This is the second time I have ordered from them which was a bad experience. The first time they wrote my name wrong having two ppl trying to take my order at the same time ordering a frosting cake. As my mum and sister were the ones to get it the lady had gaslighted them into believing that I told her to spell it that way. I had to repeat the spelling of my name multiple times even though it is a very simple name but I let that go then I had received the side quite messed up again I let it go as it’s the only shop selling frosted cakes. On the 18/10/25 I had ordered a pink buttercream frosted bow cake with glitter with the man urging me to pay immediately so they can have my cake at priority which I did two day later I then received the cake with fresh cream no glitter and very ugly handwriting. Mind u the cost of frosting is way more expensive than fresh cream, scamming me out of my money. I have reached out to customer service none answering my calls and when speaking to them through messages they keep saying they will call me within 2 hours when now 3 hours have passed I do not recommend!

Ordered a cake for my wife’s 40th birthday and it arrived with a message iced on the cake to someone else. Unbelievably embarrassing and when I demanded a refund they said no and offered a discount on my NEXT purchase. Cake was nice but would never use them again based on their service and how they addressed the issue

Absolutely shocking experience.
Paid £16 delivery for a cake that was meant to be delivered by 8pm and it never turned up. No one answered the phones or emails. They take your money and then that’s it. Totally ruined my husbands birthday evening.

Cakes from this place are so tasty(specially if you select the option with eggs and butter) but at the same time not so sweet at all,that for me hits the spot, this is my new bakery to order any kind of cake from now on!Would give a 5 star but the delivery,while i paid for a time slot of 9.00 to 15.00 came not between that time but at 15.10,i understand that it could be busy,so i would ask for a cheaper deleivery fee for a time slot.

I have ordered a cake for 4th October and same day i received a phone call from shop that cake is not available have option to take another cake, as I didn't want to buy another cake asked for refund and advised to contact to customer centre. I have requested refund on online but till date I didn't receive my refund. Even not responding to my email which was sending for update about it. Very poor management. Not happy at all.

Ordered an 8 inch cake for my son’s 18th and gave them a cake money pulling box that I filled with money. I text them a video of how it should look. When I gave my son the cake the lid came off in a clump and they had rolled all the money so it did not pull out. I complained and they denied not doing it properly I sent them the video of it going wrong and they refused to give me a refund or even half a refund. Very disappointed and manager not at all helpful just dismissed it like it was my fault. This was Ruislip Manor shop. Would never recommend

Lovely presentation and cupcakes. Gender reveal cupcakes made last minute and perfectly and promptly delivered.

The taste was great and I had ordered it for our wedding anniversary. It truly made it special and we finished the whole cake within a few days. Taste and design were amazing. It was also delivered on time.

Absolutely HORRENDUS
I placed my order was placed and paid for on Friday 26th September for collection from the Sutton store on Saturday 4th October. The collection time I selected was 4pm as there were no early slots available.

I went to the store as advised on 4th October only to be told that the order was not there and there had been a change in management and the order would most likely be delivered to me instead.

Having spoken to the management in store they advised me that the change in management had taken place 10 days prior which would have taken the date to before I placed the order. Not once in this time was I contacted to advise me not to go to store to collect the order or to offer me any alternative.

I called the office who advised they would call me back. That didn’t happen within a reasonable time frame considering I was in the store and with 2 children waiting to collect a cake. So I had to call again. I was then informed that there had been an ‘issue with management’ and unfortunately my cake order was not fulfilled.

No offer of resolution was given, only a refund 'on this occasion'. On this occasion??? i paid for a product that was not there!!! This is not acceptable customer service. There were 8 days from me placing the order to the date of collection to call me to advise of the issue. Instead I was left to make a wasted journey with 2 small children to collect a cake for a party the following day. My daughter was very upset the cake she wanted and that I had paid a lot of money for was not there. Given the fact it was so late in the day, the choice I had to choose an alternative from was limited. Also no equivalent to what I offered was available.

This service is unacceptable. I haven’t been refunded for the cake paid for and had to spend further money on a replacement that actually wasn’t suitable.

It has been 2 weeks since this happened and i have not received any refund.

Ordered a Cosmic Galaxy cake for my daughter’s birthday, but what was delivered was completely different — wrong shape, wrong colour, missing toppings, and nothing like what I ordered. I tried calling customer service several times, but no one answered. I also messaged on WhatsApp with no response. Eventually, I emailed with pictures, and only received a generic reply the next day saying they would “investigate.” Despite multiple follow-ups, I never got any proper resolution.

The cake was so disappointing it ended up in the trash — it completely ruined my daughter’s birthday. Very poor service and zero accountability. Avoid Cakes and Bakes.

Cake was nothing like picture! Bad taste as well

The cake was made and delivered as promised and as the image was made. Only reason for 4 stars is the poor communication and updates on delivery. When ordering a £250 cake for a party, the least you expect is a general ETA on the day of delivery. The phone line goes to voicemail and disconnects no matter what day or time you call. Nobody replies to the WhatsApp message and the website chat is pointless. Please improve your updates so customers are not panicking on the day of the event.

My husband is an in patient at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital at Stanmore. His birthday is today - 13 October ~ and the local Cakes and Bakes have just delivered a coffee and walnut cake to the hospital. The cake is DELICIOUS and has been shared across the ward! Thank you so much for making this happen and giving him a lovely birthday surprise

Asked for cream and jam and no jam . I tried many times to contact them but no replies just kept referring me to different emails and even then no reply! Disappointed with their level of service and incompetence in forgetting to put jam in the cake. My daughter was so upset I had to buy her a different cake from elsewhere
