This is the best place to work and they…
This is the best place to work and they are very flexible. I got my permanent position and career teachers allowed me to get my permanent position without any restrictions. But other agencies are not allowed to be permanent until contract finish. But this is the best agency I ever seen.
Thank you for your service and I’m glad to being part of your community.
Do your research well before
I was given a lot of verbal job opportunities after the initial zoom interview then internal process to pay for their internal DBS which took over a month. Anastasia was amazing, affable and very professional however another recruiter who was in charge of my job area placements left after my DBS came through and the placements thereafter were stated as being only SEN roles. I kept calling nearly twice a week for any opportunities but was informed there ain't any this term time. I didn't research the agency well enough and now have seen various negative reviews which is a shame as I truly hoped to gain employment with the agency but was given a lot of false hopes so I've had to move on.
Don’t be fooled by this evil company
I worked with career teachers as a supply SEN teacher in 2022. When I was in the employment process they were lovely and so welcoming, acting like you’re the best thing since sliced bread, really making you feel valued. The second they’ve got you employed it all changes. In terms of being paid on time, and finding availability for shifts this was not a problem, this is probably the only good thing about them. However I felt extremely belittled by the way I was spoken to. I would message the night before if I had a migraine (which I often suffer with) and I was told it was not expected or professional of me to let them know the night before that I couldn’t work the following day, despite if I’d ring up in the morning I’d be told it was late notice for a migraine which was not acceptable. It felt like you couldn’t win at all. I currently work in management now and I understand it’s annoying when people call in sick but try having some empathy. I was working 2 jobs at the time to bring in extra money for my family and whenever I had already work commitments which had been in place for months and had let them know months prior before with my other job (which I’d had for 5 years) I was told I looked sloppy for not being able to work last minute at the school and should ‘prioritise a real career’ which I’m glad I didn’t because I now like I previously mentioned work in senior management. I was told at least 3 times when I had a stomach bug to ‘just manage and try to make it in’ despite the schools policy being 48 hours without sickness, as it was a school full of vulnerable people after all. And to clarify this is not the schools fault they were excellent in everything I did and really supportive.
I was told by career teachers to ‘never contact the school directly’ and I must only go through them. I know realise this is because the school had empathy and would let me take time off where needed and also would ensure I had the correct hours off when throwing up to protect the children. All career teachers cared about is me working so they can take half my wage slip for sitting on their arses.
I once text to ask a question and was promptly told by email not to contact that person by their personal number however they contacted me on multiple occasions before about work issues on said number and I was never informed it was personal mobile. The whole time I was with them I felt genuine anxiety and used to go to work feeling unwell as I was too scared to ring up and let them know I wasn’t feel great. Can I just mention also I let them know I had migraines and another job before I was employed, just incase anyone sees me as being the problem here, they could’ve easily turned away my employment if they did not see me fit.
It’s a shame because it feels like they take advantage of people who clearly need jobs and are willing to work as often as it takes to provide for their family. I would having some empathy for your employees and try treating them like humans and not like robots who are just programmed to work.
I really hope this was a one off experience because I feel for others who’ve gone through this. Despite all the upset it caused me, It has infact aided my career in a way as now I’m working in management I know how NOT to treat people, which is why I’m a highly respected person in my field. I genuinely feel sorry for my younger self the amount of stress I went through being under career teachers and I can’t get that time back unfortunately… but I can warn others to avoid at all costs.

Worked for them from Sept '23 to Jan '24. Caroline was great. Always available - by text, WhatsApp, email - and lots of work. Paid on time... couldn't ask for more, really!

When I started working with career…
When I started working with career teachers, it was quite good because of the ppl I met but have now left. When you txt or ring they take so long to ring you back and now that lock down is going on, I'm on furlough but not a word from no one. If you ring to ask a question you are being answer rudely, it's like you are troubling them. I have no money noi gas no electric no shopping and nothing from career teachers. If Jade was there she would do whatever to help me. Its so sad how we are being treated
best of best
I have worked with Career Teachers two times and there are very professional and understanding. Best Agency I have worked with.
