We enjoyed this property and the location would highly recommend

Our experience with Carolina Cabin Rentals was awful! Horrible customer service – they proved to us that they don’t care about their customers! If you are reading this and you haven’t rented from them yet – I recommend going with VRBO or AIRBNB!! We’ve had great experience with both of those organizations and will stick with them!!
We rented a cabin from Carolina Cabin Rentals – Bears Creek Lodge - and it was a gorgeous cabin but it was very dirty in many areas. I sent an email to Carolina Cabin Rentals with pictures (so they could see it for themselves) explaining our experience. No response. I sent it again 2 weeks later and still no response. What kind of customer service is that? AWFUL! Plus, there is a $1000.00 security deposit when you rent and when they refund your deposit – they take out a $33.83 “administrative fee”. Just all around disappointing! If you want a good experience, DON’T use them!

In April 2021, we stayed at a CCR property rated 5 stars, Parkway Retreat in Blowing Rock, NC. From the moment we walked in the door, it was clear this was not a 5-star rental (terrible smell from dirty diapers left in the trash). We uncovered a number of issues throughout our stay (not enough hot water for showers, clogged bath tubs, no heat in the basement with 2 bunk beds, among other things). At the end of our stay, I wrote a very comprehensive review to make sure others were forewarned. In spite of my many emails asking why my review and rating are still not reflected on the CCR site, and being told that they will be, here we are in August and Parkway Retreat still has a perfect 5-star rating. It seems clear to me that CCR doesn't really care about honest reviews. Be forewarned and don't trust any of their 5-star properties.

Cabin was very nice, plenty of room, very comfortable and overall could not have been happier. This was our first family mountain vacation and everything was wonderful. Our only issues were the long path down to the river and the semi secluded location as the road into the community stays very busy sun up to sun down. Do NOT wash your vehicle prior to going as there are a few miles of gravel road to travel in, not that this was an issue, just a friendly reminder here. Thank you again Carolina Cabin for a wonderful stay.

We really loved the cabin and had a great celebration with our family and friends for their birthday. We will be using your service again next year and will tell all of our friends to use you.

We needed a last minute getaway and was lucky enough to find an opening through Carolina Cabin Rentals. The representatives I spoke with were helpful and friendly, and quickly responded to any emailed questions I had. The views were gorgeous, the cabin was beautiful. There were lots of places in town we were able to get any supplies we needed.

For other travelers, I recommend bringing from home:
extra bath towels
washing machine/dishwasher detergent and dryer sheets
pack of toilet paper/paper towels/surface cleaner
extra trash bags
travel cooking spices (salt, pepper, etc)

All of these items can be found easily in town, but if you want to save the extra stop during a vacation, it's a good idea to have them already. We also found that previous travelers did leave cooking spices in the cabinet where we stayed, but your cabin may not have them.

I absolutely loved staying there and look forward to renting from them again.

Grandfathered Inn was beautifully appointed and furnished with almost everything one would need. The rooms were spacious and the layout of the house was perfect for a large group. Wish there had been a fire pit or outdoor fireplace instead of a hot tub! Thank you for sharing this beautiful mountain house with our family!

Laundry room was a nice surprise. I didn't know there was one, and it's bigger than mine at home!

We had a great stay. your correspondence and customer support answered all my questions on a quick and courteous fashion. The cabin itself was excellent very well furnished and in an excellent location. neat and clean always helps and it was. My brother-in-law with back problems can only sleep in a recliner and the cabin had two. Also enjoyed sitting outside one evening watching the stars without much light pollution. would definitely rent from carolina cabins again.

Had an excellent family vacation. Stayed in the most beautiful cabin. Lots of room. Felt like home away from home. We didn't want to leave. We will definitely be back. Thanks so much.

I've been depending on Carolina Cabin Rental for several years now for my yearly ladies retreat in the mountains. They have always been very helpful and if I've had any concerns they would address them promptly and efficiently.

The Cabin was excellent. We rode motorcycles to the Cabin which the location of the cabin was not the best pace for a motorcycle trip. The 6 mile trip up the road to the cabin was loaded with very tight switchbacks. Switchbacks are a fun test for a motorcycle, but 14 every day in and out of the cabin are a little much. The last road to the cabin was dirt and stone. On the day before we were to leave the town graded the road leaving a loose stone surface. This also was not conducive to motorcycles. I would not recommend this cabin to a motorcycle vacation. Again the cabin itself was very nice.

We found Camelot Lodge very accommodating. Clean and well cared for. Loved the high ceiling in the bedroom over the kitchen.
