I only wanted the plugin for Lightroom…

I only wanted the plugin for Lightroom classic for my old x-rite color passport but have to install an entire ecosystem software suite. To top this off since installing the Calbrite 'mandatory' suite Spyder X software will not load the monitor profile, thus Calbrite has created a driver conflict when all I want to use my x-rite color passport is a lightroom plugin. I can't use the old plugin with recent lightroom as it says there is a memory conflict. Mandating a system wide level driver for just a Lightroom plugin is ludicrous and heavy handed tactic to try and force you into their ecosystem. Should be outlawed. Will never buy Calbrite/x-rite ever again, aggresive horrible business policies with no regard to existing customer base.

Communication Breakdown

I’ve used Calibrite’s products for over a decade and can attest to a high level of quality across the board. I’ve been impressed with the company’s sophisticated attention to technical detail. That said, a recent interaction with Calibrite’s lead North American technical support team member left a bad taste in my mouth. Still learning how to use the newest software, I asked a technical question and received a prompt response. My follow-up query was met with impatience and derision. The agent’s sign off message to me was straight up troll-y. I like this brand but will likely pivot to a competitor’s product range because I don’t enjoy being ridiculed online. If this were my business, I’d try harder to hire a technical support lead with real interpersonal skills, someone who will represent the core values of the company they work for.

Worst possible type of company

Worst possible type of company. Blocked access to the software of older X-rite devices and ask for an "upgrade". Basically equivalent to ransomware hackers on a larger, legitimate scale.

I purchased a Calibrite Color Checker…

I purchased a Calibrite Color Checker Passport 2. I could not get the software to work. The only support they offer is through email. It takes a day or so to get a response. They have NO phone number for help. I have spent 6 hours trying to get it work without success. They don't care about their customers.

I bought X-Rite Colour checker 12 years…

I bought X-Rite Colour checker 12 years ago. It was great product until they decided move the responsibility to Calibrite. You now need to pay for software updates or your X-rite wont work. Now my expensive $600.00 checker that I bought 12 years ago is a expensive brick. Do your research before purchasing this product. Very disappointed. If you try to contact X-rite you will just get pointed to Calibrite.

Software is unusable disaster - they even wanted extra fee for it

They want to pay for upgrading to new software, so I can continue to use my already bought colormeter.

Every update of their software is disaster.
One time I updated they asked for fee to continue using their product.
Recently they require email login to continue to the software, It does not work, the software is stuck loading, nothing helps even reinstalling.

Support useless, they respond but nothing helpful. I still cant get the program working, so their product was wasted money for me.
I believe there is a way to get it working, but there are no instructions, even their support responses cant help.

Scammers

Scammers
Lumesca Group Ltd, seller of Calibrite calibration equipment are scammers.
Even after paying for shipment to Lumesca directly, UPS wants me to pay €80,34 for shipping and taxes.
Lumesca -never- said ‘30% taxes may apply’.
Not upfront, not after their sale.
I will tell UPS to return the package to sender, I do not accept. Bought it via a creditcard so will withdraw the payment also.
I will -never- buy anything at Lumesca again, i’ll get another brand instead.

What is this

What is this? You ask me money for using my old i1 Display device. Zero points. Even one star is too much.

MoneyGrab for X-Rite

I have used X-Rite products for as long as I can remember (15+ years). In 2021, they "rebranded" some products to Calibrite including the Passport and ColorMunki. X-Rite is the parent company to Calibrite. As part of this re-branding, my ColorMunki is the same guts as the Display Pro HL, but I get the "privilege" of paying again for the license to use it with their Calibrite branded software.

Pretty sh!t if you ask me. Screw you Calibrite wholly owned by X-Rite for making me re-pay for using the same product I bought a few years ago.

You have to be kidding me

You have to be kidding me! XRite sold to Calibrite, and now all XRite software has been disabled and Calibrite wants $40 "upgrade" to use their software for something I've already paid for!!

i1Display Plus

I have an X-RITE i1Display Plus calibrator. Instead of X-RITE, Calibrite is developing the software for it. I paid handsomely for it, but the new software gave very poor results, while X-RITE's no longer supported software does the job nicely. It can be deduced from this that the software is at fault.
I wrote to Calibrite support about this. Unfortunately, we didn't get through for a long time, because they haven't responded since then. I don't know where my next calibrator will come from, but there is a good chance it won't be a Calibrite product.

New out of box, not recognized by W10 64 bit OS

New out of box, device not recognized by W10 64 bit. Error message says clearly to call support if reboot doesn't solve. Rebooted thrice, no change. No ability to contact support other than submit ticket. How to call if no contact number available, I ask? This is so frustrating to pay good money for a product only to have to jump through hurdles to get it to function, assuming that it does get resolved.

I have an X-Rite i1 Display Pro that I…

I have an X-Rite i1 Display Pro that I bought a few years ago to keep my monitors calibrated using the monitor manufacturer's own software. All has been great.

I sometimes display my artwork on a larger screen TV so decided to calibrate that as colours were definitely not right. I got out the i1 Display Pro and proceeded to find updated software/drivers for it to calibrate the TV screen.

First I discovered that X-Rite have moved/sold/transferred or whatever, the product to Lumesco Calibrite to support.

I downloaded their software. What an abortion! Buggy to the point of failing to do anything. Looked up support on their website and eventually found alternative software. Downloaded that, got slightly further but still no joy. I had to register the i1 Display Pro with them and then I HAD TO PAY A RANDOM £8.99 to license it!?!?!?!? I'd already bought the product years ago and it's been working fine ever since! Not impressed. Why do you have £9 of my money Calibrite?

After shelling out the cash, the second software I downloaded finally began to work, and it's pretty much identical to the X-Rite software I had originally so really not seeing what the extra cost was for!?

Their website looks slick but doesn't really explain things clearly! Support is poor. The software is really poor.

I work in IT and know what I'm doing, it took me over 2.5 hours and cost me £9 to finally get the screen calibrated.

Not a great experience! Sort it out guys!!!

i1 display pro software super buggy and not fit for purpose

I bought a i1 display pro for £195 in order to calibrate my monitors. Although the hardware may be a good product, the supporting software is total garbage and constantly buggy. Definitely not plug and play. I am simplifying here a bit, but the technical solution is to delete existing software, instal new software, reboot several times, plug in hardware, open app etc etc. then it still doesn't work. Oh perhaps another reboot, it works this time but doesn't see the hardware. Then it finally works doing exactly what I did last time. Fast forward till the next OS update and it all goes to pot again. Terrible software considering the price paid for the this product. Not impressed.
