Excellent plugin for those looking for quick shipping cost calculations and complete customization, including duties and sales tax for certain countries. Professionalism and expertise, support available for problem resolution and assistance.

Customer service is fantastic. The software can be powerful. Setting up some rules / areas and segments can get very complicated which can make setup difficult, but the support are fantastic and always help

Calcurates are by far the best way to manage multiple shipping rates to multiple countries on ecommerce. Their interface is smart and easy to use. Basically they are a game changer when it comes to managing international sales in house. The customer service is also excellent.

Great service for shipping from multiple warehouse locations using multiple shipping service options! Very easy to split shipments and get accurate cost calculations from multiple carriers.

Very well designed platform for calculating shipping quotes with logical rules defining how it works.

We looked at several options, but Calcurates is easily the best solution if you are offering international shipping and want to charge duties and taxes at checkout. They also allow us to offer different shipping carriers based on product origin, which has saved our customers money and helped our conversion rate.

We were faced with a shipping plugin that did not communicate well with FedEx, our primary shipping partner. It was constantly underestimating shipping, causing us thousands weekly in lost revenue.

We did our research and found Calcurates. The reviews were great and there were a lot of happy people using it. It was also significantly less expensive than the solution we were using before.

Initially we set everything up and it was working. However, it kept giving us too high of shipping rates for many of our orders. We were pretty sure it wasn't Calcurates causing the problem. We worked with the Calcurates team and through many phone calls and patience on the Calcurates side, we were able to solve the problem...it turned out to be a quirk with the FedEx account numbers, not at all related to Calcurates. They helped us out patiently, with good spirits and a cheerful attitude. I can't recommend Calcurates enough. Our shipping is now pulling rates perfectly and our customers are being served correctly due to Calcurates. Thank you Calcurates team!

What were our challenges?
After setting up our online e-commerce business (shipping nationally to the UK but also worldwide) we were looking for a flexible solution which allows us to display shipping rates at checkout of our WooCommerce store to our customers. The challenge here is that we are using several different shipping providers, only one of these is offering "live rates" all others are based on pre-defined "table rates". Additionally due to customs regulations, size restrictions, other country restrictions, etc. it was important for us to be able to define shipping rules based on a wide range of criteria.

Why Calcurates?
We were looking in several different ways to tackle the challenges defined above: using WooCommerce plugins or using third-party shipping providers which allow displaying shipping rates at checkout. The plugin approach quickly showed that it wasn't flexible enough and the GUI as part of the WordPress admin backend wasn't very user friendly. The third-party options were all providing a much better user interface but what convinced us in the end to go with Calcurates is the extreme flexibility in shipping rules and definition of shipping tariffs (nothing seems to be impossible) and the super helpful, friendly, and competent support by Nikolay from Calcurates. Any question, problem, etc. will be attended to very quickly and so far, every time we asked for it a great solution was found (even if it included changing Calcurates to implement the missing feature).

The set-up process:
The set-up process was extremely easy, as Calcurates (for a reasonable fee) set-up all shipping rates for us, so we just needed to activate the Calcurates shipping option in WooCommerce and were ready to go. All future changes were very easy to do within the Calcurates GUI (and if you have the time, also the initial setup could be done quite easily by yourself, it's just a nice time saver to get it done for you).

The results:
Since using Calcurates we have changed shipping providers, had to update shipping tariffs several times, shipping surcharges changed, new shipping restrictions had to be added and all of that is super easy to implement. We're using Calcurates for well over a year now, and it is one of the few parts of our WooCommerce set-up which didn't fall over at any point :-) The time saved compared to keeping shipping rates up to date manually within WooCommerce and the money saved compared to using "average" shipping fees instead of calculated ones at checkout is more than paying for the subscription fee you are paying for Calcurates.

Who is Calcurates for:
I would recommend Calcurates for e-commerce businesses, using one of the supported online platforms (Shopify, Magento or WooCommerce) with more complex shipping needs, i.e., several shipping providers, international shipping, products which trigger certain shipping restrictions due to size, weight or value properties and if you want to provide your customers with a range of accurately priced shipping options at checkout.

What can be improved:
Of course nothing is perfect, so here a few points I would like to see added to Calcurates: It would be great if Calcurates could also print shipping labels (which is supported for some platforms but not WooCommerce yet). Further Calcurates is offering a "rate shopping" feature which selects the best tariffs out of all available ones and presents them at checkout. Unfortunately, this feature is only available for carriers which are providing live shipping rates but cannot include carriers whose tariffs are calculated based on "table rates". As most of our UK carriers don’t offer “live rates”, this feature cannot be used but would be very useful to restrict the amount of shipping options shown at checkout to the best ones.

We have a fairly complex model for shipping prices depending on: weight, spend and destination. Native Shopify couldn’t cope so we tried Calcurates and it’s wonderfully flexible and supported all our requirements.
Configuration took a little time, with setup and testing each zone but the support team couldn’t have been more helpful and responsive. I definitely recommend reaching out to the team who will walk you through the full capabilities of the tool.

I think the speed of the checkout process has increased - we have less abandoned carts for sure.

I’d highly recommend Calcurates to anyone for whom native Shopify doesn’t have sufficient functionality.

Before using Calcurates we were experiencing various issues with shipping rates and we found it difficult to easily update rates using CSV files etc.
After reviewing many solutions we chose Calcurates as it resolved all the headaches we had been having previously. Also they offer a very generous free tier, which allowed us to trial the software and come to our conclusion.
Learning how to manage the rates within the Calucrates dashboard took some work, but the support received by the Calcurates teams has been second to none and allowed us to quickly create even the most complex rates and solve our shipping issues.
The end result was an accurate shipping cost matrix which led to a reduction in abandoned orders due to the fact the customers could easily and quickly see their accurate shipping costs.
Calcurates can be utilised by many different businesses from SMEs to extremely large turnover merchants. I honestly do not see any business that could not successfully utilise Calcurates as part of their online ordering processes.

We have very complex table rate requirements for our shipping. We needed exact delivery dates and time slots. Highly accurate pricing is very important to us due to the expensive cost of shipping our products on pallets. No other software company/service offered anything near. We were able to explain our requirements to Calcurates and their developers offered customisation. The service we have received has been impeccable. There is nothing we have asked for that hasn't been implemented and now these features are available for anyone to use.

Excellent Support, variable opportunities for your online shop

We have been using Calcurates with Magento for our shipping estimates/calculations for about 2 months now and we are absolutely loving the flexibility this platform gives us to create shipping rates/rules and provide real-time calculations from carriers. At first, since the platform was so new there were a number of features that we needed in order to go live, kudos to the team at Calcurates they were super easy to work with and were more than willing to listen to feedback and help come up with solutions for us which is always something we look for in a software partnership.
