Relaxed pleasant atmosphere.
Didn't jump on us the moment we were looking round. Adam, the salesman opened the car and left us to have a good look at it without hassling us. When we decided to buy he didn't confuse us with loads of jargon and was just a really pleasant person to deal with.

Cars may have several hidden defects and a company who refuses to accept responsibility
One of the most disappointing vehicle purchasing experiences I have had.
I purchased a vehicle from Carlingo on the basis that it had undergone a service, MOT and 126 point inspection. Prior to purchase, I specifically asked whether there were any defects not visible within the sales photographs and was advised there were not.
Within a short period of ownership, it became apparent that this assurance was unreliable.
A trim component on the vehicle had previously been repaired using a double-sided sticker rather than the correct repair method. The repair failed, causing the trim to separate from the bodywork. Carlingo ultimately accepted responsibility and paid for the repair.
I also identified poorly repaired and poorly colour matched stone chips immediately upon delivery.
When I later requested the inspection documentation that Carlingo relied upon throughout the complaint process, none of these issues appeared to have been identified, recorded or disclosed despite existing at the point of handover.
The obvious question is: if defects that were present at handover and later acknowledged by Carlingo do not appear anywhere within the inspection records, how much confidence should a customer place in the inspection process being advertised?
The response to my exhaust complaint was equally disappointing.
Following the vehicle's first MOT and service a mere 10 months later, a £700 exhaust replacement was required. I provided photographs showing extensive corrosion and deterioration. Carlingo's response was to repeatedly rely on a single line within an invoice stating "outer casing rusted" whilst failing to provide a single contemporaneous photograph, inspection note, engineer's report or technical record supporting their own position.
Throughout the process, Carlingo repeatedly relied on the integrity of its inspection process whilst simultaneously failing to explain why known defects present at handover were absent from the very inspection records they were relying upon.
Even more concerning was that after more than a week of correspondence and only after rejecting my complaint, Carlingo suggested that the original exhaust should have been retained for inspection. This was never requested when the complaint was first raised and appears to have been raised only once it was entirely foreseeable that the removed component would no longer be available.
Despite attempting to resolve the matter amicably and offering a compromise settlement, Carlingo refused to contribute anything towards the repair costs.
My overall impression is of a company that is very quick to advertise extensive inspection and preparation standards but far less willing to stand behind those standards when legitimate concerns are raised.
Based on my experience, I would not trust Carlingo's inspection process, would not rely on assurances that a vehicle is free from defects, and would not purchase another vehicle from them.

We would like to clarify a few points for context. When the trim issue was brought to our attention, we accepted responsibility and arranged for the repair to be carried out at our expense as a gesture of goodwill and as the sale was a home delivery you had not seen the vehicle before. We always aim to resolve any concerns raised by our customers fairly and promptly.
With regard to the exhaust concern, this was reported approximately 10 months after the vehicle was supplied. During that period, the vehicle had been in your possession and maintained independently. We understand that the exhaust was replaced by a third-party garage before the MOT was carried out, which unfortunately meant that neither we nor an independent assessor had the opportunity to inspect the removed component and determine its condition at the time of replacement and was judged only by the garage that had replaced the part.
While we appreciate that unexpected repair costs can be frustrating, we carefully reviewed the information provided and were unable to establish that the exhaust replacement related to a fault present at the point of sale. For this reason, we were unable to agree to a contribution towards the repair.
We take great pride in our vehicle preparation standards and inspection processes. We also do not record cosmetic blemishes that we leave on the vehicle during the preparation and do not advertise this, but only the remedial work carried out. While we respectfully disagree with some of the conclusions reached in this review, we appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns and wish you all the best.
