Recovery of 1997 Triumph Daytona 900.

I have a 1997 Triumph Daytona 900 and while out enjoying the sunshine riding around South Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿, the bike broke down and wouldn’t start. I’m in the AA so contacted them for recovery. They apparently sub contract services out to local companies.
Nathan from Cambrian car care came out but unfortunately was unable to get the bike going again and arranged for a recovery vehicle to come and recover me to my home. Some time later Andrew turned up with a recovery truck with a motorcycle adapter.
I was extremely impressed with his polite friendly manner and his calm demeanour.
He loaded my motorcycle on the recovery truck and strapped it down very well. I was particularly impressed by the care he took to prevent any damage to my lovely old Triumph and he secured it well and put soft cloths around the fairing and other areas where the straps would possibly chaff or damage the paint work.
I’m very thankful that he was so careful and respectful of my motorcycle.
Thanks again Andrew and Nathan for outstanding service you made my day.
Kindest regards
John Davies.

Totally unprofessional

Totally unprofessional. A pre booked appointment was cancelled , but do you think I they could be bothered to ring on the day to cancel it ? No. Told upon arriving . How truly pathetic. I appreciate mechanic illness can't be helped but telling me you saw the appointment in the book and let me drive the 25 minutes to tell me it won't be done is laughable , when a simple phone call would have saved 2 cars making the trip with the cost of fuel so high. You've lost a customer , and I hope people realise you cannot trust them to be professional. Why is it so freaking hard to find reliable garages these days.

Shocking service received from Cambrian…

Shocking service received from Cambrian car care. A 10 month old baby and a woman stuck on the side of the road is not enough of a priority for these people. Everything was too much for them and when they did arrive they didn't even take the time to work out what was wrong with the car. They were rude, disrespectful and unprofessional not to mention the way they spoke. Made to feel like we were the problem when all that was done was following insurance companies direction. Making matters worse when the car came back from a garage that couldn't solve the problem it was left wide open with the keys on the tyre ready for anyone to just drive off with. Highly recommend to AVOID this company, they need to learn some basic customer service and realise that anyone who has broke down and pays for the service is a priority.

Awful company.

Absolutely terrible service after breaking down. My daughter and her 10 month old baby were treated with no respect. Her car was taken to a garage that didn't accept it as they were full.. She then requested they bring it to her home instead which was within 5 miles of the garage. They dumped the car back where it broke down leaving the keys with it.
When trying to reason with them they were just abusive and disrespectful.
Awful company. My daughters
insurance company couldn't believe this when we discussed it with them.
When the car was eventually retrieved by an independent person it was fixed at the roadside.
Please advise your breakdown company to avoid using these dreadful people

Living Nightmare

Went to view a property 170 miles away from home, after we viewed the property my van broke down. I have my breakdown cover with Green Flag through my bank account so at 11.55am I called them up, I explained to the very pleasant operator what was happening and he took my location and informed me that although they were very busy they would try to get to me in the hour. After sitting sweltering on the pavement for one and three quarter hours I received a text asking me to call Green Flag. So I called Green Flag and spoke to a different operator who explained that the Technician had called me up and not got an answer, she then read the number they had called and told me it was my landline!.

The Operator admitted that as I was 170 miles away from home it was unlikely I would be able to answer the landline, once again I explained where I was and sat and sweltered, ten minutes later I was called by Cambrian Car Care who told me a technician had already come to the address i had broken down at and I wasnt there, I explained that I hadnt moved and he must have gone to the wrong address as there are two streets with the same name in Merthyr. Not listening he became a bit ratty and explained that the Technician had knocked on the door and a man had told him he didnt know anything about it, I explained that the house I was at was empty as I had come to a viewing. Finally Cambrian admitted they had the wrong address because Green Flag had given the wrong post code, he told us that he would be with us as soon as.

At 15:50 a Welsh Technician rang having gone again to the wrong address and in a heavily accented English we battled it out to understand each other to try to get him to us, he arrived within ten minutes and looked at the van. Informing us he couldnt fix it he arranged a relay home for us not understanding why we hadnt booked somewhere overnight?.

At 16:26 we received a call from another heavily accented Welshman and we battled it out to understand each other as he had gone to the wrong address again!! He arrived and at that point his partner rang, when she found out he was taking us home she began to swear at the fact that he was taking us to England it was all on loud speaker. He then spent another hour trying to get the van going, my wife and i were very hot and exhausted but he didnt care it was obvious after his partner had rang he didnt want to relay us, it was at this point a man came out of one of the houses opposite totally disgusted with how we were being treated and gave my wife and me a drink and some snacks each.

Finally the relay driver admitted defeat and loaded the van and started us off, the relay van was dirty and if Henry Ford ever made a Model T relay van this was it. We were banged and thrown around for two hours before we arrived at Motorway services in the lorry park somewhere, the driver informed us he was leaving us here and someone else would take us the rest of the way and I would receive a call. He dropped the van in the lorry park and drove off, relieved to be out of Cambrians touch we received a call from Natwest to tell us that a new relay driver was on his way. We were then collected by AVS who were pleasant had a very comfortable vehicle and got us home by 21:50. My van is filthy covered in oily finger prints inside and out thanks to Cambrian, all in all a nightmare.
