Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Beware; This house is not as nice as in the photos.

Casa Del Artista, Skipton.
This stay was celebrate my 70th birthday,. There were four of us.
This is my honest review.
The house is marketed as a "luxury serviced property, with a beautiful interior design, 'boasting' a fully furnished courtyard "

You enter the house via steep steps, that may be difficult for people with mobility issues.
We went straight through to the 'courtyard' to get some fresh air after our travels.
First impressions were extremely disappointing.
We were greeted by a very dirty, messy yard. The uneven slabs are a trip hazard and were covered in green slime , weeds all over and debris around the edges. The wooden bench was a disgrace, covered in green slime and a little pile of render that had fallen of the wall.
You could not possibly sit on it without cushions.
We found the cushions in the dusty shed behind 3 bags of soiled smelly laundry , clearly from the previous occupants that had not been removed.
The seat cushions were not very clean, and one had bird poo on it.
The yard did not match the photos of an attractive chic space to enjoy a drink.
There is not a patio table and chairs for guests to sit an eat at. The plastic chairs ( some were dirty) are very low, with small tables.
If outside space is important to you, as it was for us, this was very disappointing and definitely NOT a nice area to sit outside for drinks !
The house itself is nicely furnished, but quite dark.
It over looks Tesco's car park.
We found the bath towels quite small, and there were no waste bins in the bedrooms.
The top floor ensuite bedroom is via a very steep stair case, again difficult if you have mobility problems.

In my bedroom there was a round metal table in-between the beds. When i moved it next to my bed the leg fell off. I raised the issue with the owner, but it was not resolved whilst we were there.
So I did not have a bedside table to put my spectacles, medication, phone and kindle. This was inconvenient, and fell short of the luxury experience we were promised.
My pillow case was torn.
The lovely pink 'designer' blind shown on the photos was not there, which was a shame.
There was no window dressing at all.
There was a small console table with a drawer, but the nob came off when I opened it, so I couldn't use it.
The lighting in my room was so dark, that I could not use the mirror to apply makeup. The bathroom lighting is better, but as the bathroom is shared, this was not ideal.
The top oven had a notice stuck on it saying out of order. This house is for 8 people, and that may be an inconvenience for some.

Overall the house 'interior' is nice, and in a central location, but parking is very tight.
However there are some important issues that need addressing for the comfort of the guests.

Unfortunately the owners communication with me was very defensive. She implied I was lying about the dirty laundry and referred to my complaint as minor problems that should not affect my 'heavenly' experience. I found some of her responses to me condescending and unprofessional.
Here are just two quotes from their email to me;
" Bring all the bitterness to the finger tips and let it out. May you feel peace after that 🙏🏽.you deserve peace at 70."
"The laundry you saw in the shed was simply from one changeover and not dirty or smelly," ( I had sent her a photo of the dirty laundry !)
They did not support my birthday celebrations in any way, rather just the opposite.
Given everything we experienced, we would not return.
UPDATE;
Unfortunately the owners have resorted to telling blatant lies and manipulating the truth in their reply to my Google review. I have removed a star for this shocking unprofessional behaviour.
If you are considering booking this house, be aware that everything is not as it is portrayed. They will say anything to cover their own backs !.
I truly regret giving the owners my business.
