I've been using Care.com for about a year and it has been a lifeline. I enjoy caring for seniors and Care.com let's me seamlessly navigate ample job opportunities. I receive many responses from applications and even have clients reach out to me on their own. I'm truly grateful for the peace of mind knowing my next client is right around the corner!

Overall care is a great place to connect with providers for family and loved ones

I’m super thankful for care.com as it has helped us find a nanny three different times for different seasons of life. I love all that it offers, the amount of candidates available and the fact that I know many friends who have profiles on there as well. There are normal people on care.com! While there are some functional differences between the app and web browser experience, it’s nothing that I couldn’t work around. I also use homepay and really appreciate how well that is handled.

I intended to purchase 1 year of service from Care.com for $155. After the web site took my credit card information and confirmed the purchase it used deceptive techniques called “sneak into basket” and “DoubleClickjacking” to add two additional charges of $180 and $84, in addition to the $155 I was paying. I immediately (within minutes) canceled both and sent a message to the website that I did NOT purchase those additional services. They claim that enhancements/add-ons is a subscription service and is non-refundable. There are very good caregivers trying to find clients on care.com, but I’m afraid that care.com tries to take advantage of both clients and caregivers.

I only needed someone to sit with my small dog, CeCe, on Easter afternoon. I got several responses and chose Rayna. She was delightful. CeCe took to her right away. I was relieved and happy.

I have been using care for several years and always had a successful experience when it comes to finding a job!

I have been a member of care.com for over 12 years. Being a member has been life-changing for me. My most recent family that I work for is very near and dear to my heart. If it wasn’t for care.com I would’ve never met this wonderful family. I was also able to meet other amazing families and help other people while doing what I love the most. It has been my way of life for over a decade and my favorite source when it comes to finding a family to care for. I recommend them highly and I cannot tell you how grateful I am for care.com and for their services to both the families as well as for me as a caregiver.

Waste of time and money. I am down a good chunk of money with no results. I had better luck with Facebook groups. They also refuse refunds.

This is a subscription service. I hired a caretaker for a few hours and never used them again. A year later, without any notification, Care.com charged me $155.40 for a year long premium membership that I will not use. Had they notified me in advance that the due date was coming up, I would have cancelled since I don't use their service.
I don't understand why a company that is based on care (Alzheimer's in my case) doesn't understand the stress and daily chaos for caretakers, managing a job and two households while caring for an elderly parent. All they had to do was send an email notifying me that the subscription charge was coming. This is more like "Careless.com" Shame on them. This money could have been used for groceries or something useful. Do NOT sign up for a subscription!

I’ve had a very positive experience using Care.com. The platform made it easy for me to connect with families and find childcare opportunities that match my experience and availability.
As someone with a pediatric medical background and years of infant care experience, Care.com helped me communicate clearly with families and build trust quickly.
Thank you Care.com for supporting caregivers and families. I would recommend this platform to others looking for childcare support or nanny opportunities.

My mother was recovering from a hip diplacement, and Care.com helped us find a temporary helper quickly! It was simple to connect, and the chat was very professionally confidential. I did get email receipts of the exchanges, but all the identifying numbers were redacted - a very thoughtful practice!

I joined Care.com this month, April and I am finding their system has a lot of "bugs" to work out. Sending out reviews to people I have worked for only to get responses back that they could not get the site to open up to write a review for me as a care giver. Not easy to get job listings without being sent to QR Scanner every time. And why such a high fee for a back ground check? I have since canceled my account for recurring billing. This company has awful ratings, sorry I signed up and paid the money for a back ground check. I'll use the rest of the year since I paid already and hope I at least get a job out of it.

They were wonderful, efficient, prompt. I would highly recommend. Thank you!

I want to share my experience so other families know what they’re signing up for.
We hired a caregiver through Care.com who quit after two weeks via a hostile text message accusing us of being bad parents because we declined her developmentally inappropriate and unsolicited advice about our infant. We later discovered she had also stolen a personal item from our home. Shortly after her departure, our account was permanently terminated with no explanation.
When I asked what happened, Care.com told me they are not required to tell me what I was accused of, who accused me, or what evidence exists. Their appeals process requires you to log into an account that has been closed — so it doesn’t actually function. Their own customer service confirmed they don’t have access to the specifics of why accounts are closed. I submitted evidence showing the caregiver’s retaliatory motive. It was ignored.
Over the course of five responses through the Better Business Bureau, Care.com sent the same copy-pasted reply every single time without engaging with a single point I raised. I have also filed complaints with the Federal Trade Commission and my state Attorney General’s office.
So to be clear: the caregiver who quit in a hostile manner and stole from my home is still on the platform. My family is banned. And because my account is closed, I can’t even leave a review to warn other families about her. Care.com sees no problem with any of this.
This is a company that will take your money, allow someone to file an anonymous report against you with no verification, permanently ban you with no explanation, and then tell you repeatedly that their policy says they don’t have to do anything about it.
If you are considering Care.com to find care for your children, your parents, or anyone you love, please think carefully. This company has already paid $8.5 million to settle FTC charges for deceptive practices, paid $1 million to California prosecutors for misrepresenting background checks, and was the subject of a Wall Street Journal investigation that found caregivers with criminal records committing crimes against children in their care.
Care has never factored into anything this company does.

I like that Care.com lets me be a caregiver and helps others find care for both one-time and recurring needs. The app itself still needs some improvements for certain tasks when navigating as a caregiver. The messages are always delayed for me. I am not sure if this is the same for someone who is looking for care.

It is great to be able to hire honest and caring people which has been carefully selected by care.com. It makes me feel safe and good about hiring someone that wants to provide good and loving care to my love ones.

When I used this service last year, I had no idea that I signed up for a reoccurring subscription. Most reputable companies will send a receipt or reminder upon renewal. Not this one. I have been getting charged over $89 every three months since last year. I have requested a refund and was messaged that the service is non refundable. How awful that a company would deploy such horrific and deceptive business practices. How can they get away with not even sending a notice or receipt when they charge you. Had I not been taking a very careful look at my bank account I would have never noticed. Just awful. And also had ZERO luck hiring a reputable care giver.
