worst product I've ever purchased and very expensive mistake. I will NOT recommend Burton step on system.
Best warranty experience ever.
Had an issue with the paint finish of the Step on Genesis Hydro multi coloured bindings. Contacted Burton Europe directly and they couldn't have been more helpful. Sent pictures of the damage to the paint finish and they sorted out the warranty replacement so quickly including the return shipping label. Replacement bindings were sent within a week of sending out the original bindings. It's a shame there are so many negative reviews as my experience was really perfect. Thanks especially to Reka of Burton headquarters, based in Austria for dealing with the warranty claim.
Poor quality and terrible customer service
I bought a burton snowboard and step on boots and bindings (retailed for $1600 so it was not inexpensive) The fourth day out of the mountain the back support mesh on the binding broke off. A few weeks later the pants clips broke and the cleat on the boot came completely off rendering the my board and bindings useless. I contacted Burton and they said to send it back for a warranty claim but I would have to pay the shipping. My equipment was less than 2 months old and will cost me money to ship it back! How unfair is that? I already have been inconvenienced and lost time patrolling and missed time cruising the mountain. I will never buy another Burton product because of poor quality and customer service!
Burton shipping fraud by UPS
I have bought a pair of gloves in Burton with UPS home delivery service. UPS has decided to commit fraud in the shipping service with my order telling that they have tried to deliver my package but it was not possible. I work from home. I have purchased burton step ons and I have inquired the team to purchase spare parts of stepons such as toe clips and heel clips which are known to snap very quickly and renders your bindings unusable. Unfortunately, they don't sell the spare parts and it will be covered only for one year under warranty. Who in this world will bother to send it back to you for repair and wait until it gets fixed and returned. Burton - you need to work on after sales service! :(
Worst costumer support
Ordered a new pair of boots. I recived them on 31.01.2025 but they was faulty. I notified Burton Support on 10.01.2025. They answered on 15.01.2025 and suggested to send the boots back to them on a warranty claim. On 16.01.2025 i filled the warranty claim. I had to ask them many times to process my warranty claim, because they didn't and i needed further info to send the boots back. I got the label for warranty return after 8 days of email exchanging with burton support, asking them to process the warranty claim. They hardly insisted to cancel warranty claim, keep the broken pair and accept a 10% cashback (obviously i didn't accept such an "offer"). It's 29.01.2025 and they still didn't sent me the replacement boots. Meantime, they also insisted to just buy another pair from the burton website. Never buy again. Also, they say you only have 1 year guarantee for Boots, but in Europe, they have to provide costumers at least 2 years of guarantee.
I like their snow gear, but terrible delivery service.
I like their snow gear, seems good quality, and I'm mostly happy. I have Burton clothing, bindings and boots and they're all great. But this review is to rate the website itself and so they lose stars for using UPS or EVRI, both of those are by far the worst delivery services available. I don't think I'll be ordering from Burton again, purely because of their choice of using UPS or EVRI. Always late, and the delivery companies lie about delivery dates so you book time off work only for the driver not to turn up. Please start using a good delivery services like DPD. It's like Burton didn't research at all who provides the best delivery service for customers, if they did any research they wouldn't have picked UPS or EVRI.
UPDATE: Lowering my review even more due to truly terrible delivery. I have now had 3 work days where I have been told my delivery would arrive by 1315 which would require me to work from home or take a day off work, only for the delivery not to arrive. Burton did not provide enough information to UPS to clear packages through customs, and UPS are slow and terrible and sorting anything. This has been a terrible experience for online ordering, and I will not be buying from Burton again due to their use of UPS.
Burton: Poor Quality and Worse Customer Service – Don’t Trust Their Warranty Promises
I’ve been a snowboarder for 8 years and have used products from various brands, including Burton. Unfortunately, my recent experience with their AK bib pants has been nothing short of disappointing. After wearing them only five times (under normal, non-extreme conditions), I discovered a large tear along the seamline, exposing how poorly the product was constructed. With such a small piece of fabric holding two parts together, it’s no wonder it failed.
As an outdoor brand, Burton’s products are expected to be durable and high-quality, but this bib didn’t even survive light use. It’s unacceptable for a brand that markets itself as reliable gear for outdoor enthusiasts.
Given Burton’s advertised warranty, I thought they would stand by their product. However, when I contacted them, my situation—which clearly fell under the warranty criteria—was dismissed outright. To make matters worse, they sent my damaged product back at my expense without even notifying me via email. This lack of transparency and customer care is unacceptable.
Upon further investigation, I found that many other customers have faced similar issues with Burton’s products and warranty service. It’s clear this brand has fallen short of its promises and can’t be relied upon for durable, high-quality gear or decent customer support.
I would strongly recommend exploring other brands that truly value their customers and back their products with genuine care and accountability. Don’t make the same mistake I did—avoid Burton.
Dont purchase at Burton!!!
Burton was supposed to deliver my package by friday january 10th but DPD stated that the address was wrong (not true). I had several issues making contact with Burton (phone, live chat, e-mail and even instagram). Thus it was not able to fix the issue and i wouldnt receive the package on time. I requested a refund naturally and now they are saying they cant locate the package and can only refund after locating. This is insane!!!

