I tried to cancel my subscription and…
I tried to cancel my subscription and requested a refund. I can’t actually sign in to the app, it keeps telling me I don’t have premium…however the company took my £39.99!!! I have sent countless messages and they still refuse to refund my money. They just send me details of how to sign in, and it doesn’t matter how many times I tell them it doesn’t work. I’m so frustrated and angry about this….the irony that the app is called Calm!!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Was hundreds of genres but they reduced the number of channels and genres after I signed up. Was hundreds of channels but they cut it down by more than half. Same 40 songs over and over again.
Absolutely dreadful and not ‘calm’ at all
Absolutely dreadful and not ‘calm’ at all. Tamara levitt voice is so annoying and creepy I just can’t listen to her at all !!! This is true with most of the voices on this app. They are all incredibly annoying I definitely do not recommend and will check my payment history after reading the other reviews. Please believe me it’s not worth it. Very disappointing
Love this app
I use the Calm app for morning meditation and for the sleep stories. I listen to Jeff Warren's meditations almost every day. Some of them are really powerful. I also like the Daily Jay for reframing how to react to life situations. I am also, apparently, one of many people who cannot abide Tamara Levitt's voice, so I just don't listen to her stuff.
The sleep stories are fantastic; I almost never hear the end of the story. A guaranteed snoozer is "But Seriously, The Rules of Tennis" with John McEnroe.
I especially like the short meditation series by Jack Kornfield and Lama Rod Owens.
I have this app for free because I am a Kaiser member, so I haven't had any of the problems with being overcharged or not being able to cancel that so many reviews have described. The reviews here dealing with the actual content are 4-5 stars; the reviews based on customer service are 1 star.
Calm app used to be really good
Calm app used to be really good. Sleep stories, guided meditations, soundscapes etc but over the past couple of years new guests have overtaken the app and it’s now saturated with less than effective content, it’s boring and has become something else. It’s no longer serving the purpose it once had. I think they struggled to find good content. I used to use the app everyday and now have cancelled so just waiting for it to end. Such a shame as it used to be really interesting.
Also to echo other reviews these guys never respond to queries or requests for help. I’ve contacted them a few times over the years and they never responded. Really bad. For this reason alone, I would not recommend.
Charged me 4x
I've been a loyal, calm member for a couple of years now. Recommended this app to my patients, friends, and family. This year, they charged my apple card 3X, and once via the subscription when it renewed. I took screenshots and sent it over. They wrote a very long e-mail about how they can't help, and I should just cancel my subscription and request a refund. So disappointed.
If I could give their customer service a 0 it would be too high
I paid for an annual subscription in their sale on 29 January 2024. To date I still can't access the premium features. There's no way to contact them directly but I've left messages on their Twitter (X) feed only to be ignored.
Dont waste your money, there are lots of free, guided meditations, sounds etc on You Tube.

I had an offer for a 7 day free trial with the option to subscribe. I elected to try it and my Apple account was charged $69.99 within an hour. Purely deceptive! The product must really suck if that’s the only way they can sell it!!!
I paid for life and have requested I…
I paid for life and have requested I get full content. They have never bothered to help me. The site sucks same old same old do not join.
The app claimed to be "free," but like…
The app claimed to be "free," but like other apps, AFTER installing the "free" became a "free trial."
Then it was ambiguous and next to impossible to cancel the subscription...lots of smoke and mirrors, like "unsubscribe from emails" was front and center, but you still are in BIG pay mode. The app itself was okay, but I won't subscribe to an unethical company.
The subscriber is not given the option…
The subscriber is not given the option to set up, or not set up, auto-renewal. Calm automatically sets the subscriber up on the auto-renewal feature. Calm does not provide any advance notice the subscription will renew. There is no customer support available.
Absolutely nil customer service
Absolutely nil customer service, Calm have taken my £19.99 subscription and placed me on a seven day free trial. They do not respond to messages, but take your cash, be very careful when considering to subscribe
The Calm App makes it very difficult to…
The Calm App makes it very difficult to cancel your subscription! They will charge you for a full year if you miss the end date! The customer service in non-existent. For an app that is supposed to Calm people, I find myself stressed out trying to cancel.
BEWARE: Free trial is a scam
I was offered a 7 day “free” trial on calm and signed up via their website. It asked for payment details, clearly stating in the offer that I would not be billed until the end of the 7 day trial period and that if I wished to cancel I could do so within the 7 days. Instead, I was instantly billed and had £39.99 taken immediately from my PayPal account and was sent a receipt for the payment thanking me for signing up for yearly membership! I attempted to cancel the “trial” straight away on seeing this and it said I was signed up for a year. This happened instantly at the time of signing up for the supposed trial and is completely different to what the offer email I was sent and all the information regarding the free trial on their website stated. They have taken money from my PayPal account contrary to the terms of their own offer and without my consent, having clearly said on all their materials no money would be taken for 7 days. Be very careful with the calm “free trial”, it seems to be a form of theft. Not very relaxing.
billing and subscriptions
I signed up for a free trial with Calm Australia. Wasn't for me. Cancelled my subscription and found that I was charged for two subscriptions, one Australian and the other from Palo Santo USA. They have since refunded my Australia subscription, but I am getting no response regarding the USA subscription which was $82.38.
I don't know why I received this subscription in the first place.
I have sent several emails to them regarding this issue.
Sleep saver
I love calm, I’ve had the paid subscription for around 6 years. I listen to a sleep story every night, it’s the only way to hush all the thoughts running around my mind. Honestly, I can’t imagine not having it even my hubby is hooked now too. Once the story ends I have the either the thunderstorm sound scape, or one of my other favourites if I wake in the night it just helps me to drift back off, as long as I start it early before my overthinking brain sets off again. I tell everyone about this app, I love it
I was promised a 7-day trial
I was promised a 7-day trial, but was charged an annual subscription fee right away. The content was still locked and the app insisted that I am not logged in with the appleid account that has a paid subscription (hello!!!! you just charged my bank account!!!!)
Within app support does not exist, the only way to request refund is through Apple support team. And Calm’s FAQ instructions are clearly outdated….
Would never consider using or downloading that app again just because instead or making me calm it made me furious for 30 mins!!!
Automatic renewal with no notice? Not cool!!
Good app, but terrible customer service. The fact that they do automatic annual renewals without notifying the customer about the renewal is really unethical, IMHO...then they make it impossible to reach an actual human being for support. My rating would be higher, if not for this lack of respect in their customer service.
This App is impossible to use
This App is impossible to use! I couldn’t get the Soundscape to start, then when started, couldn’t get it to pause or stop. Terrible, especially when you get more stressed out trying to use it in order to become calm!
Clear speech
This would be excellent if the people were all understandable. To an English ear, the men are fine but the women with one exception ( the lady reading about mt Everest) sound like squeaky little girls. I find them so impossible that I have to turn it off.
Jeff Warren would get 5 stars from me.
