B&P Buswell Ltd is a family-owned and run mechanical engineering company, based in Paignton, Devon, with a heritage in heating, hot-water, steam and plumbing systems extending back to the Buswell family’s involvement in the trade since 1876. We specialise in the design, installation, maintenance and servicing of large domestic, commercial and industrial heating, hot-water, steam-processing, filtration and engineered-plumbing systems — whether powered by natural gas, oil, LPG, biogas, solar or thermal energy. Our scope of expertise covers turnkey design and build solutions (including bespoke CAD design), ongoing preventative and corrective maintenance, breakdown support and refurbishment of existing systems. We are fully accredited and registered: our engineers hold current ACS (Gas) qualifications, we are listed on the Gas Safe Register and OFTEC (for oil installations) and we maintain membership of the leading UK industry associations (including Building Engineering Services Association - BESA and the Association of Plumbing & Heating Contractors - APHC). At B&P Buswell we take regulatory compliance and safety extremely seriously. In particular we understand the critical importance of working in hazardous environments — for example installations and maintenance involving flammable gases or combustible atmospheres — and so we deliver services in full conformity with UK regulatory standards, including the requirements of the Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations 2002 (DSEAR). Whether using biogas systems, commissioning fuel-storage & distribution installations or managing pipework and burner equipment, we bring the competence, experience and procedural rigour to manage the risks of dangerous substances, ignition sources and zoned atmospheres – underpinned by sound engineering, written schemes of examination (WSEs) and safe maintenance practises tailored to UK standards.