Never recieved package, Burton failed to act
I never received the package with my winter stuff and Burton EU refused to take action. They kept asking if my neighbours have the package (in Switzerland), but DPD never delivered it, and they were supposed to get signature. Burton just kept stalling - saying DPD doesn’t respond to them. At the end of the day I lost the money, it was not refunded. I understand that things go wrong, however, it is the complete lack of any action by customer service to get to the bottom of it. And that is a company you can’t trust if the customer service do nothing to resolve the situation..

I am extremely disappointed with the level of service I’ve received from Burton regarding my warranty claim (Case# 01421484). Despite numerous attempts to resolve the issue, I feel that my concerns have been dismissed rather than addressed.
The item I purchased was only worn twice before it was damaged due to what appears to be poor design (Toddlers' Burton 2L One Piece Snowsuit). The fabric discolors and stains easily, and the velcro damages the material significantly.
Burton agreed to replace the item under warranty, which I appreciate. However, due to zero inventory, I was unable to get the same item, even in a different color. As a result, I had to purchase another snowsuit (from another brand) for my child in the meantime.
After several weeks and seeing that Burton’s inventory was not replenished, I requested a refund, which was denied. Instead, I was offered a credit valid across the website.
I then decided to use the credit to replace the snowsuit with three accessories of equivalent value. Unfortunately, Burton Canada’s customer service informed me that it is not possible to use a warranty credit for multiple items.
In the end, I am left with only two options:
1. Spend additional money to purchase another snowsuit.
2. Exchange the item for an available model, but in a color that does not suit my child.
This experience has been extremely frustrating, both due to the quality of the product and the warranty and customer service process.
This was my first and will be my last purchase from Burton Canada. I am deeply disappointed with the product, the warranty policy, and the service I received.

Tired to buy boots and it’s showed error for 1st time , so I tried again said same error. Called customer support and they said that it’s cause I order t Florida but my IP showed I’m in Atlanta. Which is my statink located it for Florida location. So, I turned off my WiFi and left with mobile internet which shows im in Florida and still error, -2000$ on hold for no reason cause Burton fraud system they dummest I’ve ever seen. Burton claims to offer a lifetime guarantee but it's not true
Burton claims to offer a lifetime guarantee, but my experience shows otherwise. When my mittens broke due to a factory defect, they stalled me for over two months with excuses about their system being unable to create a replacement order. Despite the clear defect, their solution was a mere 40% discount code — not a replacement or proper resolution.
This is not what I expected from a brand that markets itself as premium. Burton’s so-called "lifetime guarantee" feels more like false advertising. I’m extremely disappointed and won’t be recommending them to anyone

After placing an order there is no way to edit it, tried to call but they all said to send an email, tried to talk with a manager but I couldn’t get transfer, the inconveniences that they will put you through is underrated. I was trying to get the googles M5s instead I got the M5, after 2 hours of placing the order I called but there is no way to modify it, they suggested to wait for the package, return it and then order a new one.
The crazy thing is how is not possible for them to reach out another department to easily change the order.

Lifetime Warranty Honored on Backpack!
I purchased my backpack in 2016 from a company that now is out of business. It only had minor issues that slowly became enough of an annoyance I sent it in for repair. The one zipper got stuck (thankfully at the bottom of the track) and so I only had one to open it for 1-2 years. I didn't have any other issues with the bag besides some minor fraying threads and such - but no holes as other reviewers have mentioned. I assume they only fix things due to manufacture defect, and not user error or mishandling which would make sense to me! Someone can't just buy a new iPhone and smash it on the ground for a new one claiming it didn't hold up...
I just got my bag back and they replaced the zipper and I still have my original bag in service! Overall an awesome company which I'd buy more from! They even encouraged me to reuse an old mailer to reduce the amount of waste, on top of allowing me to fix my bag instead of that becoming waste too! Not many US companies honoring their products still so we should all do what we can to support them!
