I purchased a winter coat from Canada Weather Gear and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience.

From the very first day, the zipper was extremely difficult to use. It’s a double zipper, and I often couldn’t zip it myself because it wouldn’t align properly. Within about three weeks, the bottom zipper tube broke. Shortly after that, the zipper head stretched open so it wouldn’t close the teeth properly anymore, and within another week it completely snapped off.

In addition to the zipper issues, the seam under the arm split during normal, everyday wear.

I returned to the store for an exchange. It took multiple visits to find a manager, but eventually the coat was replaced. Unfortunately, the replacement coat has also had quality problems. Within days, the inside seam came apart, one pocket is missing entirely (the seam is there but no actual pocket), and both underarm seams have now split after only two weeks of light use. The zipper on this one is also difficult to use.

The store advertises original prices around $300 with heavy discounts, but based on my experience, the construction quality does not reflect that value. I’m very disappointed and would not purchase from here again.

I bought this jacket from JCPenney's in the fall of 2025 for my non-verbal autistic grandson, this month, February of 2026 I realize that the underarms and the lining of the Jacket were ripping at all the seams. This was very poor stitching and workmanship. This was an expensive coat and should have never fell apart in a few months, he did not even start to wear it until late November.

Well I received a coat from my son for Christmas. It was warm and really stylish until the today when I zipped it up and the zipped popped apart.
Contacting them they said "I had to report the issue within 48hrs of receiving it.
I'm unsure how I was suppose to guess that it would fail in about a month.
Company won't last with poor quality and even poorer customer service/Policies.

The sizing is way too small tried to get a refund paid $20 to ship it even though my whole order was $30 it's been a month and a half still haven't got my refund

I bought winter coats as well as pajama pants. The seams are coming undone, and the coats tear with the slightest snag. I also returned a coat that didn't fit. It took more than a month to get the refund, and I had to send them the Canada Post tracking number myself because they said they couldn't find my return. Even though the coats are really beautiful, the coats and clothes are very expensive when not on sale, but the quality is no better than clothes bought at a department store.

I ordered a coat as a gift for my wife through their website. This was a complete scam. I paid for a coat that they never shipped out. They claim not to be responsible for stolen or lost articles. I would never buy anything from them again nor would I recommend them at all.

AVOID. “Exchange only”? Bought coat at outlet in NJ. Zipper broke day 1. Dont be duped by price. Daughter has to ship cost to me from nyc so I can go to store for exchange.

Bought my wife a jacket here for Christmas and it didnt fit. Cashier explained I have 2 weeks to exchange but no refunds. We return after Christmas to find out they turn off their "system" and are unable to do exchanges the 26th. Its a deliberate decision made to inconvenience the customer. Do not buy from here.

don’t order to canada weather gear that totally scam and very poor garbage customer service! they not shipped my order and not answering in email about my complain!! this site is a joke!!

I bought a Canada Weather Gear jacket on November 5th, and the zipper completely broke just over a month later. The pull came off, the zipper keeps splitting, and the jacket is basically useless.

I contacted customer service and they refused to help because I was “outside the 30-day window,” even though the product is clearly defective. No replacement, no repair, nothing.

A winter jacket shouldn’t fall apart after a few weeks, and a company shouldn’t hide behind policies to avoid fixing faulty products. Don’t buy from them.

Bought a jacket, the same day the zipper ripped open. Brought it back to exchange because no refunds, luckily it still had the tags. Now I've worn this new one twice and I can't bend down otherwise the zipper undoes itself from the bottom. I like the jacket itself but the zipper is SUPER cheap. Going to need to buy and install a better quality zipper. Do not recommend any products from this place.

There are no returns. Even if you bought it in a store. Even if you try to return it in an hour. These are cheap made products. $10 max. They put a fake price $100 and make a fake 75% discout, so it is $25. This allows them to make all products like a final sale; always, 365 days a year they have 70-80% discount. It is not marketing, it's a pure scam. No return for a cheapy made product that won't last a week. Avoid

Scam company all the way.
Bought 2 jackets individually reg price 60 bucks
on sale for 25.
They shipped together and charged us double delivery.
Then the Jackets arrived and are the wrong size, not Canadian XL which is odd for a Canadian co
My jackets zipper was falling off as more than half the stitching missed the zipper.
Asked for a refund and they hide the return process.
First you cant return if the sale was over 70% but they dont put the discount on the invoice, no SKU and no phone number!
Cost me 30 bucks to return to them, even though it was defective.
Sent them pictures and talked in email over a few days.
AVOID this Company.

This company sucks. You’ve been warned. Buy Canadian? Sure…but not from these crap sellers.

If you are looking for a jacket that lasts more than two weeks, DON'T SHOP HERE. I bought a jacket and in two weeks, it had a big hole under the arm and the Mall of America store refused to take it back, give my money back, or give me a store credit.
I'm updating my post to report that in week three the zipper no longer works and I now need to remove the jacket by pulling it off over my head. 😬

Purchased a jacket for my son at Christmas and he liked it so much I purchased one myself.
Not two months later, the zipper mechanism literally fell apart, my wife contacted them only to find a 30 day warranty. No support on their products. Now my wife is stuck having to repair a jacket two months old.
Buyer beware.

Tear on too many places. Customer care service is not helpful. avoid the jacket if there is no local shop near your place. you cant replace during warranty period.

I purchased two canada weather gear coats . the zipper broke after about only seven uses on one of them.
they do run small. I usually wear a large but the large feels small.And the extra large felt small as well. i recommend going up two sizes . Also, the pockets are small, thin layered and difficult to access. you have to have your hands in them from an awkward angle, and they're freezing, so the pockets are useless.
But after my zipper breaking really, I don't recommend this company at all cheap zipper, the zipper is the determining factor in the reliability of any coat . it was a complete waste of my money

NO RETURNS FROM USA. read the fine print, the return policy. This company advertises all over the US. Don't order straight from the company. Use Walmart or another American seller you can return to if there's a problem. My women's jacked was too small, and yes I ordered my correct size, but its about 2 sizes too small, much like buying a leather coat. NO RETURNS FROM USA in return policy, so IM stuck.

The jacket I bought in less than a month, tore and the zipper also malfunctioned. Worse product ever, didn’t get value for money.
