We could not be happier with these guys. We were very warmly welcomed, they explained everything perfectly taking their time even though it was busy. The car and rooftop tent were in perfect condition, we didn't even have so much as a flat tire. And upon return no nasty surprises about the rental agreement or anything. Just the same thorough and lovely service. Our wish to return is largely based on the perfect experience with the car and value car rental

I had always contracted with Asco Car Hire but this time they did not have the availability of the vehicle we needed and we chose the value car rental option. The differences are minimal. The car is older but in good condition, the camping equipment a bit less, airport transfer not included, ... but Value Car Rental is a good option when ASCO CAR HIRE is not available

Really appreciated the higher patterned tyres they had in all of their vehicles.
The only complaint I have is that we had only one warning triangle in the car. This is fine in Namibia and I guess in Botswana. However, they knew we were going to Zimbabwe as well where regulations say you need two, like in some other countries. We were fined because of that right before getting out of Zimbabwe. I'm sure police knows some rental companies from abroad don't put this second triangle so it's easy for them to ask it. While it was only $10 I'm not comfortable in getting in touch with police. And I definitely think it would be responsibility of the car hire company to make sure the car is fully legal in all countries where they permit us to drive. We paid a small extra fee for being allowed to drive into few countries outside Namibia.
Would be five stars without this.

Great company. Quick and convenient service, nice cars with good equipment. Good prices in February! No insurance "100% all inclusive", but all companies. Conveniently located in the city. I would recommend this company.

I rented a Toyota Hilux at Value Car for 8 days and it was a robust, comfortable, and reliable partner which became part of our travel team. Just great. In addition was affordable and the Value Car team was helpful and nice. Thank you for supporting us in a great adventure that will remain in our minds for the rest of our life.

Messy airport transfer (nobody was here when we arrived), we then had to wait for a few hours to get the car which was not ready.
Back door didn't lock properly.
Otherwise, the car (hilux double cab) was in excellent condition, camping equipment quite good. Would have loved to have an extra box to store stuff (food...)

Everything was fine, there are no special complaints, you can safely recommend it.

the 4x4 was comfortable and worked great. No problem.
But except the manager, the girls at the front office were not very nice. To be improved then.

Very helpful the first day, very good explanations about all the stuff inside the car, how to use the tools, the tent and so onc.
At the end of the trip, no problem at all.

Very good cars and effective service.
Reasonable rates. Possibility of booking and of paying in Europe.
Excess option clearly explained

Good briefing, good tyres, everything worked normal as should be.
A brush to cleen the trunk is not available and can be necessary.

Best car rental in Windhoek. High grip tires are obvious.

We had a great experience and I would recommend it. The car was perfectly cared and prepared, even with new tires which is very important to drive in those roads. I will for sure go back again !

We had a very good experience with Value Car Rental, would rent again. Everything correct, we were happy with the car and condition of the tires (very important for Namibian roads!), friendly staff.

We rented a roof-tented 4x4 for 5 weeks in November 2016. The price was good value indeed. But many little things in the car worked averagely well: the fridge kept going from freezing to off, the water tank leaked, the locks on the back had to be repaired on the road...
Moreover, the car stopped on the road to Epupa Falls, the company asked us to find a way to drive abck to Opuwo to get it fixed. We lost one day and 300km but they did find someone to fix it on a Sunday.
Quite good but could be improved on some levels.

Absolutly nothing to complain about. Every thing was perfect from the pick-up at the airport up to the end. The car was well equiped and we didn't have any issue.

We hired a Hilux with all equipments (safari version) to enable us to be self sufficient.
The equipment was complete and in rather good condition, the rooftents were working quite well, the fridge was looking old but working perfectly.
The car itself was in excellent condition with brand new tyres except the back bumpers that were really old and that we finally changed during our trip.
However, the company arranged for everything and was really efficient.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this rental company if you are not focused on the state of the art 4WD but rather a car that will render the same services but that is 3 to 5 years old.

The car was full equipped and we did not have any problem. We drove almost 6000 km during 3 weeks in our road trip last August 2016, and we enjoyed a lot the experience with the Toyota 4x4. The staff is very nice and friendly, they picked up us in Windhoek Airport and they bring us back to the airport the last day of our stay. Enjoy Namibia!
