I have written a manuscript and have begun my quest to find a publisher. I sent queries to several self-publishers inquiring about the various packages they offer to authors. Several publishing companies contacted me, and I generally had informative discussions with them. The ultimate issue for the author is whether the publisher is the right fit for your book.
In my quest so far to find a publisher, I was fortunate to be able to chat with Austin Henderson, the publishing manager for Condour Publishing. Aside from his expertise in the publishing industry, I was impressed with his ability to listen to my questions -- he answered all of them with the utmost care and concern. I really like that he impressed upon me that his company's goal is to make sure it puts out a great book.
If you are looking for a publisher, do yourself a favor and consider talking to Austin. He will take the time to listen to you and explain the various publishing packages his company offers.
